  1. In the plowing community fluid film is all the rage for rust protection I've heard great things
  2. jason there are several competitions we competed in this summer. 2 of the competitions were 100th anniversary parades and the last was the big annual boon ton fire parade that has been made high in terms of apparatus judging. here is the link for one of the judging associations that judge these competitions http://www.njstatejudges.org/
  3. My 2009 pierce manufacturing 100 ft tower ladder measuring 49 feet long and 82,000 pounds took home 4 trophies in 3 competitions it competed in this past summer, of those 4 trophies 3 were first place and the bronze statue is the first place aerial trophy for one of the most prestigious is not the most prestigious competitions in the state of new jersey. As you can imagine it took hundreds of hours to clean this truck but using the adams product line made it easy and put us one step above the rest when show cased. I thank adams products for the hundreds of smiles of children and thumbs up given by professional judges during the parade routes. my write up for this truck will commence once spend more time correcting my sleep schedule then i do my paint on this beast.
  4. Recently I have taken to the task of doing a full detail on a 48 foot tower ladder fire truck. the wheels on this truck are alcoa wheels which i believe are aluminum. These wheels are not clear coated and MP 1 & 2 does great work on them however i am looking to take some minor scratches and imperfections out. would 0000 steel wool with MP work to remove these followed up with a 4inch metal polishing pad on a cordless and then glazed sealed and waxed? thanks
  5. Adams is a small world, the kid who introduced me to adams s a member of bernardsville fire with chuck ferrante
  6. I will post before and after pictures but here is one from when we first started, the truck has required a lot of work but i think everyone will like the after photos
  7. Hey guys, I am new to detailing and don't really work on conventional cars, I drive a suburban and love to take care of it but until I buy my new pickup I am not in love. I am however in love with detailing my fire trucks. Earlier in the year i was asked by older guys in my department if we would consider cleaning a truck to parade quality like they "used to do" with cans of spray paint and brake fluid to shine the tires. being new to detailing i was in way over my head and started reaching for over the counter mothers and mequiars products like i had before. Our truck was clean as far as i thought until i asked for the help of a guy from a neighboring company who showed up with what looked like a truck full of various sprays waxes, pads and towels and he introduced me to Adams. needless to say our truck wasn't really clean but after using adams stuff for a little while I have moved on to more things like machine polishing. since that day our truck has taken home multiple trophies including a first and second place in various show competitions. I am so thankful to adams for giving my 48 foot ladder truck a new lease on life and i look forward to much more detailing in the near future
