Lexus Paint

Yo-Yo Ma's Cousin

Question

Does anybody have experience with any of the newer Lexus Paints? I read an owners manual that says they have a self-restoring coating on the paint. It claims to be scratch resistant and last 5-8 years. Is this a new kind of clear coat? or is this on top of the clear coat? I'm very skeptical about this.

Sounds like a lie to me. There's definitely swirls all over lol And without a sealant or a coating, the surface is definitely not hydrophobic.

Here' the excerpt:

I was interested in polishing. But then this floored me. It tells me not to use abrasives and that pouring warm water to swirls may restore them? That sounds nuts.

Has anybody heard of this?
