H2O Guard and Gloss
diamondwhite replied to diamondwhite's question in General Detailing Discussion and Questions
Over the holiday weekend I managed to find road construction and tar/oil. my white truck was...covered. I had just applied H20 G&G the day before. All I could think of was how much this sucks. While the truck and tar was warm from the sun I sprayed it with detail spray and the tar wiped right off! I couldn't believe it! Awesome! Great protection from a spray on product. -

I love it for the plastic trim and chrome. It gives the trim a nice dark look and I think it works better on chrome than most chrome polish I've used. the beauty of it is you don't have to worry about getting wax on the trim or metal polish on the paint, it seems to work on everything quite well. just my .02.. I've only used it once so what do I know ha! -

Thanks ledger64! I will give that a try. -
I used H20 G&G for the first time. When I sprayed it on I wasn't able to get a mist of any kind only more of stream. I tried two different sprayer tops. Yes, I changed the setting on the sprayer. I am wonder what others experience is or if it doesn't really matter since you are wiping it on wet anyway. I most likely used more product than was needed. Here are the results. I used liquid paint sealant 2 months ago.

Thanks Jason. The brilliant glaze really added some pop after the revive. The LPS seemed to hide some of the swirls. If you follow the reflection from the lights above the car the swirl and haze gets better with each layey. Night and day difference in person. I'd like to buy a machine and use this car for learning. Right qtr of good was the area I worked on.

wheel well liner - 2014+ GM trucks
diamondwhite replied to diamondwhite's question in Wheels, Tires, Trim, & Undercarriage
I like to find a DIY car wash before I wash for this reason Spray tires and liners with APC and rinse with their pressure wash usually works well -
I thought I'd play around with my daily driver which rarely sees washes anymore.. 2000 Toyota celica gts. 171,000 miles. I took 5 minutes to see what I could do on a quarter of the hood. Here it goes: Proof you can bring back some life to some very rough paint with minimal effort and time. Is it perfect, no but it's shiny The clay bar was pink when I finished so I'm not sure what's left of the clear coat. Photos in order of layers. Strip wash: Clay bar: Revive hand polish: Brilliant glaze: Liquid paint sealant:

Fine swirls, advice?
diamondwhite replied to diamondwhite's question in Paint Correction & Polishing
I had a hard time getting the swirls to show in a picture. I don't have any paint correction products or machine. More photos. I got a few swirls with the flash this time. -
After strip wash and clay bar I noticed a few fine swirls. I plan to seal with LPS, but should I use revive first? Or brillaint glaze first, both? I'd like to follow the seal with brilliant glaze and buttery wax. Thoughts? Thanks for the help! Photos were taken under a 4300 lumen CFL daylight light.

My bad - the photo I posted is with the APC still on the liner, prior to rinsing. Good observation.
