Polishing Diamondplate

KYmxracer52

Question

Can a person use the 4" focus metal polishing pads to polish diamond plate, or do you think it would rip them up? I'd be using them with a drill. Hate to polish a large toolbox all by hand. Thought about topping it off with QS afterwards. Would that hold the shine longer?

In my opinion, it just depends on how rugged the ridges are in the diamond plate.  If you were to use the 4inch pads with a drill I would have it on a slow speed to reduce the amount of damage to the pad if there is any.

Quick Sealant will be a great topper for it as well.

I have destroyed my metal polishing pads doing tool boxes. Sopke with some people on a different detail forum and they recommend wool pads for polishing diamond plate. I did it with great success with the wool pads on my flex.

Good to know. I'll look around for a good wool setup.
