  1. My truck is silver and it is amazing how much the clay cleans the finish are tons of little rust spots all over and the clay pulls them right out, but I take my time and inspect my work and even go back over it if needed. At the rate i'm going it will take me 2 weeks to clay the entire truck, but thats fine as I'm waiting on my PC and machine polishes to arrive , so for now it's just clay a little and apply some buttery wax to protect.

So my advice is to take your time and get every step perfect before rushing on. The reward will be much greater in the end.

Not to try to take over the thread, but I have noticed my clay seems like it is drying out, if that is even possible. I started claying my truck the other day with about half of a brand new bar and got the bed looking great. Today I started doing the doors and it seemed that whenever i tried to fold the clay it would not smooth out like new. I use plenty of detail spray and even tried to massage the bar with several spray in my hands. I got the rest of the clay bar out that was still new and it was fine for two doors and a fender. I keep the container sealed tight and all product in my cool basement.

  2. I finally did my first claying today on my 2006 F-150. The color is smokestone (it's a lincoln color-kinda silver I guess) and I always wondered why it looked like it was covered in little rust spots. The clay pulled them all out (with some elbow grease of course).

It did seem to me that when there was a little less detail spray on the surface, the spots came out easier. And it made a huge difference on the smoothness and cleanliness of the paint/clear. I got the bed done so far and my arms got a serious workout.

I tried the shr and revive followed by buttery wax all by hand and don't feel that the shr and revive were worth the extra work due to the clear being in such good shape. But I would like to get the PC and try that with the shr and machine polish to see if that makes any difference or not. Any thoughts?

I only used the shr and revive on the tailgate but i used the buttery wax on the whole bed(just to get some protection on there for the time being since I clayed it).

  3. How do you guys/gals seperate your towels for washing? I have the standard blue fluffy MF towels, the Blue Glass cleaning towels, the great white drying towels, the blue waterless wash towels, and the wash mitts, all ADAMS of course. I know the mitts can't be washed with the towels but how should I seperate them? And what wash method works best for each type?

  4. That's most impressive. I am looking at getting a used c6z06 in the next few months and was curious on results and pricing of some of the standard mods (headers/full exhaust, cam, cold air) heads may be a little more than I would want to spend but maybe you could make some other good recommendations. Thanks

  5. I'll try washing them, and I'm getting ready to clay later this week. When washing the Adams MF towels, what is the best way to seperate them or can they all be washed together? I have the big white dry towels, waterless wash towels, window towels and lots of the plush blue towels. I didn't know if I could combine or need to eperate. Thanks for the help

  6. I just started using the window cleaner with the blue window wash towels and they leave a lot of fibers/lint on the glass. Any way to avoid this? Also the stickers that come on the towels when new will not totally come off, there is alot of the sticker backing stuck to the towel. Can't say that the towels are very impressive, although the cleaner works great and there are no streaks.

  7. Hey Chris, glad you chimed in! It was good to see another forum member there too. Nice to put a face with the name!

Everybody, Chris was like a hawk the entire time I was working. He did not miss a beat, checking out everything I did. It was funny, I joked about him not believing my videos and that I was using 2 different cars, switching out for the fixed one at the end! lol.gif

Chris will vouch for how easy (or sweaty) it is to get this type of result with the right technique and Adam's products. I expect to see a shiny ride in his post now that he has attended Junk U!

I will have to get some pics uploaded, but my truck is silver and it looks pretty good without any buffing. I haven't gotten a PC yet.

It was extremely hot/humid there. I was sweating just standing there.

  8. Hi Chris, and I apologize that your orders are not finding you as quickly as you would like.

I'm pretty impatient myself, and our small company sometimes sells out of a product way before we can get more stock in.

Good news/ bad news. Good news: Everything you get will be great! Bad news, our little warehouse is often buried with orders, and it located 2600 miles from you!

Coming soon: Shipping from Colorado. That will cut East Coast delivery times in half.

Thanks for your patience in the mean time, and if you are not happy with our service, remember, we back it with a 110% unconditional satisfaction guarantee.

If you call or email our customer service, chances are, we'll take much quicker care of you than posting your dissatisfaction here!

    Thanks, Adam:patriot:

Thanks Adam for the reply and the great news about shipping from colorado. I am a little impatient sometimes. I just met AJ at a Northern KY car show today and watched his magic firsthand and it is unbelievable. So when I got home I placed another order with the great show promotion bringing my monthly order total to a little over 600.00

    Thanks again.

  9. Is it possible to just purchase just the 7424xp and pads with backing plate and maybe the small pads as well? I already have the other products that are included in the machine polishing kit that I just got with the 290.00 detail kit so I don't want to have duplicates of those products. I would need the FMP and Machine wax too. Is the machine wax needed if I already have the buttery wax and the americana?

    Thanks

  10. How many times has that happened to you? Usually if I place an order its put in the system and shipped out the next day or the day after that. And it takes about 4-5 days for me to get it, I mean it is comming from California.

I understand the ups shipping time from california, but the product leaving the warehouse is a little long to me. My first order took about 10 days, second was ordered on july 31st and was damaged before i got it and I still wont get it til mid next week so about 3 weeks on that one and my third order if on time will be 11 to 12 days. I have ordered plenty of mail order stuff to know that a week and a half is way too long, especially with the prices of these products I would expect a little better turnaround.

  11. Why is shipping so slow? it seems to take 3 to 4 days for adams to just get the product out. And then another 4 for ups to get it to me. I had a damaged shipment that never even made it to me the other day, so it's looking like it will take a total of 3 weeks from order to receiving. A little long to me, so I think I'll back off on any upcoming orders for awhile.

  12. Not bad, but you'll be getting into Harrisburg traffic. Can I suggest the Comfort Inn West on Carlisle Pike (rte. 11) in Mechanicsville? It's a little cheaper and a little closer, but most of all, much easier access to the fairgrounds since you can shoot right up 11. Rte 11 has the majority of the hotels and restaurants on it and it's the easiest route to gate 3.

So is the traffic there really bad? I found a room at the wyndham in harrisburg for 188.00 total for 2 nights and it is 24 miles away from the fairgrounds. But is it not worth it because of the traffic?
