  1. ok been reading forums on rinseless wash. decided it was time to add rinseless and waterless was to my skills. been doing some testing with it see how long average car takes, etc, etc,. boy are my family and friends who I use to test things on happy lol. ok now. I have been told and read that rinseless wash and waterless wash is the same thing difference being that to waterless wash has a weaker dilution rate and a nice fragrance added. is this true? same thing but different dilution rate?? just need to know. not mad or anything just want to know my options. by the way how does adams rinseless wash stack up to optimum no rinse? just starting to experiment with no rinse and rinseless stuff so I dont know if they are both on par.
  2. A lot of people have been saying that ceramic boost has been changed a while now. after reading these post I stopped short of throwing away my ceramic boost I got from mystery boxes, because I thought the product sucked. I read the label and noticed some of them had different things said on labels about how to use the products and it looked a little different. so I decided after reading people rave about a " new formula" a while back to give it another try. as in another post I made I loved it!!!! I didn't like the wet application to much although it did work but too much trouble, but the dry way was fantastic. I noticed a few things. after applying dry the more I wiped and buffed it shinned. I use it after a wax, or the ceramic paste wax and again worked the same way. I used it on plastic trim and I must say I will be using vrt a lot less ( tested it out on trim on my daughters jeep which has a lot of plastic trim, boy 2 months later and it is still just as shiny and protecting the first day I use it). for windows I still read a few complaints but this is what I did, I gave my daughters jeep which has huge windows a good detail clean ( strong window cleaner or apc clean then clayed it and eraser, I know I know over kill but it is how I do it, then adams aerosol window cleaner or adams liquid window cleaner) then I add the ceramic boost. boy works like the window sealant and helps keep prints off somehow It seemed to me. ok dont flame me for this but I also wanted to try it so I did. I had a friends car I use for testing who lets me do what I want ( he is always smiling and glad to let me) whos car has a lot of plastic trim in back so I took it inside and applied it on trim. say what you want but after that stuff is on and it comes back cleaning is a breeze. Finally I how someone from adams reads this. couple months back people were saying on forums the formula had changed and label seemed to confirm it. I called adams because of the great results I was getting. some of the people at adams were saying it had changed and some said I hadn't but that was a printing era. I know we have a new formula now but did it change before this big release? give us a official statement. all I know is one day I hated it and gave it another try and I promise you it worked different.
  3. I was turned off to ceramic boost. the first formula seemed very limited. I tried it once and the experience sucked. I got a couple bottles from mystery boxes and thought what a waist. then I read on forums that they improved the formula. now you can use it on glass and trim, wet and dry. I was chatting with a adams employee who told me he uses as a detail spray. I was still hesitant. I chatted this mourning with adams people again. chandler told me what I heard was true about new formula and it works great. he told me to wash car, he blows car off of 80% of water and the goes to town on everything exterior. I decided to try it on my daughters car. I washed car, misted car with detail spray and broke out the leaf blower got just about all the water off. now came it was the time. I was a little nervous. I grabbed a couple micro towels and took a leap of faith and went to town!! I started the first panel with spraying the boost on it working it on surface with one towel then using the other to buff it off. at first I was ready to call chandler some names behind is back, it was coming off hard. couple more swipes and I noticed the more I buffed it the slicker the paint got and the shinier it got. spraying it seemed a little wasteful so I ran to garage and grabbed a applicator. spray on applicator and rub on surface buff to a " don't lean on my car shine you might slip off " was so much fun I will confess I rubbed more than I had too, kept trying to see how I can get this car to pop like crazy. the windows were easy, and the effect on the trim was amazing. it shined and darkened like I used trim restorer. I was tempted to take it inside to see what it would do lol. the glass shined, the trim shined the chrome shined. shined and sealed in one hit. after using on my daughters jeep I only used maybe a quarter of the bottle and since I used this bottle to test on another car I could see it would last a while. after a while the applicater was wet with boost and so I had only to give a small spray on it before next panel or surface and it kept going and going. boost is now officially my favorite right now. WHY ARE YOU GUYS KEEPING IT A SECRET??? WHERE ARE THE VIDEOS???? The man The myth The legend The rookie Cedric
  4. was watching utube detail talk show talking about layering. their claim is putting a wax on top of a wax removes the first layer because wax is a solvent. is this true? also said you can up wax on top of a sealant but if you put sealant on top of a wax will remove the wax. is this true? is wax a solvent?
