  1. So I applied the Leather Conditioner to my BMW leather seats for the first time after cleaning it with the Leather cleaner. Went on fine, but my fear of it making the leather slippery and sleek came true. I dare not say it made it like how armor-all products makes the leather, but unfortunately, it kind of does.

I will give it a week to see if it becomes better, but after having used BMW's own leather conditioner, which doesn't make it slippery, i'm thinking of returning it. Maybe I applied too much? I used the amount that i saw on Adam's video. I didn't wipe it down afterwards though. I even applied it on my steering wheel, and while making turns, i felt like my hands were slipping off my wheel.

Are others experiencing this problem? :help:

  2. So after 3 weeks of planning what Adam products I wanted, I finally got them yesterday and used them today. I'm new to Adam products and I regularly maintain/wash/detail my car using over the counter products. I wanted to see how good Adams products were and below are my first impressions. Please feel free to comment and add any recommendations or tips.

    Deep wheel cleaner

My wheels aren't that dirty since I regularly wash them every time I wash my car, but the green wheel cleaner didn't come in yet and I got the 32oz of the DWC just to see how it performed. Sprayed it on my dry wheels (which was weird) and waited a few minutes. Not much change in color, probably because not much brake dust. Upon applying, the smell was kind of pleasant, but after using the new lug nut brush, which btw is excellent and the wheel woollies (another great accessory), the smell turned into a rotten egg smell. I did recall Adam saying that there will be an odor to it, however it kind of lingered even after hosing down the wheels with water. Even while detailing my car, I would once and a while get a woof of the smell, only to realize it was cause it was still on the lug nut brush which was in my vicinity. I had to bathe it in all purpose cleaner to get the smell out of the brush, but it was still present. Overall, I'm sure it's a great deep wheel cleaner for really dirty wheels, but the smell was very unpleasant. Reminded me of those stink bombs you would break in a room to get everyone out. Grade B+

    all purpose cleaner

Great product. The lime smell was pleasant. Used it on my tires which got rid of my old tire dressings. Also used it on my exterior rubber trim. Got a lot of dirt off. Also used it to clean one of my polishing pad. Great power. I can see myself using this for other things. Grade A

    car shampoo

I've used my share of car shampoo, but Adams one by far has the best Suds. The smell is also very good. It was easy to apply and using it in direct sunlight was a bit nerve wrecking, however, hearing that it's possible to use it in direct sunlight, i gave it a try. I can honestly say that i feel it's safe enough to use in direct sunlight. Like Adam says, better to have the soap rather than hard water drying. Grade A

    Detail Spray

I still had the old formula that i had to use up. Using this to dry was just.. WOW. It really did make drying so much easier, even on glass. I was using an OTC waffle drying towel. I have Adam's one on order, but needless to say i was impressed with the detail and drying combo. I do have a gallon on the new formula, which i hope performs just as well. The scent on the old detail is very pleasant. I also used the detail spray for claying. Made claying easy and wiping it down with the single soft MF towel was very easy to do. This is definitely a keeper. Grade A+

    Swirl and Haze remover

I bought this mainly because i did have a few water spots on my roof and trunk, so i wanted to see if it would get rid of them. I also noticed faint scratch marks when i would look at my roof and trunk at a certain angle. Using my PC, applying it to the car was a breeze. Went on great and the instruction said to not wipe it down, which i followed. However, because it's a thick product, trying to squeeze it out of the bottle became a bit of a struggle and i had to windmill my arm while holding the bottle upside down in order to get a nice flow of product out of the bottle. I saw that Adam will be changing their lids to a much easier cap, which i am looking forward to. After applying the Revive Polish and wiping it down, i did notice that my water spots were gone, however, i still noticed my scratches. Perhaps i have to concentrate more on that area the next time. Grade A

    Revive Polish

This product was recommended to me by a friend. It is by far one of the best hand polish out there. Using the Hex grip applicator made it such a breeze and easy to use. I forgot how much polish i had to put on the application, but i just did a X pattern. If anyone can remind me, that would be appreciated. Wiping it down was very easy and using it on a black car made it stand out even more. Grade A+

    SVRT

This was one of the product I was very excited for since my rubber trims, both on the outside and inside, never got any care to them. Using the All purpose cleaner, I cleaned my exterior trim, then applied a small amount using the provided block foam, which i cut in half to make a triangle, which was easier to use. Applying it immediately made the rubber dark again and it was easy to wipe off the glass or paint when i got some on. I knew that this was one of the product where Less is More, so i had to remind myself of that. A little did go a long way. Even used it in my engine bay to dress up the plastic coverings inside. Using the tire Hex applicator, i applied it to my tires after drying them. Again, i had to tell myself Less is more, but after using a bit too little of it, I went back and applied a bit more to my tires. I'm use to using "wet tire look" products and not seeing it "wet", i had to tell myself it wont be like that anymore. Grade A

    Waterless Wash

Didn't have a need to use that on the car since i was giving it a full wash, however I did spray it in my engine bay since i'm nervous of actually spraying it down with a hose. The smell was excellent and worked like it said it would. Wiping it off was easy. Can't wait to use it on my car in between drives. Grade A

    Interior Leather Cleaner and Conditioner

This was another product i was looking forward to, however, it is one of the only product that I was expecting different results. The cleaner was great. I didn't have much dirt to clean on the inside, but it did make it look cleaner. Smell was good too. Then came the conditioner. Applying it using the Red foam pad, which is an excellent applicator for this type of product, was easy. It didn't leave a gloss look on my black leather interior and it was immediately dry to the touch. However, my fear was that it would make my leather sleek/slippery, and it did. I didn't use a whole lot on my seats to avoid this, but it still was slippery. I had to park my car back into my garage after i was done and once i sat down, i definitely could feel that sleekness. Even on my steering wheel which i applied it to, touching it, i could tell it had the product on. Perhaps if I let it dry over night and see what it's like tomorrow morning, it will be better. Up till now, i've been using another leather conditioner which didn't make my seats sleek and was hoping Adam's one would be the same. The smell does give it a leather smell. Not sure if i like it yet. I will have to see when i open my car tomorrow if i like that smell. Grade B-

