  1. hahahaha! Turning out nicely either way!
  2. Hi all, I have the 7424 with the old school backing plate (think SHR and FMP). I'm wondering if the new gen of 7" pads will fit this backing plate?
  3. I had fine machine polish start to do this on me the other day. Hot out, Black car. I primed the pad with more detail spray than I normally would use and just a BIT more polish and it seemed to do the trick. Good luck.
  4. Looks great Darryl, how are you attacking these things?
  5. Thanks, sure is pretty! I have the PC 7424 XP.
  6. Acquired a new car yesterday. It was a demo car for the local dealerships so it had seen the spin wash a lot. Anyway, this morning I started testing to see what it's going to take to get it right. Cleaned area with APC to remove whatever crap was on it, then clayed with detail spray. Attached afters are with the old Swirl and Haze Remover and Fine Machine Polish. One pass of each until flashed. Not 100% but we're moving in the right direction. Before. Trunk Lid. After. Trunk Lid. Before. Drivers rear quarter panel. After. Drivers rear quarter panel. What is everyones thoughts on the new Paint Correcting/Finishing Polish compared to the old style I'm using?
  7. Very Nice! Can't wait to get this thing polished out.
  8. Yes I traded Explorer in on Taurus. They paid it off, so I got out of the pricey payments I had on it and into something new. Explorer was only a "Loaded" (Sync and MFT) base model anyway. Was initially looking at a Titanium trim Fusion, but one sit and a quick spin in a Taurus and I was sold. Plus it's a limited with all the bells and whistles minus a sunroof. The black I know could be a bit of a chore, but that green and blue flake in it.....YES.
  9. Well to add to this... Gave it some love on Sunday. But there's a twist......... Left the Explorer at the dealership after looking, came home with THIS today! Tuxedo Black 2015 Limited Taurus demo car. You can tell the dealership tried to keep it clean, well...dealership clean. It's seen the ol' spinwash quite a few times I'd have to say. Stay tuned for some great before and afters. Oh, and I have to share this. This was a freshly "detailed" 2013 Mercedes C300 on the pre owned lot.
  10. haha, long enough. But you know how it goes when you get sucked into internet world But I learned some stuff and have some ideas on some little projects now!
  11. I'm waiting on some pictures. I'll post them as soon as I get them.
  12. Congrats Dan, Looks like a great time was had!
  13. Hi All, Had a potential customer approach me about doing a truck with some oxidation. Anything special to consider? Have not dealt with oxidation before. Thanks in advance.
  14. Finally got lost on the forum and read the entire thread . The truck looks fantastic and I seriously applaud how organized, informative and meticulous everything you post in the thread has been. The "vs/ Test" posts are great too!
  15. Figured I'd just leave these here as well. Can't say I didn't do my part haha
  16. Yes sir. I'm right there with you. It irritated me for a day or two, however I removed myself from the forum and any associates I had with said group. When they said "I'm sorry but we're not going to be referring anyone to you", I said "That's fine, I'd rather not be referred to anyone that is like minded with yourselves." Moving on
  17. Either way, thanks again for everyone's feedback on this.
  18. Thanks Hydro. I think that one of the 11 people living at the "house" took the truck out and didn't say anything...........
  19. You know Guz, it was hard to tell. From what I could tell they are flat black with a Pink spray paint job and some goofy plastic things that bolt on to them.
  20. Well funny thing about that, I did, even with attached screen shots of him describing the trucks condition to me... But he and his wife just so happen to be president of the forum/group that they were posted on. So needless to say, all my before pictures disappeared rather quickly. Go figure. Then their "VP" decided to post "Paying someone to do what you could do to your vehicle is like paying someone to (explicit) your significant other." I returned with "Funny thing about that, if someone was capable of doing so, why hire someone in the first place?" That was also deleted rather quickly
  21. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but it was EVERYWHERE. Had I known the interior was that bad, I would have either passed or required some more money. I totally lost my butt doing that truck.
  22. Thanks for your reply Chris. I didn't know the wheels had a bunch of bolt on stuff over the faces, and I wasn't anticipating having to take them apart to clean them, I did what I could and what I could get to. Trust me, we had quite a colorful conversation afterwards about how his view on what's acceptable is seriously distorted compared to the average being; myself included. I apologized they weren't 100% happy with what they were looking at and sent them the pictures of how the vehicle looked before I left that day. I have not heard back from them since. And like you mentioned, with the condition the truck was in, who knows if there was etching, permanent damage to wheels etc from lack of maint. Nothing stood out to me while I was with the vehicle all day, but you never know I guess. In this thread, I was asking if there was a possibility of there being a haze after they are dry and clean, the consensus I'm getting is......NO. Also like I said previously, this the first "issue" I've had with DWC. I've always had great results, even days after. I'm beginning to think the truck was joy ridden because that's the only picture I got. Their driveway is dusty gravel.
