  1. Well ladies and gents, it's been a while since I've been on here, glad to be back!

I had a quick question on how to best clean my car after it's been driven a bit and has gotten a bit dusty, gotta love a black car in west Texas! Typically I would first GENTLY go over the car with a California duster to get all the dust off the car and then wipe it down with Detail Spray.

What do you guys recommend? Going straight to Waterless Wash to lift the dust off the paint and then follow up with Detail Spray, skipping the California Duster all together? Open to opinions, thanks!

  2. I didn't wash mine before using it for the first time and it worked great, no lint either! One thing I did come across though is that it seemed hard to wring out when the drying towel was "full" of water. When I would wring it out it seemed like I could never get enough water out of it and it would streak water when I would try to dry my car some more. What method do you guys and gals use when using this towel? I'm sure it's my technique, I've just never heard of any complaints about this bad boy.

I've been thinking about picking up a second towel so that I could use one to get the majority of the water off and then use the second to get what's left.

  3. Thanks for the replies! My poor bike and I have seen our fair share of spills over time, probably best that I didn't do any close ups of her! I'll have to snap some pictures of my Dad's Commemorative-themed garage for you guys, he sure put some work into it.

  4. Afternoon gents,

I've got an appointment coming up where I will be detailing a car at their house. From what I gather from the customer, the car will need a thorough wash as opposed to a round of DS prior to any other work. My question is, for those of you who have detailed cars at locations other than your house, what do you do for a water supply if you need to wash the car? Thanks in advance!

  5. Nice work! I've been throwing around the idea of doing some cars as a part time job myself. I love doing my car and figured doing some others would be fun too. One thing that would concern me is getting the client's car to our garage to get to work on it. Ideally, I would like for the customer to drop their car off and I'd give them a call when it is done. However, if I do have to do their car and I can't get them to bring it over to our garage and the car needs to be sprayed/soaped down what would you suggest me doing since I wouldn't have access to a hose? I don't mean to hijack the thread but I thought it would help out anyone looking to do something like this. Again, nice work Tom!

  6. Thanks for all the compliments gents! I've been looking at picking up a PC kit with the different pads and such. I really wish I had a beater car to drive during the week, just kills me to spend time cleaning my car on the weekends only to have her get filthy during the week. Oh well, I enjoy doing it not to mention having a few cold ones while doing it makes it that much better!

Victor- I'll get the show schedule to you when I get home. There's pretty much a show every weekend at different locations in McAllen and Mission. Nice looking Z, my Dad has a 2004 Z16. Are you part of the Valley Corvette Club?

  7. Chris- I sure did. I tried my hand at first with a rattle can after seeing some guys get some good results with them but I wasn't one of them. I wish I had gone with a darker gray than I had though.

Victor- Good to see some local folks around! Do you make it to the weekly car shows in McAllen?

  8. Just wanted to stop by and say hello to everyone on here! I'm relatively new to Adam's Polishes but I've learned a ton from this forum and I can see the results on my 2006 GTO. Thank you for all your help and keep the good info coming!
