  1. When I get to the Glaze step I already have a clayed, polished, and sealed paint. I then apply the Glaze by hand and it goes on very effortlessly and buffs off just as easy. Maybe you are just having a hard time seeing the thin coat on the silver paint. My wife's Yukon is an off white so I don't even use Glaze on it though I could and it probably would make a difference. But I go with a LSP of liquid paint sealant and/or Americana and skip the Glaze on the light colored paint.

  2.

thanks for the input, i don't have machine polishing.

i am not confident on machine polishes yet at this point, but i'm very careful on washing and drying my car.

Using Adam's Polishes with a dual action orbital machine will not damage your paint. My Lexus probably has one of the softest paints around. I use the Finishing Polish with a Griot's Garage 6" and 4" polishing machine without any fear of marring my paint. Use it with confidence.

  3. thanks for the input, i don't have machine polishing.  My car had opticoat protection applied and most of the time i do two bucket washes, previously drying using Duragloss aquawax/detail sprayers.

Ready to switch with Adam's equivalent versions.  My BMW F31 is just over a year old driving about 18k km.  i am not confident on machine polishes yet at this point, but i'm very careful on washing and drying my car.

  4. Yes sir that is exactly what I plan on doing.

Well I moved on from my roof. To doing my hood last night.

This pic is just after using the Correcting Polish! I went in to eat then came back out and finished with the Finishing Polish, and to top it off a coat of Buttery Wax!

I really wanna try Americana wax as I have heard awesome things about it. But MAYBE someday I can see some Patriot Wax make another run and get some. So ill stick with Buttery for now.

Personally, I would put a layer of Liquid Sealant, and/or Brilliant Glaze between the Polish and wax.  The Sealant will provide longer protection than just the Buttery Wax by itself.  The Glaze is an option.

    Polish > Sealant > Wax

  5. I too am waiting for my Griot's buffer to burn out. I just don't use it enough, I guess. Maybe 6-8 times a year. Slowly I have been switch from Griot's to Adam's products because of cost of product and shipping as well as superior quality of product. Adam's has better "specials" and I'm really impressed with his Americana premium wax.

Nothing wrong with using Griot's DA orbital with Adam's Products. I'm impressed with ALL of Adam's Products and I'm the biggest skeptic out there. I'm not a professional detailer, so I'm satisfied with my GG machine's performance. But I'm sold on Adam's Products.

  6.

Yes to all above for the most part. Bang for buck you can't go wrong for the griots machine, it is lifetime warrantied so if it burns out they will get you a new one.

I support Adams products and pads and I suggest if you do get the griots machine in our to support Adams you can use their 7" pads on the machine and the 4" pads will also work for tighter areas if you also get their 4" backing plate.

Cordless drill pads are for SPOT DEFECT removal only, not for use for correcting large areas.

You are correct that your Subaru has extremely soft and sticky paint, I would use the finishing polish with the Uber Green or even the Uber Blue pads if you bought the package from Phil.

Jason is correct. My Lexus has soft paint and Adam's Finishing Polish was all that was needed to completely remove the swirls on my paint. I used a GG machine with 4" back plate with Adam's white foam pads. Finished it off with the Liquid Paint Sealant, Brilliant Glaze, and Americana wax. However for you to finish you need something on top of the polish as polish alone leaves zero protection. Sealant as a minimum.

  7. Thanks again, one last question, as I said I have never used the PC on the Porsche, only hand waxed. I trust that I don't need to worry about buffing too deep into the clearcoat or clearcoat damage considering I hand waxed every couple of months? In otherwords I would imagine that I have plenty of clearcoat on the car given that I have never used a polishing tool on it.

Jeff, my Lexus has probably the softest paint (read easy to scratch and leave swirl marks) on any vehicle and I've used the Finishing Polish with a DA machine without any fear with great results. Try the Liquid Paint Sealant>Brilliant Glaze>Americana wax combination.
