  1. Thanks all. Looks like I will use my Brilliant Glaze with the red pad and do the wax by hand.
  2. So when I bought my product, I also got the machine sealant and waxing pad. I thought I had seen a video somewhere that said you can apply the paste wax with a machine. I can't find any such video now after much searching. Was I just a dummy and imagined it, or is there such a video?
  3. Thanks, I just used the videos you get when you go to the main page and go to paint correction. Unfortunately, from the main page there is nothing indicating there are different videos for the Porter Cable. That would be a good idea to have up. I'm not even sure how you get to that page from the main page. Perhaps your website designer could, when you select the category you are looking at (in this case paint correction), have it take you to a page where you select the machine you are using. Maybe have a picture of the different machines. The person selects the picture which then takes them to the correct video. Not sure how many videos for how many different machines you have. I would guess you have one for Griot's as well.
  4. Thanks Dylan. I went ahead and used it yesterday to see if it makes a difference. I followed the videos for paint correct, and in them all 4 pads are used. I started out and did half the car with just the orange microfiber, followed by the orange foam, then the white foam, and not all the swirls and scratches were coming out (ones that pass the fingernail test). In the video he used the white microfiber before the white foam, so I added that step yesterday. Sad to say, I didn't really see any improvement in results. I know my technique and speed is good - I go significantly slower than in the video. What I did see at the end of the session was a nice white ring in the middle of my backing plate that doesn't come off courtesy of the hole in the middle of the pad. I will talk with your shipping department about returning it. Figure that can go toward some more detail spray.
  5. PC 7424XP. Thanks, I may give it a try. I looked at the pad selection on the site, and of course they still have the white foam microfiber listed, but the black foam microfiber isn't. I wonder why that is. I'm new to the paint correct world, but it's my understanding that there is something different about the foam that, while you have a microfiber layer on it, the foam underneath really does make a difference. That's why you have orange foam for cutting (and using with the orange product), white foam for finishing, and the black foam for your machine sealant and wax. If the color of the foam is irrelevant when it's a microfiber on top, then an orange foam microfiber should work just fine with the paint finishing polish. What am I missing here?
  6. I bought a lot of product last week and included in it was supposed to be the white microfiber 7" pad. Needless to say it didn't come. What did come in it's place was a black foam microfiber pad. One little difference though - there's about a 1" hole in the middle of it all the way through the pad. My thought is if I use this, product will get slung up inside the pad and onto my backing plate. Really don't want product on my backing plate - it's more effective on the car. Am I missing something?
