  1. I won't be buying one (can barely afford my 2012). I like a couple of features like heated steering wheel (can be added to my 2012 but about $4-500 in parts alone). I also like the idea that you can now get a 6 1/2 foot bed in the crew cab. Used to be only able to get it with an extended cab.

I bet after the first year sales bump you will see similar savings end of year like you are seeing now.

  2. I love the clean look but I would be afraid some uncaring person would ding my nice clean moulding free doors. I park as far as I can and someone had left a carriage against it one day (no dammage, resting on those mouldings).

I removed all my silverado emblems and everything off the tailgate. I really would love to remove the mouldings.

I vote remove the silverado emblems (your truck your choice).

  3. I'm pretty sure I have the only one when it comes to that bowtie. At first I painted the bowtie black like many others have done. Being an LTZ with the painted grill it kind of got lost in the grill. I sent the mount that the bowtie fits in (clips into the grill and the bowtie is glued/siliconed into that) out to be chromed. There are not many places that chrome plastic out there. One place quoted me $250 to chrome that little piece. I found a guy in FL that did it for $90 shipped. glued (2 sided 3M tape) my previously painted bowtie into it and snapped it into my grill. Expensive but I kinda like it.

    Thanks for the compliments/replies.

It won't stay clean long but with machine sealant, quick sealant, glaze, and Americana I am hoping thw weekly washes will be a bit easier for a while.

  4. My truck is a 2012 LTZ Silverado that has just over 12,000 miles on it and I got it 11 months ago. It is an ungaraged daily driver so it won't stay clean long!! I didn't do as good a job as most of you (first time machine polishing) but for a daily driver and first timer it came out OK?

I know shut up and post some pics..............

  5. I'm fairly new to all this also. What condition is the car in? If it needs a correction that may not be enough. If it is just a little dirty/dusty from being in the garage that sounds perfect.

I have been getting my 72 Jimmy ready for some up coming cruise ins and shows and I did a machine polish, machine sealant, brilliant glaze, and topped it with Americana and it really POPS right now!!

Dont forget the trim, interior, and glass as those little details really help a vehicle stand out.

  6. About 4-5 years, Body was always pretty solid, needed inner/outer rockers. Removed all the trim and the outside tire carrier. Welded all the holes and painted the original Ochre color (not my first choice). Driveline was tired and got 8-10 MPG so I installed a 2005 5.3 and a 4L60e to my factory NP205 and now have the best of both worlds. Old style looks, new style dependabilty!

  7. Does the undercarriage spray last as long as SVRT?

Is the undercarriage spray just easier to apply?

How long does SVRT last? After how many washes does it need to be reaplied?

Does the in and out spray leave the same finish/protection as SVRT? In other words if I do most of my interior with SVRT can I use in and out for some of the harder to get to places?

It gets really dusty where I live. I don't feel like washing 2-3 times a week and I feel trying to wipe down with detail spray probably isn't a good idea. What about the california dusters (thought I saw they weren't recomended?)

I have a 2012 Chevy Silverado LTZ with the "chrome clad" (chromed plastic) wheels. What is the best way to clean and what should I use to protect them (americana?)

    Thanks in advance

    Mark
