  1. What was your process? Looks like a big turnaround as is!
  2. I've never seen those new wheels before, they are amazing. Very aggressive look, nice job!
  3. Wow what a turnaround. That looks miles better then it did before.
  4. The reflections in the paint of the clouds is unreal. Thats a really nice color as well. Nice job!
  5. Looks really shiny now! Really nice work. The wheels pop now too!
  6. Thats a huge compliment, thank you honestly. Thats incredible though, with that type of discount there is no reason you shouldn't own one! Mine is a base , nothing fancy.Just Ipod, aux and bluetooth. I would have liked the heated seats, sunroof, heated windsheild/mirror and fogs but the extra 3k on the price was just to much. However i did love the fact the base has no rear spoiler, made it nice and easy to put the TS spoiler on . I wouldn't be worried driving the car in any condition, however i do recommend getting some real snow tires. The factory dunlops are not the greatest thing by any means for snow driving. An extra set of rims with some blizzacks and you'll be set for life. But If it helps you any, i bought mine brand new with all weather mats for $25,125.
  7. Man texas, no kidding ... that picture looked like the same exact way mine did. Sadly, i wish i knew what i knew now because i would have told the dealer not to clean it when i picked it up I'll give that a shot next time, there is a street light right outside my house .
  8. Thank you, i've been a subaru fan my whole life. I've owned other cars, but nothing compares. Thank you, and i had no idea about that kind of product. Sadly, i didnt even really know it was iron/dust spots ... i just assumed it was dirt. :smacks forhead: It was definitely much harder then i thought to see the defects. I found a few scratches near the rear bumper i was able to remove. So it worked on obvious ones Ferry parking lot in Belford. Its nice and open so i was hoping the sun shining on the car would be easier to see. Thank you! I did that exact same face when i saw the claybar from the top of the bumper. In NJ, you can't have tint on the front windows . I had tint on my SRT-4 in the front and had to remove it. However, the car already has some mods. More will come eventually i hope. It has on it now ... 25MM Spacer Adapters STi Wheels STi Front lip STi TS Rear Spoiler BC Coils Cobb Intake with Airbox Cobb Stage 1 Ark Catback Thank you, Satin White Pearl is hands down my favorite color. Took me months to find this car. Lots of subarus around here are blue or black, no many whites. You say caught yourself like its a bad thing? They are a great car, i cant say enough about them. They look aggressive, they have power, they are excellent in snow, maintenance prices aren't too bad. Insurance prices are great too actually. Thank you very much. And your absolutely right, i guess it kinda evens out. If i don't see them, they arent there, right? And to everyone else who commented, thank you very much. It really does mean alot to me.
  9. http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/cars/17658.htm#post305628 Well i did it, put it all into one thread. Thanks everyone
  10. http://www.adamsforums.com/forums/cars/17658.htm#post305628 Just compiled all of my detail in this thread. Thanks everyone
  11. First off, i would to thank every single person who gave me advice or commented in my intro thread, and my mid detail thread. It does mean alot and does not go unnoticed. With that being said , ill get to the story. I own a sadly neglected 2011 WRX which was never properly cleaned on delivery and or ever after that. Car had one coat of wax thrown on it at my job in the year i've owned it. I had to work outside since my step dad refuses to let me clean out the garage, so i picked up a 12x12 canopy and 2 500 watt lights. I bought the PC kit, and this is what followed. Here goes ... 2 Bucket wash Clay 1 Pass Swirl and Haze on hood/trunk FMP MSS Planning on nice wash, including doing the wheels since i skipped them this time,in the next 2 weeks and adding buttery or americana. Some before pictures. Take note of the headlight haze. It really bothered me. Time to bust out the Adam's Army. First passes on the hood. This is really where i started to get worried. Pictures are of the trunk and top of the rear bumper. First pass along the top of the bumper. Aghhh . This was part of the trunk. After.... whew Got the bug guts and some more rust spots up off the bumper. Car was gleaming after the 3.5 hours of claying. Taped up! Tried to find some swirls but wasn't having luck with the lights. I guess white is just that much more difficult. I know they are there but i guess ill just have to re-do this process in a garage with good lighting in the future. I settled for a pass of swirl and haze on the hood and trunk. Here is the pad after the FMP. I wiped the car down before i hit it, but working outside especially after the 2 hours of rain ... i guess i probably did more damage then good but i didnt want to let the car sit outside any longer with no protection. Final results after the Sealant. Paint looks great to my eye, feels so smooth and it was finally ... shiny. My car hasn't been shiny since i got it. And my favorite ... All in all, it was a huge learning experience , i did try to cram alot into one day . The rain really screwed me , but ive got a basic knowledge and idea of what to do for the next time. My buddy wants me to try it on his car, he has a black gc8 impreza. He also has a garage. So we will see how it goes. I went through almost the whole block of clay, and about 45oz of detail spray. Once again, thank you everyone ... and thanks for looking too. Comments and critiques are always welcomed
  12. Im not entirely too sure what happened but i am now waiting for the sealant to dry. I kinda just went for it . Now i see why everyone who does it has a garage with nice lights. Doing it outside , under a canopy with 2 500watt lights just doesn't work that great. Im definitely going to try and get to a clinic , or meet up with someone on here to watch them work. I think i took on a little to much at one time. But anyway .... I know its going to be far from perfect, but i hope its better than it was atleast. Car looked great after the claybar. I'll upload some pictures tomorrow in the cars section to see my "work". Thanks again for the replies everyone.
