  1. LFairbanks, you are correct. I stand corrected. I found that same site after I made my post and after it was too late to edit it My bad. So as a consumer the law doesn't protect me, but if I use the same products in a work environment, Adam's is required by law to provide them. That said, I would think a company like this would welcome working with me in being protective of my family's health and safety? Seems like providing MSDS sheets when requested is such a small thing they could do to help the interested customers? Again, I don't begrudge anyone the right to expose them self to chemicals or to take any risks they wish. Please do not disparage my choices and desire to understand and know.
  2. . Well I was really hoping they would. A small grassroots start-up style business like this is the kind I like to support. We need more inovators and those willing to take risks and start up businessses. However, when I placed my order in early July, I also requested the MSDS sheets. Adam's Polishes did not send me the MSDS sheets. They did not even respond to my request. Therefore, I came here and asked the question on how to obtain them. Still do not have the MSDS sheets nor do I have a pledge that they will make them available.
  3. Wow! I asked a simple question about obtaining documents that are required to be provided by law, documents that I can use to assess the health and environmental risks of using your products and instead of just telling me how I might obtain them, it appears you have turned this into a public obfuscation. First you cast aspersions on my use of the information by asking why I wanted them. The information is required by OSHA to be provided when requested, I should not have to justify why I want it. But being a nice guy I did that - told you I was concerned with what I am being exposed to by using your products. Still that was not enough? More aspersions... What does it take to get MSDS Sheets out of your company? Then in trying to down play the importance of an MSDS sheet you said this: MSDS sheets are extremely tough to read by anyone other than a chemist. Worse than a legalese contract! 1. This, on whole, is just not true. The sections on Exposures and Health Risks should be written such that the layman can understand them and understand what chemicals they are exposed to, what are appropriate safety measures to take, etc.. These sections should be straight forward and accessible by all. Weren't MSDS sheets created as a result of OSHA regulations as part of the "Worker Right To Know" provisions and as such that is one of their primary purposes - to allow those who work around or use any product to know what they are exposed to and how to protect them self? Sure with many products the risks might be benign, but that doesn't take away a worker's "right to know." 2. But are you implying that I or your other customers are too stupid to read MSDS sheets? One of the key sections of a MSDS sheet is a section on what Personal Protective Equipment is suggested when using the product. I will know how to protect myself when I read the sheet and I will understand the risks of using the product. Someone might say, "just use gloves" which might be directionally correct but some chemicals permeate latex, others permeate nitrile. But I want to go to the source material (the MSDS) and see what the "experts" have written on what I am exposed to and how to protect myself. That is my right. Why say things to try to take away that right or make it difficult to “know?” Why make it difficult for me to protect my health and my family’s health when using your products? I also note that other key sections of an MSDS sheet are the Hazards Identification section with potential health effects, chronic effects, etc. Then there is a First Aid section which identifies appropriate measures in case of an accident. Oh and Handling and Storage sections too. So I don't know why one thinks this is only applicable to shippers,In surers and others and not the end users? Does it take a degree in chemistry to be able to read these sections and understand how to apply first aid? I did not come on this forum to stir up any debate - I came because I made an appropriate request through Adam's channels and had not been sent the information. I figured the public question would get attention – and it did. I was looking for a stand up guy who would tell me how to get the information quickly - that is not what I have found rather it appears I have gotten inferences that I am up to something nefarious, reasons why you don’t want to provide the information and suggestions that I couldn’t understand it if I got it. Jeez. Look, I do not leave decisions on my health open to debate or to public opinion, I like to go to the source material and evaluate the risks myself. I understand that many people may choose to manage their health or risks in their life differently and that is fine, it is just not for me. This is a free country, please do not begrudge me the “right to know” as afforded by current law. We typically provide this information, however if the request comes dorm JoeBlow@gmail.com, we question the intentions of the requestor. Fair? NO! While I can understand several business reasons for your skepticism, however I see many competitors have their MSDS sheets accessible online. Also, I do not believe the law allows you to pick and choose who you send the information to when you receive a valid request. So I am not interested in an online debate, nor scoring points - just being protective of my health and safety. Please provide the MSDS sheets from my request. Thanks!
  4. Hi Adam, What is is on my mid is that I like to know what chemicals I am being exposed to when using "professional products" rather than consumer products. Can you tell me how to obtain the MSDS sheets? Prior attempts have not been successful. -Don BTW - Wouldn't any shop with employees need to have MSDS sheets on file in order to statisfy "Worker Right To Know" regulations?
  5. Hey, does Adman's have Material Safety Data Sheets for its products? Are they accessible on line? If not how does one go about obtaining them?
  6. Thanks 2Quikta! Much appreciated. How do I strip them? You mean one can't remove the clear coat and buff then reapply?
