  1. Ironically in the two months I've been using my new Adam's products on clients vehicles, I had never used them on mine. Anyway, I got up at 6:30 this morning and did a full detail. I wasn't done until 1 in the afternoon. I sprayed it down with suds, hand washed it, blow dried it, clay barred, made two passes one each section with the swirl and haze remover, made a pass with the time machine polish, and one pass with the machine superwax. Man, I was tired.... I didn't want to wait for my buttery wax and americanna wax to come in next week, but I'll do another wax 2 weeks from now. The pictures were taken right under the sun so it's cleaner than it looks. Tell me what you think!!!! :xfingers:

  2. Nope... sadly I don't even have PS anymore... when I switched to mac I lost my copy and refuse to pay the asking price for a piece of software. I love photoshop, but in now way is it worth the price they're trying to charge for it.

All I did was correct the white balance in iphoto to reduce the glare.

My new macbook pro gets in tomorrow. I'm kinda bummed now that you told me I can't switch my photoshop over

  3. I used to be the same way, so I know how you feel! Being a person who relies on making lists for everything (I have a HORRIBLE memory), I came up with a quick solution: draw a line down the middle of a piece of paper - left side for "needs" and right side for "wants". Don't buy anything from "wants" until your "needs" are completely scribbled out :)

I will definitely give that a shot

  4. Depends on what you buy :) To go off topic for a second: Spend money on things that make you go faster while giving you great results and you'll have the stuff paid for (and back to making $$$) in no time!! i.e. Ace power stick and a quality drill with a few spare batteries, brush attachment for a Porter Cable to clean upholstery faster - small stuff like those things saves A LOT of time, which means you can do more cars in a day!! As far as wax goes, you can get your money back by offering it as a premium service (since it is a premium wax, right?). So, cheapo wax comes with a wash/wax/vacuum special - upsell the Americana in place of cheapo wax for a few dollars more. By the time your Americana tub runs dry, you should be able to buy 2 or 3 more tubs of it using the extra money you made.

The thing is there are plenty ofpeople who wash cars where I live. My success is attributed to my knowledge and proffesional equipment. I use those things to diversify myself. I have been able to make profits but I am not very self disciplined when spending my money. Thanks for the advice! Oh and ya I really just bought the Americanna for myself and clients who prefer more extensive details

  5. Rock it! I'm going to start sponsoring ChargerForums.com by the way but leave it up to you for the dissemination of shine!

Hey Jason, that's awesome that you are becoming a sponsor there. There are a ton of customers just waiting to hear about yalls products. See you on chargerforums!

  6. I would adjust your prices to who you are marketing to. In my business I typically charge by the job, but it usually ends up being close to $30 an hour. I make sure it is absolutely spotless though and my clients are all older and are moderately successful. My friends (18-23) say they could never afford what I charge, but they really don't understand how much money I've put into my equipment and so forth. It's very important to educate your clients on what makes you different from other detailers. I wouldn't have half of my clients if I didn't explain to them what I do differently than some 14 year old with a bath towel, some dawn dish cleaner, and a bucket. I would start out a little bit lower since you are working with college kids as your clients and then you can always move up if you feel you aren't getting what you should be. Hope I helped
