Polishing with failing clear coat

Will!

Question

Hey guys, I am wanting to give my mother in laws black accord the Adams treatment but her clear coat is starting to fail along the roof. It's just a couple of small spots not even the size of a dime but I am worried that I may cause it to fail worse than it already is.

Would it be ok to polish out the roof with the PC and the Adams trio or am I going to make the clear coat failure worse?

I agree with Roshan. You'll probably end up making it worse, so avoid it, then seal and wax.

Also make sure to rule out oxidation, they look similar.

Edit: you said a "couple of spots"...probably failure then.

Here are a couple of pictures of the area that I think is failing. I'm wondering if I tape this edge off would I be good to go to polish?

Sort of looks like the Civic I'm working on today.

I had to wet sand the entire car and have to say it looks great.

Look at my thread called, What a mess, or something like that.

I posted a video of me doing it.

Not telling you to tey what I did but take a look.

Kevin

The paint correction wasn't working until the sanding first.

Looks awesome not I must say.
