Hi from Virginia Beach!

Hey everyone! I'm Mike, I've lived in Virginia Beach all of my life and I'm a full time ODU business student. I'm a Ford guy at heart, but I drool just as hard as any if I see a sweet looking ride that's detailed right!

I'm still relatively new to detailing. I was introduced to Adams quite a few years ago when my dad got a detail spray sample form a car show a few years ago, man that stuff smells awesome! I haven't made my own first Adams purchase yet though. I've been using Meguiar's products due to the cheap price and me not knowing any better. My buddy Chris, who is on these forums, has started to convince me to make the switch. I've seen him using nothing but Adam's products on his cars and truck and I've always seen him get awesome results, better than any Meguiar's stuff. I'm kinda envious. lol I'm in the market to get started, at least with the basics. The paint on my T-bird isn't in the best of shape though, but I do have my mom's new Blue Candy colored Ford Fiesta that I could keep looking awesome.

The only buffer I have is a rotary, that's all I really know how to work with. To my understanding, a rotary is one of the hardest buffers to handle/master. I plan to get a Flex one of these days, but the dough I get to work with is very tight, so that might take me a while. So yeah, here I am. I'm looking to learn a little more about the fine art of detailing and get to know what real detail products are like!

So I'm looking to buy my first set of Adam's detail products. I've been looking at the Essentials kit. It looks like a great deal. Does anyone have any other suggestions? I'm on a shoe string budget here, so I can't go crazy quite yet.

Welcome to the forums. Once you get started on the Adam's path, there is no turning back. You can't work your budget around Adam's. You have to work Adam's into your budget. Lot's of good advice and great products to be had here.

Welcome from another VA Beach guy. Good basic kit there. You're gonna blow through that 1 16oz detail spray though. Since you're local and starting out, I have about 1/3 a gallon of the old formula spray I'll give you if you want. Just PM me.

Welcome to the family! Yes, we want pics - good or bad! :)

Seems like we have a LOT of Hampton Roads crew here. Why not have a meet of some kind? Spring appears to be here for real this time. Just a thought!!

I'll be attending the detail clinic on 05/04/13 held at Thompson Racing up in PA and renewing my stock of adams (even though I have a clost full). Check it out.

My user album has a good amount of the good pics, they were taken 2 years ago. If I take any pics now, it'll be nothing but bad. lol

I'll get some of those when the weather is a tad nicer...and there's less pollen. If I wash the T-bird, it goes from green to yellow again after a few hours.
