First time Polishing

J.greenroyd

Question

Last week my dad gave me a dewalt dwp849x rotary polisher. Many people said to take it back and get something less agressive so i wouldnt mess up the paint but i wanted to try it anyways. At first the polisher was quite jumpy and i started at 1000rpms. Once i got comfortable with it i took it up to 1400rpms and it handled pretty well. I think i did pretty good for my first time ever using a polisher.

Started the strip wash at 2oclock, then dried everything off, clayed, wiped the detail spray off then taped everything off. I dont have many pictures so im sorry in advance.

This was after claying just a 2'x2' area on the hood.

I finished polishing and sealing at 2 AM...12 straight hours on that truck wore me out. This was taken after the 12 hour cure for the machine super sealant. Unfortunately my only after picture of the truck. This is the front passenger door. I will be doing my truck in a week or two and ill make sure to take alot more pictures!
