A small update here, for anyone that cares; the stickiness is still there and I was mistaken when I blamed the detailer I took it to. However, I did not go back and get irate with them or anything. Anyways, from what I've come across it is actually the plastic "gassing out" and is purging something that was used in the manufacturing process. Now I am not a plastics expert, nor do I know anything about plastic gassing out, but I guess it's feasible. None the less, it hasn't gone away, but it has subsided. I have a sneaky suspicion that sometime in the future I will be getting a recall notice for them to fix the dash.

to say the least! I'm trying to quit using chewing tobacco (after more than 20 years) and I reached one of those points where I needed to focus my time on something else for a while. So I decided to focus on the interior of my truck; outside needs washed, but it was dark already. Although I've been a member for a couple of months and have spent a ridiculous amount of money on Adam's products, I hadn't had the opportunity to try any of them. Tonight I used the leather and interior cleaner and wow...it cleans amazingly! I used leather condition on all non-painted part/pieces inside and they look immaculate! I used the detail spray on my touchscreen entertainment center and all grimy fingerprints are gone! I had high expectations for all the products I've ordered and just these 3 exceeded my expectations! Plus they smell amazing, LOL! I can't wait to break the rest out and get going! Thanks Adams...

Go figure, I just placed another order to "round" things out and I didn't add any PS to the order. Guess I'll have to place another...someone has to got to make the madman stop!

Thank you Chops (Chris)... Skipping drying makes sense and I have thought about that, but my concern is getting water spots. My hose spigot has soft water running through it and I'm not sure if the salt in the water would create additional water spots. Adam's wheel cleaner for claying?!?! I bought the kit with the detailing spray...that's not what I want to use when claying? I do have the wheel cleaner though.

I have a tendency to overthink things and I have been researching this since I joined the forum (including reading the forum and external sources). I just wan't sure, since this is the first go around, if I needed to/should include it all. I see that I had a few things out of [recommended/preferred] order.

LOL, that got some of your attention...okay maybe not. On to the intent of my post: My truck has been washed a couple of time since I've bought it and waxed once. Should I use the strip wash on my truck the first time around? If so, and I intend on getting a foam gun; should I load that up with strip wash, suds it up and then follow behind with the car shampoo? Or completely wash with the strip wash and not worry about the car shampoo? The reason I ask if I should strip the truck down is not only to get the wax off, but whatever they use to "dress" the exterior trim has ran down my paint due to some extreme heat (100 degree plus temps). Next question: Am I close to the order of operations when starting with a clean/blank slate: Strip or Regular Wash Dry Clay Wash Again (not necessary, I'd assume) Correcting Polish Finishing Polish Seal Wax Glaze Thank you for your time and any information you'd be willing to provide. Yeah, I was doing a lot of research, youtube'ing, etc. last night and realized that it's not quite complete yet. I'll be placing another order, plus my b-day is coming up and maybe I can persuade the wife to get me a polisher Thank you!

I was just getting ready to ask what else am I missing to a "complete" a detail...guess I probably some wax/polish or correcting and finishing polish too, huh?

I've always believed if you want something done right, sometimes you have to do it yourself (not everything, but most things). Anyways, I paid $159 bucks to have my truck "detailed" yesterday and it looked good afterwards, but the more time I spent inspecting the work the more things I found wrong. Mirrors/glass streaked, water spots, etc. Then of course...the one time it finally decides to start raining in SoCal is the same day. Well today I noticed whatever they used on my side mirrors is running off and down on my paint. It has now left greasy streaks in my paint. So, I said enough is enough and finally pulled the trigger...I ordered me some Adam's products. On the way is: 2 Bucket Car Wash Kit Perfect Interior Kit Ultimate Wheel and Tire Kit and Detail Spray and Visco Clay bar Combo. Had I listened the first time, I promise I will next time, I could have covered half of my order with what I paid for a half @$$ed "detail" job. I'm pretty excited about using professional level products and learning the art of detailing. I'm not OCD, but I like things to be clean and in order

Here I am, I think (had to make sure I knew how to work this thing, LOL) The first one is of my wife and I at my retirement ceremony from the Corps. (She'd been crying and would probably kill me if she knew I put this picture up). The second one, provided they post in order, is me holding a snowball after it snowed and stuck in Southern California. The last one is my bloodhound (Easton...we're a baseball family) and I taking "selfies". He wanted to be a butt and sit on me so I made him take pictures. Why it's upside down I don't know...guess I don't know how to work this!

So, I was out of town for work this week and took my truck to a "detailer" to be cleaned. Really I wanted the exterior and wheels cleaned and the inside vacuumed; however, they also wiped down my dash and other interior plastic/leather with something...no clue what it was. At first I thought it was me; I work in the petroleum/oil/lubricant world and was working with oil all day that day. I cleaned my hands and arms well before getting in my getting my truck, but lets be realistic oil will seep into your skin a bit and due to the heat I thought it was making me stick to my console top/door interior. Then I went to grab my sensor for the FASTRAK/HOV lane off the dash and as soon as my hand touched my dash I realized it was super sticky, like an adhesive was covering my dash...I was p!$$ed, but already left town. Question - Do you think the Interior Detailer has a strong enough detergent in it to remove this sticky mess and protect my dash or is there something else I should use to clean up the mess and then go over it with the Interior Detailer? I really wish I could say what they wiped my interior down with to help make an informed decision, but I don't have a clue. Lesson learned though... Thank you. ~Shane

Thanks, much appreciated. Currently I have an exterior, interior, window, wheel/tire kits, and guard an gloss in my cart. I'm a little gun shy at the moment...not about the products, but the price, LOL! My wife will FREAK out if she knows what I'm about to spend on car cleaning/detailing stuff. Personally it doesn't bother me, I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for, but she doesn't see it like that. The other part of that is I'm not sure of the exact process/steps I need to take to get my truck up to par and in a position where I only have to maintain it for a few months...if that makes sense.

New guy here from Southern California. I have never used Adam's products on my vehicles. Actually never heard of them until the other day to be honest. However, I have spent a lot of time watching the videos and will be placing an order soon. I'm a fan of black and love to "detail"/keep my truck clean. I thought I always used the right stuff and did an okay job of keeping my black paint in good condition....I was wrong! My last truck was cleaned every Saturday and I just recently purchased a 2016 black F-250. This time I wanted to be a lot more serious about keeping the vehicle clean/detailed. So I searched for the best car washing soap (never heard of car shampoo) and Adam's was the first thing that came up, followed by Chemical Guys. So I started researching the two...both have their followers, but Adam's was still coming out on top. I'm a "research" nut and will read/reread the same thing over and over, plus new information, until I can make an informed decision. Well, here I am...Adam's and his videos have won me over. I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take my truck to a detailer for it's first bath since I don't have any of the products yet. I'll fix it afterwards...
