If you don't own a Great White then order one as soon as you read this post, go straight to the store here and get it...

...let the junkyard know what you're going to do and they might even let you return the hood later for a full refund.
I never thought of this! I might actually try that.

This sounds awesome. I have yet to go the full route -- I've stopped at washing & VRT on the wheels (the car is 2 months old). I'm getting a "practice car" this week (I'm going to surprise my mom). I'm hoping to learn some things about the polisher...
Great thread -- great inspiration.

Looking great!! My wife got a new car about a week ago. Three days later I washed it along with mine. At first she asked why, but afterwards, she understood...

Traffic cameras (including toll bridges), and dealing with stolen vehicles. Also identification after hit & runs, crimes, etc... Lots of reasons. Mainly it's to piss of auto buffs.

I'm probably going to try in on the WRX before I work on the Hot Wheel. Kind of my "test car."

THIS:
1) Adam's E-Z up tents. I'd love to work outside with a nice breeze and not worry about the sun causing water spots etc on my paint. I love working on my car, however, I am one of the rare cats that would prefer to work on the car outside as opposed to the garage. In my case, my garage is about 20 degrees hotter than the outside temp. In the summer, this can be unbearable during hot days. Talk about dusting.....
Due to two kids & 20 years of marriage and too many hobbies, I don't have room to detail in the garage, so a tent would be awesome. Of course, I guess I could just drive down to Target....

Old guy, new to detailing. I've never owned a car that I wanted to hand wash/dry/wax/detail. I would just go to the local wash/hand-dry place or simply the drive-through (most often with no dry ).
Now I have MORE than one car that I hand wash/dry. I purchased the sampler kit, and have since bought buckets, grit-guards, a fender brush, green wheel cleaner, detail spray and more micro-fiber towels than I'm willing to admit to my wife.
I've been too chicken to dry clay-baring and polishing/waxing yet. I have a clay bar kit, and I just ordered a PC7424XP, so I'm slooooowly moving that way...
Love the videos, and so far the products have been great. Thanks for hosting this community. I was not aware of the detailing hobby, or at least the extent of it.

A shot of him wrapped up in a double-soft would be awesome. Congrats!!
