  1. Sorry if it was in the wrong section. Yes this is just a weekend car that only sees 2000miles a year.
  2. Now I'm sure I already know the answer to this but just want to make sure. Since I'll be doing this outside and the car is stored outside with a cover, I'll probably have to break this up into two nights because I'll run out of light. First night I'll clay and seal, then glaze and wax the second night. On the second night before I start, is there a need to rinse the car again even tho its been covered?

  4. Question about the process needed. The car is going to need light correction but I won't have time to get that involved with the detail before taking it on a trip. For now, I was going to clay bar then liquid paint sealant followed by wax. My question is do I need to wash the car again after clay bar before applying the sealant? Thank you.
  5. Just a standard yellow foam pad like you would use applying wax by hand, the hex ones don't really fit in there to well. As for the microfiber, I just tried with one of my soft adams microfiber towels on the tip of my finger. Yes swirl and haze remover first, then machine polish.
  6. I have started with the fine machine polish first and that was a no go by hand or machine. I've tried a foam pad and a microfiber by hand.
  7. Ok this isn't making any sense. If I machine polish with the cone, I end up with swirls left behind. If I do it by hand I'm left with what appears to be fine scratches side to side as this is really the only direction I can go. How is the polish doing this? I've tried different pressures. I used s&hr first. Sorry guys, still can't get this right.
  8. Thanks Nick, that's what I was trying before but it didn't seem to be clearing up that well so I stepped up in aggressiveness. Then that seemed to still have some haze and scratches at the end of everything. This time I'm going to try the machine polish by hand like Michael had suggested and see how that works. I've got the cone all cleaned up and ready to try it again. I will say though, from what you see in the pictures I can't feel any of it with my fingernail and feels smooth when u run your fingers across is.
  9. Ok I'll give that a try. What's everyone's opinion on how the wheels look? I'm guessing I need to start with the ssr and work up from that.
  10. Ok thanks, I know I don't want to mix them either but I was just trying to test out a small area. What did you use for an applicator when you polished by hand?
  11. Using it with each product. Wiping it off as best as I can with a microfiber in between products. I know I need to really clean it after each but I'm trying to work just a small section to get my method figured out for the rest of the wheels. Then I'll do each step all together on every wheel.
  12. Wiping after each. I was able to get the face of the spokes (silver area) looking better but can't seem to touch the black area. Not sure if it's the clear on the wheels or something else. I've tried different speeds and amount of pressure.
  13. I'm only working one little triangle at a time so I'm only using about a little more then a pea size of product. It's enough to cover the area. I'm also giving it a small mist of detail spray.
  14. I swear I'm making this worse. In the small section all you see are the side to side scratches. In the larger side I worked now it has the circles from the power cone. What am I doing wrong here?
