Yeah, I made the mirror worse. You aren't kidding how thin they are. Good news, new mirror glass only $18. It's heated, so I thought it would be expensive.

Do you treat scratches on the side mirrors the same as you would the windshield or other glass? I'm not sure if they are glass or plastic. The scratches are very minor and can only be seen when the sun hits it. I used toothpaste by hand and it worked for the driver side, but the passenger is a little worse. Can I use 0000 steel wool or a polish and 4" pad?