  5. Now that I think about it would this work? rinseless wash foaming up giving it a lifting action with foam and just wiping it off?? then second towel drying it? quick someone go out and try this now!!!!
  6. Thinking of buying a IK foam sprayer. just want to know what have you used in and did it work out or should I say did it foam? do you have to put water in everything to make it foam? chime in everyone. I want to know everything, apc, tire cleaner, iron remover, rinseless wash ( real curious about this one) lets roll on this
  7. Someone said on another post ( sorry cant remember who and where, but was a detailer that is always on here) that wax doesn't bond to the paint. Is this true?? the talk was about the never ending questioned about layer ( getting as bad as if a tree falls in the forest and no one around to here it …… etc etc) but someone asking about glaze and sealants and waxes. one guy said when using a sealant he wanted that best bond to the paint for it so he lays that on paint first then a glaze. he said when using a wax it doesn't matter because waxes do not bond to paint. is this true??? and does that included the new paste wax?
  8. Any one know where I can buy a detail bush with a very large head? I keep going on amazon and seeing example pictures of detail brushes, but the people who hold them must have very small hands. when I get on in the mail they are way smaller than they look. hope someone can point me in the right direction.
  9. hi Shane again. thanks for all the advice the only thing about texting and typing is that tone, facial expressions , etc , etc doesn't come out. I know how I must sound when I am typing. Most of those things I have discovered the easy or mostly the hard way. before committing to starting a home detailing business I read forums and watched videos for few months and talked to adams people mostly and others I knew were in or used to me in business like you so I knew what was coming. being a child of assembly line car makers who worked for GM I try as much as I can to stay with American products and companies. after some research and looking at other car detailing companies who make their own products I chose adams. some companies are American but outsource their products. Adams makes almost all of there chemicals ( bout 99%) and mostly just gets towels and some accessories made in other countries. I have to pay more but for good products and supporting American companies and jobs I am willing too. So when I sound out about something I am dissatisfied with I like to let them know before I move on. this has several times stopped me from doing that when I was contacted by adams people telling me to hold off they are coming out with something or improving something. So that is why I sound off good and loud and ask a lot of questions here and when I call. I chose adams as my primary products and want to stay. so keep commenting on my forums rant you and others have helped me a lot, specially adams people. after a year of practice and working on cars I am still addicted...… I mean excited about detailing. my plan for my neighborhood operations has just expanded from word of mouth. sent out flyers to neighbors. working out pretty good I dont have to buy a rig to drive around in they are bringing cars to my place ( boy is it handy). I make enough to pay for products, some good cash on the side of working, and feed my addic…….. I mean … uh ….. get to meet people, get closer to neighbors, supply a service to community, we the people in order to form a more perfect union establish justice ……. better stop there.
  10. I used it on several all the same. when I got the new iron remover I tried it out on that first. I bought a gallon of it and the ik sprayer around the same time. I got a exterior detail job and decided to try it out on it. boy even though I was trying to move fast it used up almost all of the iron remover in ik sprayer. same result with different chemicals. right now I am scared to try it on other stuff because I cant control how much comes out. I wasted almost half of the gallon on one car because of that sprayer. I think adams should hook up with another company for a sprayer. the ik waste a lot of product. I am not rich so when It used up some much of the iron remover and I got mad and said some things about adams ( sorry bout what I said about adams company and people I got mad ) lol. I am now scared to use the ik sprayer now feel like I wasted my money.
  11. is it just me or does the IK sprayer adams used apply to much product or is there a way I can turn it down? I control on the IK sprayer lets you widen and narrow how the product come out but does not lessen the amount. I go through to much of products to fast using it. or does using the fan nozzle help to limit it? I dont like to complain but maybe adams needs to keep search for a better spayer to sale. I do have another on from another complain which I want mention here and I can adjust how much comes out and as of now I fill it up with detail spray and boy does it go a long way. anyone have the IK spray notice this problem or have advice on how to use it? I want to stay with adams but that spray makes things expensive. how is it on the foamer?
