When to Repair Rock Chips

Good morning,

 

I am trying to figure out the best order of operations for my upcoming full detail. I plan on polishing and sealing my truck, but at some point I need to repair some small and large rock chips. Should I do this before I polish or after?  If before, how long should I wait until polishing? If after, how long should I wait before sealing?  I know this has been posted a few times, but I haven't found a good answer. Some people say a few days before polish is enough. I don't want to pull out the repair when polishing though..

 

I plan on using Langka Blob Eliminator. I have had success with this method in the past.

Its based on the product (Langka) you use. I have seen some say as little as 48 hours and others to wait at least a week for polishing/sealing. If it were me, I would decon and correct then use coating prep before the Langka. I would then wait until the following weekend to seal.

Great question and one I’d like more input on.   99% of us have chipped paint at some point.  I have always given my “repairs” at least a week before any machine buffing.
