OIF Vet Posted March 15, 2009 Share Posted March 15, 2009 I met Kid Rock on Christmas of 2006 while he was making his rounds in Iraq. He should up to our FOB (Forward Operating Base) via a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. I had 4 soldiers trying to talk to him before we rolled out on our next mission and they kept getting shot down by the security detail. So I came up with some off the wall story and next thing you know, they were in there talking with Kid Rock. Even though I was away from my family on Christmas, seeing my soldiers talk, laugh and take pictures with Kid Rock made my day (even though they were flipping the #1).
