  1. I spent 4 hours just cleaning the wheels. There are way to may spokes on these things. I was wishing I had different wheels until I was finished.

Then I liked the way they look when I was finished so it was worth it.

    Wash the fronts

APC and Turbo stick for the backs (they were dirty - 3 passes)

polish #1 with a round foam pad on the drill

polish #2 with a round foam pad on the drill

    BG

Then I was going to go play some golf and the Avalanche would not start

so I ended up getting a battery for it and installing it. I might make it for golf

    tomorrow.

  2. I like waxing using the PC with 4" pads. With Americana I just put the pad into the container and give it a little wiggle and it picks up plenty of wax. I applied BG and Americana to the car last Friday this way. My hands and shoulders have problems so for me its much easier using the weight of the PC applying the wax.

On Saturday I was asking Norm when the new pads were coming and was there going to be a gray 4" pad again. Adding the Red pad is a bonus.

  3. Never an easy answer with photo gear because there are so many different ways to use it. To have the shadow from the lens you must be using the popup flash on the camera. They are not very high. I always use a flip bracket for my flash which gets it a little further away from the camera to help with even very large lens.

The SB-400 and SB-600 are both good flashes if all you are ever going to do is just stick it on top of the camera. If you are going to try using off camera flash the SB-600 would do more for you.

I have a couple of SB-800's that I use off camera making use of the CLS system and it works great. But like most people in the studio I use radio triggers because I have some mono lights and other small lights that are not CLS as well.

The short answer is the SB-600 is the better unit but you also need to look at how you are going to use the flash. Better only helps if you use the better features.

  4. Went to the Callaway plant in Ct. and got to see a lot of stuff they are working on. There is a lot of good stuff and

was impressed with the engineering work they were doing.

Details down to making sure that all the fibers in the Carbon fiber parts are all aligned.

Wish I could have this for a few days

  5. The boat is 30 feet long. I have been about 10 miles off shore with it. When the water is deeper there is most space between the waves so its usually a smooth roll up and down.

It can be very relaxing to be sailing on a nice day and all you hear are the waves hitting the side of the boat. Not having to us a motor makes a huge difference.

  6. There are times when I know that I have to many hobbies and some of them have conflicts for time.

I spend a lot of the summer sailing along the Mass, Rhode Island coast with this boat. It where I started using buffers many years ago.

I also spend lots of time doing photography. I like to take action shots, but also spend hours playing with light trying to find ways to create images that are different. I have a studio set up at home and will play in it half the night. I also spend hours working with photoshop to create images as well. You can see some of the wide range of thing that I have shot on my flicker account.

This is a picture that was created playing with light, and has not had any post processing. This is how it came out of the camera.
