  1. I'm not sure I would do much wet sanding on my factory finish as I don't think they are as thick as say a custom paint job would be.

I do however do it a lot on my cars for rock chip correction.

I have a few photos already taken last night and had to wait for the clear to dry to wet sand it again tonight and see if it's level with the surface then I will start the polishing phase.

    I'll post pics...

What is your process of repairing rock chips?? I am curious. Thanks!

  2. It is alot of money to make them go fast. You don't just have to buy a chip to get to 400... LOL

The 7.3 shown above has a GT42 turbo, Hybrid injectors, BTS transmission, Headstuds, Valvesprings, fass fuel system, water injection and a custom chip from BTS. The truck dyno'd at 490 horsepower.... not bad for a 7.3.

  3. diesels are fun dont get me wrong and be glad that he has the 7.3 the 6.4 doesnt even come close.

I don't know... but there are a few with a DPF delete and some spartan tunes that are putting down 600 plus horsepower... with stock internals and stock tranny... Just crazy!

  4. Just buffed out my friends superduty... 6 hours later and it turned out great. Love that machine polish kit!! There isn't a single scratch in it now... he won't be taking it elk hunting again...:willy:

You vette's better watchout... it runs a 13.2 1/4 mile...

  5. the other replies hit it on the head - go with Detail Spray (the amount of which based on the amount of dust) and Adams microfiber.

Also, something that I learned the hard way is that it pays-off to use a ladder to get the roof of the truck. If you find yourself standing on the running board or something you will risk leaning up against the door frame with your clothing, etc. I have found spots of minor scratching that is 100% attributable to leaning on it in jeans or even a cheap cotton t-shirt...better safe than sorry...

I know what you mean. I have a nice set of aluminum scaffolding to get to the hard to reach places. :2thumbs: I have only done half the roof of the truck. Have not touched the canopy yet... :help: that will be fun...
