  1. I use a clay from the UK that plain blows the currently available stuff away. What I like about it, is it's a bit safer on corrected paint, but still removes the contamination. It's more malleable without being gooey! I can't stand gooey clay.

Adams clay is just as good as any other clay in the USA, but compared to what's available everywhere else in the world, it's just OK.

Adams knows this and it's driven them NUTS for years.

That's pretty exciting, considering how good Adams current clay is.

  2. I use Adams soap for everything except for strip washes in which case I also use CG CW&G. I think you could go without the honeydew as Adams does great in a foam cannon.

I have some of the Honeydew, but it tends to want to spot a little easier than Adams. Also, the guys over at Detailers Domain are big fans of Adams Shampoo in their foam lances. If it's good enough for those guys, it's good enough for me.

Also, if I ever wanted to strip, I'd just toss some APC into the wash.

  3. nice clean up chase, I got a few STi's in the work soon and I fear they are gunna be the same when i've been told "they are in good shape, dont worry" haha.

I think there is "good shape," and then "good shape...for a Subaru." I'm on my third one. They have some seriously (and notoriously) soft paint.

As for the OP, great job, man!

  4. I know we've talked about the aprons before. I've seen a microfiber apron... no thanks. looks like a fluffy bunny wrap or a snuggie that got mangled.

I'll take one of those that Junkman has tho. And a bandana for my hat.

If that fluffy bunny wrap keeps my belt/zipper/whatever else away from my paint, I'll wear it. I notice they do have these in stock now.

    I'd definitely wear an Adam's t-shirt!

  5. Sidekick is awesome around the house. I blew out my dryer vents and cold-air return. Great for blowing dust off of high windows, ceilings, and cabinets (I have high ceilings). Dryed my dog off once too. It's portability is great.

I believe there are Sidekick-like blowers that a lot of professional dog groomers use. Like you, I've used it around the house, awesome little thing.

I'd love to have the MB, though.

  6. I love the Merino mitt. Bought it for my wife's new 4Runner, washed it per instructions, and it performed brilliantly. No issues with holding suds. The problem I'm having is drying. It's been a couple days and the inside of the mitt is still damp. I have seen instructions for other wool mitts that say turn them inside out or else they will get moldy. What's the consensus for Adam's mitt?

I would stick it on a boot dryer if I still had one.

Theres really only one option left out there guys... Gilmours foam master... if you search amazon you'll find a number of places selling the various models. You just want to make sure you get one with an adjustable ratio setting. Theres one model they make thats fixed, which you don't want.

All the various ones sold at 'wall-mart of detailing' are gilmours with different brand stickers stuck to the canister.

Thanks for this. We've moved into an apartment for the next year or so and I sold my old cruddy pressure washer. Needed a hose-only foam gun. Thanks!
