  1. There wasnt a SINGLE drop. The rest of the car glass included was LOADED. The hood was 100% dry to run the back of my finger against. I guess what you are saying must be the case. That must mean that I applied the MSS completly evenly? It seems as though from the responses I am getting and from what I have read that this isnt the norm though, and that others are getting beeding?
  2. Real quick. I did 2 passes on the entire car with scratch and swirl, then one pass with fmp. I then put mss on the hood and nothing else. The rest of the car had buttery wax applied and nothing else (I also cleaned and sealed all glass). For the hood I let the mss cure for 30 minutes then wiped it down. Roughly 20 hours later I wiped down minor hazing on the hood with detail spray. Tonight my wife and I went into a movie while it was lightly drizzling. When we came out 2 hours later the car was loaded with water beeds on all glass and panels except for the hood. There was not a single drop on the hood at all. Ok so maybe not so quick, but is that normal?
  3. Car looks great. Not to Hijack the thread because maybe I should put this question somehwere else. How do you use a 7 inch pad on all the places that are much smaller then 7 inches. Like front bumper, trunk and the door pillar between windshield and the door?
  4. I have unused machine super sealant and 6 inch black pad that have been sitting in my closet for 11 months or so. Any interest?
  5. 2nd this question and an additional question. I want to polish a daily driver, but it will be a panel at a time. Maybe hood and fenders this week and doors next week. Can I do my normal wash [car beads like crazy] then just strip my hood with the alcohol. Or do you guys use the alcohol AFTER washing the car with dawn or something. Basically I just dont want to strip the car all at once [i apologize if this derails the thread]
  6. I will give this a shot. My common sense was telling me there is no quick fix but my hopefull side was hoping for a band aid solution to hold me over to my next wash.
  7. Its not mud, but its not just dust either. Its dust/dirt. I do the proper wash and even in good driving conditions/weather her car is filthy the very next day. Where as my other cars look clean for a week or so. I dont want to avoid a proper wash I just dont want to do it every day.
  8. My wifes 08 VW GTI is white and the issue I am having is that after spending all that time washing her car weekly or detailing it even after a 30 mile commute the back of her car looks filthy. Every other part of the car looks brand new except the hatch and rear bumper. We are talking dirt and not just dust. Is this a job for waterless wash or is that more for just dust/pollen type situations?
  9. This [and revive] are my favtorite products. I had the sealant sitting in my garage for about a year and figured it was time to give it a try. It is real easy to apply and works amazing. I cant believe how smooth the glass feels after claying.
  10. Sorry, "MF apps"? I have the yellow, blue and orange hand applicators. There just arent many areas the 6 inch pad can get to. Pretty much the front bumper, trunk, factory body kit, around door handles, fenders toward headlights, quarters toward tail lights are all tight areas. It seems every pic or post I see on hear is of a camaro, charger, corvette or large truck which all have nice large panels. Its just a pain to switch from the 6 inch pad, then down to my focus pads on my drill then still have to do some by hand anyway [granted it would seem like less of a pain and more worth while if I was detailing a car like mentioned above and not a corolla ]
  11. Thanks for the replys guy. I will try with maybe a pea sized drop on a hand applicator?
  12. I have done some searching and I have found that MSS can be applied by hand in some hard to reach places [or wheels]. I just polished an 09 Corolla S using my PC mostly just with a white pad a FMP with some harder to reach areas with the focus pads on my drill. What I have discovered is that the car is mostly "hard to reach" areas. The hood and roof were easy enough but much of the time I was reaching for the drill. I really want some quick sealant but that doesnt seem like an option at this point, so can I do the majority of the car by hand with MSS. If its a matter or needing extra elbow greese I am fine with that. But if it just wont work right then I wont do it. The PC just helps to spread the product evenly it doesnt help it to "set up" or anything?
  13. So Revive, then SHR, then FMP. Isnt that using the most aggressive polish in the middle? Would SHR,FMP, Revive, then wax be a better order? On my wifes 08 GTI/white I used just revive and buttery wax [after clay] and the car looks amazing. And the paint was nasty before hand. Hadnt been waxed in over a year. Awesome to hear you can use FMP by hand.
  14. Ok I am new so bare with me. Is that the order you did it in? Revive then Scratch and Swirl remover? Also you can use fine machine polish by hand?? Which applicator did you use? Not a Mustang guy by any means but LOVE them in Grabber Blue!!