  12. Anyone use a water deionizer? which brand? satisfied? do you use it to wash or just rinse? does using effect the washing?
  13. ok if you have read my question about patriot wax and the other paste waxes about storing this is not the exactly the same thing. I just want to know is it important to store any of the other chemicals in the house during the summer. has adams released any info about what chemicals will be no good after leaving in garage during the summer? I would hate to think I use a product I am wasting my time and cheating my customers. I know bout the paste waxes they are all in the house but how bout buttery wax and h20 guard & gloss? any other chemicals need to be in the house ?? adams the people deserve to know !!! any while you are at it are you guys jedi or sith? dark side or light side of the force? the people deserve to know!!! kareem or wilt? Daniel craig or shean connery??? Epson or HP?? mac or Microsoft?? glaze on top of paint seal or underneath?? is your favorite interior detailing or exterior??? The people deserve to know!!!!!
  14. from now on when I make a dumb mistake detailing I am going to say " boy, I am acting like J. R. Smith !!! lololololool ………… ok I thought it was funny.
  15. I get quit few customers with smelly cars , anyone use that cherry bomb yet? was it easy? did it do as advertise?
  16. I notice others sell a leather protector a cleaner and a leather conditioner. does the adams leather conditioner do anything but condition? 2) anyone try out that goo yet? how is that working out for you?
  17. Just got my jar of ceramic paste wax in, just want your idea's on how your are or how you are going to use it. I am keeping mine inside the house or do I need to keep it in fridge like the patriot wax. I am just interested how you are going to use it. since it last 5 to 6 months by itself are you still going to layer it some how? paint sealant then ceramic wax? ceramic wax / ceramic boost? Ceramic wax / patriot? how are you going to layer it if you are?
  18. I am keeping patriot wax in fridge is that good? or is that too cold
  19. I hope no one thinks less of me for this admission. please dont run me down, flame or persecute me. toughest thing I ever did ( takes another Kleenex from box, catches falling tear from left eye). I am a detailing shine-o-holic ( sobs loudly for a few minutes then gather myself). I have been busted looking at wheels in my church parking lot by the other members wonder what was I doing. at different parking lots security guards have watched me suspiciously wondering why I stopped on my way into store and looked at different cars maybe even taking a walk around them. one lady busted me kneeling done looking at her trim on the door and questioned me for 5 minutes because she said I was being evasive, I just couldn't bring myself to tell her I was a detailer and was wonder if I got a car that oxidized and what it would take to fix that trim. after I asked her is her trim naturally grey or originally black she rolled up her window and drove off with a frown on her face and put cell phone to here ear ( I got out of there just in case she was calling police). I keep a bottle of detail spray and a towel close by even when working on garden. couple times when my neighbor rolled up I shook hands looking at car and not them, said hold on and ran and got spray and proceeded to wipe off light dust without being asked. I looked up and played off my addiction by asking if he wanted me to test out a new product on his car the frown left his face and he said yes and got a free car wash ( that is not the first time that has happened, crying a little more now need another Kleenex ). please pray for me that I get over my issue. I have found that shine -o- holism is a disease not unlike drugs or alcohol. dont judge me to harshly!!!! it may happen to you!!!! Cedric The man The myth The legend The rookie
  20. ok been trying to wait. after detailing for the past year almost going to stream line my products to just what i need. wanted to work the ceramic paste wax in but dont even know if you are going to bring it back. can you give us some information? tell us something. when, size, how much it will cost. now that i am doing this as a side business i need to know to plain. working on keep cost down. i also noticed that other companies are making ceramic paste waxes but i dont see any of the American detail product makers like adams polishes making it. i choose you guys because i like to support American companies , willing to pay a little more for it most of the time, so help use out with some info on ceramic paste wax please. much appreciated . 