  7. Need some help. Started restoring an old car - started with wheels. Lots of neglect and tons of built up brake dust & tar on the barrels. Face of wheels are clear coated over paint or polished Al, divots clear coated over textured Al surface. Started out washing the wheel with nylon scrub brush and dish soap. Got some dirt and grime off. Here is the before shot. Then applied some Deep Wheel Cleaner. Scrubbed barrels with a nylon brush figuring I was metal polishing later anyway. DWC in action - it is working! Kept applying DWC and periodic scrubbing over about an hour. Final, active, firm scrubbing with a Scotch-brite scouring pad and then rinse. This is the result. So I am wondering what more can be done? There are some raised black splotches that look to be tar like. I scraped the larger ones off, but more remain. There is some white oxidation too. The face of the wheel is a different story. They appear to be painted or highly polished and clear coated. Most of the normal "dirt" came off with washing, but the "divots" had caked on brake dust. {sorry about the bad shot - too much zoom!} So I sprayed DWC in the dviots and scrubbed them with a very soft toothbrush. Repeated aplications (3-4?) and scrubbing seemed to work pretty well. Most of the divots (75%) look like this with maybe one or two very small spots. Pretty amazing that DWC was able to disolve the hardened, caked on stuff! A few places still have some build up, but most of the gunk was taken off by DWC! Pretty darn amazing! Found some scratches on the clear coat when I was done, but was able to polish them out with the buffer and some polishing compound. Have a few spots where clear coat is chipped or gone so may need some touch up there. So where do I go from here? Any kind of help is appreciated!
  8. OK, like some others, wanted to check in and report tha indeed FedEx came through and delivered today! Found the stuff in good shape, well packaged. [Double walled cardboard - first rate!] Thanks team for surviving the scamble! Now I'm putting the stuff to use....
  9. I believe the new distribution center is in Reno, NV (western NV) Here is the FedEx Ground delivery time map. (click image to enlarge)
  10. Hi Adam - Found this thread and thought I might add my 2-cents worth...recognizing that, in fact, it may be worth even less! Anyway, kudos for the thread and the apology! You'll never make it as the CEO of a Fortune 100 company by admitting mistakes! LOL! jk But me thinks your customer base will love you. What I see here is brilliant! A company that doesn't advertise heavily, but relies on social media to do its selling, has to be responsive in kind when problems crop up. Your handling is masterful so far. I found you via social media - the many responses from Adams crew on one of the car care club forums. Of course wandered over to the website, watched a bunch of videos. etc. So I decided to give you a try on my current project. Anyway, I had the great "fortune" of ordering on July 10 in the "eye of the storm." Email receipt was received the same day, so all good there. Now evidence of the storm - the info from "My Account" said my order was shipped on July 12. Actually that looks like the info was sent to FedEx on the 12th but the box not picked up until 14-Jul. OK so perhaps my rotten luck for ordering later in the week and inadvertently stepping into the eye of the storm? Sigh. I understand the issue you face and without the explanation of this thread would be thinking twice about being a customer in the future. So thank you and good luck! Now that said, as others have noted the FedEx tracking really stinks! You are right, I have been accustomed to fast shipping and delivery with online orders. But one thing that keeps my blood pressure down is being able to see updates on where my "stuff" is located and how it is progressing. [in my case the FedEx info has not been updated since Monday!]. Oh sure it says I'll get it on Saturday, but being able to "see" the progress allows any aggression to be directed toward the shipping company and not the seller. So no updates since Monday really burns me. Jeez. And it looks like time from order to deliver is going to be 9-days! er, provided that FedEx decides it will deliver to a residential address on a Saturday. [I'm biting my tongue trying not to make some crack about driving out to Louisville, CO and back for my next order and beating it home. eh, that would never work, would end up throwing a rope over a few routes in Boulder! Bastille anyone?] Hmmm, now hope I don't get myself in trouble, but... if you were getting slammed with orders and half your customers are on the East Coast, why move ALL of the shipping to Reno and add two days delivery time to those orders? If one is going to be able to ship them from TN or PA, then wouldn't it have made sense to ship those orders heading east from Louisville? Hey, I'm just sayin'. Now I don't know if you have any influence with FedEx, but for YOUR orders, and what this does to the frustration level of your customers, one might think about pushing back or some kind of contract change or carrier change? jmho. Use to be that its tracking was the reason one shipped with FedEx. But on other orders from other retailers, I have had the same thing and worse. In fact, Fed Ex on a couple of occasions recently, sent my stuff out to the wrong city and on the wrong truck for delivery, for the day, adding an additional 2-days to the delivery time. This from a company that advertises "logistics" in their TV adverts? Jeez. The good old USPS seems to being doing it better. Oh and I'd suggest you think twice about seeking out that unholy marriage between the shippers and the USPS. For what appears to be nothing more than another hub transfer, that seems to add all kinds of time and hassle to the deliver. Tracking either becomes impossible as there is no USPS tracking number or one has to search two websites. No, the slickest thing I have seem was a company that used an East Coast local delivery company. Admittedly the items originated in NC, so not too far to travel up I-95 to get here. But this private company actually delivered the stuff on a Sunday at no additional cost! Now that was impressive! Yeah, I vote for PA for the location of your regional hub. er, unless you would consider DE which already has an Amazon warehouse and thus a knowledgeable and trained workforce! Anyway, good luck on the changes!
