Nano-coatings are definitely interesting, but they're also still very much in their 'infancy'.

 

We don't have any current plans to offer one due to the high risk of amateur application (this is the type of thing you have to consider when all your products are backed with a 110% satisfaction guarantee)

 

A coating like this is a 'clear coat for your clear coat" essentially... so theres a few things that have to happen first.

1) The paint has to be 100% corrected. The coating will lock out the elements long term, but it will also lock in imperfections underneath it. How many threads have we had here where someone seals/waxes their car only to discover they missed a spot? Its no big deal with traditional wax/poly sealant products... strip and start over. With a coating it has to literally be abraded from the surface with compound or you have to live with the imperfections.

 

2) Ease of use - as everyone has come to expect our stuff is generally pretty darn easy to use with very wide margins for error. The coatings require a bit more skill to apply appropriately and can have big problems if done wrong. Again here I point back to the first reason and the 110% guarantee.

Have we played with the coatings? Yes. Are we actively working on our own... not really. Will we eventually? Probably as the technology improves and we can find a solution that suits our customers needs the right way. The last thing we want to do is put a product in our customers hands that we aren't confident they can use easily and without fear of "OOPS" factors coming into play.

 

I'm sure as everyone here has seen there are occasional threads where someone doesn't read the label, or doesn't follow our recommended process and gets unexpected results. The last thing we want to do is have a semi permanent coating with our name on it if theres a high possibility of error or misuse.

Not sure which you used but to be specific Wolfs hard body,is pretty dam amazing! And Opti-Coat as well. But im looking at picking up Wolfs for testing.

I have used two nano coatings... Neither impressed me. Quick sealant lasts longer than one, the other is such a PITA to use its not worth it.

WHOA!! Can def use these to polish my gas cap! Next refill order adding some of these!

i have done this several times, small pot of water put the jar in the pot (it will float) heat on medium and let it simmer. As the water heats up the jar heats up and melts the Americana. You could leave it in there until its completely liquid but if 50% of it melts i think your good.

Pull it out let it sit for 5 min then put it in the frig not the freezer for 20min and your done.

Oh no! You better send that to me because I can see its toast!

Hey gang, I have a friend who just bought a 2012 3 Series Sedan (Lease).

She parked at work to find someone scratched her car. Its on the rear near

Gas panel. It about an inch long, only part of the scratch catches on my

nail. The car is black and I honestly didnt even notice it until she showed

it to me. But now that I know where it is i cant stop looking at it lol.

The section of the scratch that doesnt catch on my nail Im pretty sure I can

repair using the focus pad. However the part that does catch on my nail,

is it safe to say its going to need wet sanding?

Should I even attempt the Green, Orange, White Awesomeness on it?

Was wondering if Adams is RnD-ing any DA for Leather and Carpet cleaning, I keep seeing them pop up from a competitor.

Im a Net admin for an Accounting firm, we have several Android Phones running 2.3x, 4 and Iphone4 and 4S's we have a very aggressive Active Sync Policy, Device Encryption/SD Encryption, 6 Digit PIN with no consecutive numbers.

I think as long ad the device itself supports encryption there really isnt any worry. either way they are both great devices.

I know VZ is getting S3 but Im still under contract until mid 2013 no way im paying 549 for an S3. Im more eager for the share everything plans to drop the 28th getting sick n tired of paying 290 monthly for 3 dam phones

I think each industry has found a use for the IPAD, its just an awesome tool. When the next revision of it drops I most likely will pick one up.

Actually being in the health field the ipad is going to be a big upgrade for us this year as far as providers using them instead of paper charts. We have already implemented EMR, and EDR systems just taking it up a step.

 

Also with the ultra secure BB becoming more and more of a faded out company, we now have to look at others to replace it. The iphone gives us more lock down control than android. So SADLY we may have to go that way.

IT here as well, MAC have never really held market share over PC in an enterprise environment...and they never will.

Apple actually likes it that way and have admitted to gearing their products to the Apple zealots That being said Ipad is rocking the tablet market, so was Iphone...until Android showed up. I am a FANDROID, Wife has a blackberry/IPAD 2 64GB WIFI and she is eager to move to the IPHONE5 when it drops in Sept 2012. MY oldest Daughter (14) has an Iphone 4.

I wont knock it its a nice interface and very simple to use /learn.

But Android does it for me, still waiting on the TRUE IPAD 3.

Coming from android you'll hate the iPhone. I'm an IT guy as well(infosec) and went from iPhone to android. No idea how I lived before android. Use both a windows machine that I RDP into as well as a mac for work. Windows machine is still far more useful in an enterprise environment. Exponentially more so now that they've made the new MBP unserviceable.

For a Sub i highly recommend HSU. Pricey but worth it, I have has mine for 4yrs now and i to use it for music/movies/games

SO turns out she hit a yellow barrier the damage was not bad in certain areas but the panel where the wheel well starts the paint was chipped down to the metal nothing I could do about. I decided not to wash with soap/water used waterless wash instead, clayed but didnt remove anything. Used Revive and about 30 Percent of it came off but after the 3rd pass with Revive it just was not improving. Pulled out the power drill and 4inch pad, 1st pass of SHR 80% of the yellow paint was gone. 2nd Pass of SHR was a done deal it all came out. Hit it with FMP twice as well. It looked dam good considering the damage that remained. She immediately asked if could detail her car. LOL. Here are some pics of the process including a pic of the yellow barrier she hit.

After wash n clay i am going to start with orange on a 4 inch pad move up to green if i need to but i am going to fmp the entire panel for better blending.

So a neighbor of mine has notice the care i give my 392. She wants me to liik at some scratch she has that was caused by another vehicle. If its a simple scratch i am very confident i can fix it.

However if there is paint transfer how can i remove the paint sitting on top of her clear coat?

I have the full range of adams products. I am due to see the car soon as i get out of church and will post pics when i can.