21. Thought i was clear but maybe i wasn't excuse me. ok car comes in super dirty hasn't been cleaned in months. dirt, yellow sap, and lord knows what else. and along the bottom of the car a layer of everything i said plus what comes from the road. they call this traffic film i believe. what i like to do is apply something to this stuff let is dwell a while and rinse it off to get rid of all or most and soften up for wash. so i was wondering if anyone else does this? i notice on utube in Britain and Germany the detailer pretreat traffic film a lot. covering bottom or sometimes all paint services and rinsing off before snow foaming and washing. i been testing and i notice that when i pretreat ( best terminology i can think of) the dirty and lord knows what else comes off so much better and easier than just snow foaming. after the pretreat i contact wash and cars seem to be much cleaner. i dont have to worry bout using my polisher and finding my pads getting dirty, or when i surface prep with the chemical adams has for that and look at my towel it has dirt on it. dont know how much better to say what i am asking
  22. they had enough people yesterday at work so i left. was going to do my car but just before i turned on a vac, someone walked up and wanted a inside out detail done. we talked i looked at the car and we settled on a price. boy car was messed up, not to old but the dog hair sheesh. super dirty carpets, dusty seats, no wash in months, super dirty painted wheels and a burn red lay on tires. got it done though. my plan is working. neighbors see me doing cars and are bringing cars to me so i dont have to do mobile detailing! as a weekend warrior starting to feel good bout this addic...... i mean new business i got into. thanks for advice everyone specially thanks to adams people i bug on phone!!!
  23. As i look at utube, i do it a lot, i notice that in Britain and Germany most of the detailers do a lot of pretreating there paint before a detail. I started doing it when i first started came naturally to me. but i notice that in America the detailers dont talk about pretreating a lot. why? man it makes cleaning a car faster when that stuff is either removed or soften up so just a rinse with take it off. how come i dont see a lot of that in American detailers? just wondering. i wish adams would make a pretreatment i can use when i am stripping a car for a detail, or a dirty car for was or detail. what do you people use for a pretreatment if you do. and if you dont why not. chime in everyone please the rookie needs to be schooled some more. 24. Thanks Shane appreciated every thing you said. I already knew most of it from mouths of watching videos, but sometimes i get carried away is all. Just for info I am pushing toward the detailing more and my customers know it. like some of my neighbors will pull up while i am doing a car and ask is that a detail, if i say yes they know i want be able to get them in most likely for a wash or quick wash ( that is someone who just wants a wash, no vacuum or wipe down, tire dressing etc). Except for one customer after i wash there car they have all come back or want to schedule a detail. most of the people i oversell to are family and close friends but i have over done it a few times. last 2 cars i did i got disciplined because i was timing myself, i did the interior and exterior straight with no extras regular wash. customers were happy. from the cars i did over sell the customers who usually go to a wash in neighborhood knew immediately i over did it and told me same stuff you did lolol. but i did make some good tips so i was ok, real good tips for regular washes. i got a plan and is working out ok. i got a live in quality control supervisor and that person makes sure i dont get out of hand, most people call that person a wife. she gets mad when i do a little extra behind her back. one of my neighbors whos cars didn't get washed in months and i mean months was my product tester while i was learning in the past year. after i told him testing was over unless i get some new stuff and need a dirty car he had no problem, he even encouraged me not to lower my prices because i have gotten twice as fast doing a good detail now that i have learned a lot of tricks from you guys on forums and utube. but boy was he sad when i started charging him almost full price lolol { almost he is my next door neighbor and i did use his cars for testing} . so i my have sounded hopeless but not to bad i now tell everyone prices and they take it or leave it. since my prices are customizable you know, " want a exterior detail but i dont want to pay that much can you leave the wheels alone? " but boy do i have to restrain myself seeing a car drive from my house with dirty wheels lolol. curse you adams for getting me addicted!!!!! from reading forums and utube i had choices start low and add to price building up to want they want or state my prices for a detail and cut back. starting high is working out good. the amount of products i am using now is lowering ( sorry adams lol) as i get to know what i am doing. making money. i bought all my products with one credit card and am now paying it off got in cut in half in one month so doing ok. i want tell you how much i paid for my big order when i got serious lol. thanks again everyone especially adams people on phone and today you shane for advice