*UPDATE after listening to others suggestion of using a dry MF towel to buff it down, the sleekness and slippery feeling have diminished. I probably did put too much to begin with. My advise to first time users, just use a little bit an/or don't apply the product for each seat. One application for the entire seats. You can always add more later. Better to have less than more. Lesson learn. The smell is also FANTASTIC. Gives it a nice premium leather smell. Grade update - A

    Glass Cleaner and Glass Sealant

I've gone through MANY glass cleaners in the past, still looking for one that i truly like. I think i just may have finally found it. The smell was very nice. I mist my front mirror with 2 shots, and even though i didnt use Adam's glass cleaner towel, but another glass cleaning towel, i was very amazed at how easy and smooth it felt to wipe off the glass. Now, it could have been due to the fact that my glass was clayed and had detail spray on it, but it was very easy to wipe off and made my glass feel very smooth.Applying the sealant with the MF sponge was easy, and i followed the directions of going once horizontally, then vertically. Smelt very much like rubbing alcohol, and i waited about 5 minutes till it hazed up and cleaned it off with another shot of Glass cleaner. I'll see how it holds up to everyday driving. Grade A+

Overall, I am very pleased with what I got. Placed an order for the Total Interior Detail, so i'm looking forward to that. After using Adam's product for the first time, smell/scent definitely is one of the main plus, as well as ease of use. After a few days, i will see how well my car holds up to everyday driving. Mahalo Adam for making great, quality car care products. Can't wait for more!

  3. Anyone dilute the Deep wheel cleaner? I maintain my wheels everytime i wash, so wondering if diluting it will be ok in order to get more out of it.

*Note, i have yet to use it since i will be getting it this weekend. But just wondering if i should dilute it when i do?

    Thanks for your advise,

    Ryan

  4. No prob Ryan, that's what the forums are for. My advice is to be safe and go with DWC. I've discovered that if you go too long between washes and the dust really builds up, the softer methods of GWC or SHAMPOO in a bottle mix just doesn't cut it. I've kinda switched up to using DWC every wash now unless I'm doing a touch up wash and the dust isn't bad. But with my wife's car it gets heavy quick so I'm sticking to DWC and no QS.

Appreciate your feedback! DWC it is.

    Mahalo,

    Ryan

  5. My first car was a black car. I told myself my next car will not be a black car because of all the work needed to make it look sexy.. Bought my second car and what color did i get, yep.. black. It just looks too darn sexy when all nicely detailed. I've never regretted it. Wonder what color my next car will be???

  6. Thx guys, the wheels are sparkly clean now. I think I'll do another deep cleaning the next time. Does the DWC strip the QS? I want to clay them and QS next time. I haven't clayed them yet.

Thanks Tony for sharing that. I too have a BMW and i regularly wash my wheels with just car shampoo and water cause i do notice a build up of brake dust. I'm going to switch over to Adam's products soon and one of my question was whether or not to go with the gallon of DWC or GWC.

I read that you have used the GWC as well, but doesn't give you the same results as the DWC? Being a bimmer owner as well, would you recommend I just get the DWC?

    Thanks for your advice,

    Ryan

  7. K guys, i plan to get the gallon kit at my local Adam's polish dealer this coming weekend for my bday.

My question is, which gallon of wheel cleaner should i get? I regularly maintain/wash my 3 cars. My newest BMW doesn't have much brake dust on them since i regularly wash my wheel whenever i give it a wash. I heard the GWC doesnt really get rid of brake dust? If that's the case, should i just get the gallon of DWC just in case later on i do need something stronger? Would Adam's car shampoo mixed with water be a sufficient wheel cleaner, and thus i dont need the GWC? I've never used any Adam's product besides the Detail Spray and Polish, so this is all new to me.

In addition, my gallons that i plan to get are:

    Car shampoo

    Waterless Wash

    All purpose

    Detail

    Either GWC or DWC.

What you think of those? (BTW - i live in Hawaii, so economically it's wiser for me to get the gallons since i can get it at my local dealer instead of having to pay double for shipping).

    Mahalo for any advise,

    Ryan

  8. My car is new so the wheels are very clean however, its a BMW and the brake dust is hard to stay ahead of.

The DWC is amazing stuff though. I was using it on an 09 BMW and it got the wheels looking as good as what you see here.

I just ordered some woollies to reach back into the barrels. Up to now , all I have been using is the lug nut brush and the boars hair brush.

I'd be surprised if you tried DWC and didn't really like it.

Thanks. I too have a BMW so that's why I was asking. Been using eagle wheel cleaners, but I could never get the brake dust fully cleaned off. So when I heard about Adams, I've been debating whether or not to get GWC or DWC.

  9. What tools did you use to clean your wheels and how dirty was it prior to cleaning it? I dont have the dwc but I regularly maintain my wheels every time I was my car. Will be buying some Adam products next week and it's either the dwc or green wheel cleaner. I already have the woollies and thinking about the lug nut brush.

  10. I read the sticky on what tape to use, but it didn't really tell me what over the counter tape i should use.

So what tape has worked best for you guys? I was thinking the 3M blue tape should be ok for the car paint? If not, any other recommendations and what NOT to get?

Going to drop by home depot in a few hours today, so hopefully i can get some recommendations before i leave.

    Mahalo,

    Ryan
