I got the SK. My GG 6 is now my 3 inch. Works great.

I used my new SK for the first time today. I used a mild polish of my black Benz. Since I've not used any other long throw polishers, I can only give my impressions. It was easy to use. It didn't want to walk and was easy to control. I sometimes used one handed. It was smooth running and not loud. It didn't bog down and I used speed #4. I like it a lot and can only imagine one of the 400 dollar polishers would not be better. Not for me anyway.

Geez, how did you burn through the clear coat? I've not heard of that with a DA, good to know its possible but a bit scary. I've done that with a rotary, but I was careless and the car was a beater. I was a real newby.

The only time when clay bar is not needed, is when paint is smooth with baggy test. That means running plastic baggy over the paint . I use a mit designed for decontamination with lube instead of clay. Its very fast and efficient. Several brands are available. One of the main reasons to machine polish is to remove oxidation. Picking the right polish means choosing from a vast number of choices with varying degrees of abrasivness. A bit daunting but fun.

OK,after reading here,I went ahead and ordered the SK.I've been wanting the new Flex long throw but with the lowered cost coupled with the 17% discount,I pulled the trigger. I'm happy with my decision since I'm a hobbyist and have been using 1ST generation G6.I think this will be a big improvement. 249 USD savings over Flex with 25 foot cord.
