  1. I've found the glass sealant to be pesky when it comes to removing the residue. It is very very easy to miss whole spots, and you will end up with blotches unless you take your time and look at the glass from every possible angle. Try glass cleaner and a waffle towel. Do not oversaturate the towel, light misting works better.

Thanks Gerry, I'll give it a go today. Were you able to find time to detail your G8?

  2. HAAAALLLLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!! I sealed my windshield with the glass sealant last week - yes after claying and washing the glass with glass cleaner and When I pulled the car out of the garage today, I could see the glass in the sun is streaked and hazed! I tried misting and polishing with the cleaner but no difference! On the bright side, it looks fine from inside the car but not sure how it's going to be when light strikes it from different angles and at night.

  3. Just washed my 2010 Challenger using Adams products for the first time. All I can say is HOLY CRAP!!! :2thumbs::banana::bow:

I started with the wheels using the APC and the green wheel cleaner. On the Challenger, I could barely fit the brush inside the wheel wells to clean(SRTs sit lower than the others) but I still managed to get them scrubbed. The Green wheel cleaner did an amazing job on the large amount of brake dust (and I only drove the car 2 days!) that was coating the inside of the rims. I thought the 5 spoke would give me enough room to get a microfiber cloth and wash mitt in there but not quite good enough. Guess I'm buying a turbostick at next week's seminar! In the middle of doing the wheels, the 12X12 canopy I had just bought and put up decided to collapse at the first gust of wind on top of my car!!!:explode: Luckily it did not scratch the car.

Note to self, next time save the box so you can return!! It was on sale at the Sears Outlet for $80.00. Maybe I can buy replacement hinges/connectors from the manufacturer....

I used 3 ounces of the shampoo and 3 ounces of the all purpose cleaner in 5 gal. of water (with a grit guard and a 2nd bucket set up to rinse also with a grit guard) to strip the car of whatever wax was on it from the dealer. I bought this car at then end of October, washed it once with Turtle wax ICE shampoo before storing it in the garage under cover for the winter.

I could NOT believe how much crud the clay bar picked up out of the paint!! I went through 1/3 of the bar before I was done with the car! It was falling apart and I just couldn't knead it enough when I was 3/4 of the way done to bury all the contaminants.

Now the car is ready for polish and wax. 1 quick noob question: Do I have to rewash the car now or just start with the swirl and haze remover? (doing a hand wax).

  4. Get the DWC kit with the wheel woollies and pick up some turbo sticks. Throw some QS on them after you clean them up real good and then mix up a few ounces of car shampoo and water for your next few cleanings so you don't degrade the QS.

Don't forget to use the wheel woollies and turbo sticks to get the back of the rims really clean.

I agree with the DWC kit and using the green cleaner, but I don't think the woolies and turbo sticks are worth the extra money as our rims (I have the SRT Alcoas) are pretty easy to get your hands in to clean behind the spokes with a brush and towel. Yes they are clear coated so use a separate mf wash mitt on the surface of the wheels. After washing and rinsing, spray with detailer spray and use a utility mf towel to dry, apply quick sealant followed by applying brilliant glaze. Future cleanings should be very easy after that and your wheels will POP! Don't forget SVRT on the tires and the invisible undercarriage spray in the wheel wells!

  5. That's right! If you spent $300.00, tried it and didn't like it, you can send the whole kit-n-kaboodle back and get $330.00. Likewise, if there are some products you like and others you don't, you can send the ones you don't like back for a 110% refund of each item's purchase price. At least that is how I understand it.

  6. Love to sear me some steaks. Get the egg to about 600, 2 minutes on each side then flip back over for about 3-4 minutes. Med Well and juicy... Love me some steak on a grill.

Never used the sear part on the ole weber we had. Works good on the egg. Should of tried it before now. Making me hungry with all this... lunch time

I get the same heat and higher with my Weber Kettle and good quality lump charcoal. :2thumbs: Yea, I'm a tried and true Kettle head. AND I Love my WSM. Easily fits 100lbs of pork shoulder (yea I do some large cooks) and after 18 hours of nice low and slow cooking, I still have fuel left. For pork, I use a sugar maple lump charcoal with chunks of apple and/or peach for the smoke.

And for searing meat, may I suggest in investing in some cast iron grate inserts? They do an awesome job.

Dang It!! Now I'm in the mood for ribs! Where's my bourbon!!??