  13. I started with the fine machine polish in a 2x2 area, and I've been on half the hood for about an hour. I either have no idea what flashing really is or im doing something wrong. The pad dusted a little, so I hit it with the detail spray. I don't really understand what's going on, I mist the pad, then runover my 2x2 area and the fmp seems to just go clear immediately. Using my light at all angles, its like its not even there. Only time I really saw something is when it dusted. Junkman showed flashing in one of his videos and said to look for that and mine doesn't seem to be doing that. I even put some painters tape on the backing plate to make sure its rotating slowly and im only moving a few inches every couple of seconds. The videos make it look so easy, sigh.
  14. I just used the same light on my mom white car and I see a million swirls. I guess im just going to polish and wax it. I don't really know what else to do.
  15. I understand and I don't want to guess either. The light im using is a 500 watt handheld. I've been moving it everywhere, laying down, standing, me standing, me laying down. I really can't find anything right now. I found a few light scratches I didn't see earlier, but the swirls are hiding.
  16. alrighty, just wiped the whole car down with detail spray again. it looks so much nicer , i cant believe the difference just clay made. However, should i just do one swirl and haze remover pass over the whole car?
  17. I went ahead and tried that after you said it, only thing we have is LED flashlights but it also didnt bring any out. This is frustrating, its like the swirls vanished? Should i do one pass of swirl and haze over the whole car just in case?
  18. Contrast turned all the way up. One hood , one door, and two trunk pics. The trunk looked like it had alot in the sun the other day when it was dirty. The spots in the pictures are from the detail spray after claying. Ugh.
  19. Thank you. Awesome about the detail spray. Let me go get my camera , and take a few shots - then see how they come out in photoshop.
  20. Hey guys, first time with my pc kit and im kinda stuck with a procedure problem right now. I already did my 2 bucket wash, then went right into claying. Unfortunately, this is where the problem begins .. I am outside under a canopy which doesn't cover the whole car, and it started to light rain. Of course it starts the second I finish claying. The front end is poking out, and its already forming beads. I used alot of detail spray and its all over the car. Should I rewash completely and start with the pc, or should I wipe off the parts that are covered and use the pc there? Also, I saw swirl marks in the direct sun the other day, now under the canopy in the shade, I can't find a single one. I know I don't have the best light in the world, but its kinda bright and halogen. Even the flash in my camera doesn't bring any out. The car is white btw. This startles me because now I have no idea what to look for on my 2x2 test spot if I can't see anything? I really wanted to get this done today no matter the time. Its my only car, and I certainly don't want to leave it with the paint at its most vulnerable point. Advice? Tips? Am I in over my head?
  21. That game was unreal, lundquist and holtby were keeping both their teams in the game. In my honest opinion, i believe the rangers got outplayed for most of that game but the caps couldn't take advantage.
  22. I wish i could disagree with you on your first guess, but i can't. Diehard Devils fan here but i just don't think they have it in them.Especially now with Kovy out/hurt ... However, i am going with Philly in 5 Rangers in 6 LA in 5 Phx in 6
  23. If thats not proving a product, i have no idea what is. Clearcut awesomeness divided right down the middle!
