  1. I have heard something different for the steps -- Glaze, Sealant, Wax. The glaze can fill in alot of the small scratches, then you want to cover that with a sealant. Why would you not do it this way?
  2. Picked up a can of Bar Keepers Friend. Worked perfectly -- quickly with little effort. All that scrubbing and claying had nothing on this. They look perfect now -- bright and clean!
  3. Claying is time consuming and requires alot of elbow grease. It's not for the faint of heart. There are other products out there that can be attached to a random orbital buffer that make this much easier. I've never tried one, but once my supply of clay is used up, I will. I hate claying. It's the worst step ever.
  4. On my wife's Edge 2.0EB. Last year, I kept it clean all the time and the tailpipes looked great. Over the winter, I didn't clean them out very much and they started getting splotchy carbon buildup on the inside of the tailpipe tips. I tried some all purpose cleaner and wheel cleaner and scrubbed. It didn't get any better. Also tried clay, but it made a minimal improvement. What can I do to clean these up?
  5. I noticed this recently as well with my 15oz APC bottle. It developed a hairline crack and while hanging on a shelf, all the product leaked out. It took me a few weeks to figure out where it was coming from and that it was actually APC. I put a layer of superglue on the hairline crack to get me through the next few weeks until I can find a different bottle to use. I bought a Kwazar sprayer for my deep wheel cleaner and it has worked great for me so far.
  6. I won first place in the 1990-present Mustang class! Everyone loved the color and it sparkled wonderfully on this nice day. I wiped the car down twice during the show from the dust on the grass. More than a few people asked me what products I was using and I was happy to tell them Adams Detail Spray. One guy said the detail spray smells great, and so does the glass cleaner. I had to enthusiastically agree. I didn't think I'd win anything. They dinged me on a few small things -- dirt in the trunk keyhole, some dirt in the window defroster vent, dirt in the windshield headliner where the convertible top seals, and water spots on the wiper arms. They informed me and I quickly wiped those areas down. Everything else was perfect, according to the judges. They loved the color and the shine as well. Here are a few photos.
  7. I am going to my first judged car show tomorrow. I don't intend to win anything in the class of "All Mustangs - 50 years" but it'll be fun just to show it off. My Cobra is already pretty clean with freshish wax on it, but I'm planning out my work for today so I can cover it and take it to the show tomorrow morning. All Adams products. Regular maintenance wash Spot clay where/if necessary Glaze Americana Wax No light polishing today because there is already wax on the car and I don't want to strip it all off and start over... but there may be some light straight light scratches, only visible under work lamps or in the right lighting/perspective in some places. Hoping the glaze will mask some of those today. I'm going to pay special attention to door jams, engine bay, engine, under the sideskirts, trunk jam. With me to the show, I'll bring a duster, waterless wash, detail spray, and all the appropriate microfibers. I think that pretty much covers it. Any other tips?
  8. I'll snap a few photos today. Going to apply it today and layer a coat of wax overtop.
  9. My Cobra has a fabric top. It's pretty clean already, but after a Dawn wax-stripping wash, I found myself reapplying two coats of RaggTop to it. Best stuff I've found to protect the convertible top.
  10. Spent the last 2 days doing a full detail on my Sonic Blue Cobra. After a full wax-strip wash, clay, and polish, I applied Machine Super Sealant, then applied a third-party Carnuaba wax. Probably the best this car has ever looked since it was new, but I went ahead and ordered the Brilliant Glaze today. Question is, can the glaze by applied directly over machine super sealant or another wax as long as its followed up with another coat of wax? Based on some of the reading I've been doing, that is true.
