  1. the mini cooper is a 1996, when i got the car i thought it was steel gray with black brake calipers ,when i was done i was shocked by how dirty it was.
  2. Good Lord it is hard to give people only what they pay for!! please pray for me that i stop over selling too much. someone wants a 20 dollar wash, vacuum, interior wipe down and tire dressing, should take me half hour to 45 minutes. they tell me to take my time. you know the story car hasn't been washed in months i just cant let a car leave my driveway with out a certain level a clean sheesh!! am i a addict? a shine junkie? a gloss freak? i think i am going to start a support group before i stop making a profit. dont laugh!!! how come no one told me!!!!! detailing is a disease no unlike drugs or alcohol!!! and dirty tires?? i can let a customer leave with half clean tires every tire i see that is not spotless i feel the urge to give it a wheel detail!!! my customers try to help me they say " cedric we appreciate the effort buy i only want a wash and here if 50 bucks more for a little extra spruce up and cleaning " i say no problem but if they leave with less than 130 dollar detail i will be surprised. i had to call one customer and beg him to come get his car so i could quit rubbing on it. no lie!! if i rubbed on my wife as much as i rub on cars my marriage would be a lot better sheesh!! only good thing is i picked up 4 customers this weekend of people who were walking or driving by at being of washes and came back by to see results. my plan is working, i didn't want to really get into driving a rig around i wanted to be a neighborhood car washer and detailer and it is working out great. Any one else having this too much over selling problem? anyone else having success like me and my plan of having customer bringing their car to my place? what is your plan? sometimes i wish i never got it in my head to start washing my own car. one more thing i am going to post some picks here again of outside details again tell me how you think the rookie is doing. and post some picks if you can. also tell me what you did to car example: exterior detail - topped with paint sealant, glaze, patriot wax, buttery wax or exterior detail - wash and wax etc etc. thanks
  3. ok we've had ceramic boost a while now. i got 2 bottles in mystery boxes, one is unopened. ok everyone what's the verdict? talking to people without ceramic coating. do you still work into your routine? have you stop using it? do you swear by it now? anyone experiment with it? any pictures? does it give shine? how long is protection on car paint? is it part of your layering? is it " Hey cedric you need to use this stuff!!" or " dont waste your time other things give better protection and shine more" tell me bout your ceramic boost experimentation. answer all or some of my questions, chime in everyone, adams people also
  4. ok got a merino mitt in a bucket is it any good? what are the pros and cons? do you like it? when should i use it? i watched the videos dont know if it is good for anything for me. chime in everyone please.
  5. any one test adams iron remover yet to see if it is as good as carpros? hope it is i ordered a gallon. 1 liter of iron x is bout 35 bucks the gallon of iron remover is better value if it works good.
  6. I was reading a post saying that even though patriot wax is more expensive Americana offer the best protection, is that true? i think i did see a video saying it just has a lot of carnauba in it so it adds the best shine. so does amercana offer ok shine but better protection and endurance of the wax and patriot just adds a lot of shine?
  7. good lord why do i keep missing the " r " on my yours when i type. .lolol
  8. someone was asking about some pictures on my other post on this exterior enhancement part of forum. just look at my other i put some pics
  9. Ok so i been going through a lot trying to strip was cars. I don't mean to sound wrong but i am sorry Adams strip wash doesn't do it for me. now don't get mad but i use it, a lot some times and cars bead like i didn't add anything different from regular shampoo. Is Adams stuff keeping up with sealing and wax tech? so i think the best way to go about helping me out is for everyone to chime in on how you strip you car for a detail. Lets say this is the situation: The last time you detailed you car you put down a layer of paint sealant, then brilliant glaze, then Americana paste wax and buttery wax for over kill to top it off. month later you wash and used wash n wax, month later you used H20 guard n gloss, going to show off you skills to friends and wanted car to really pop a month more or less later and did another layer of patriot and glaze. six months has past time to redo for summer. how would you strip it. by the way from reading forums this all can happen and has lol want tell who mums the word. ok everyone including Adams people what is your method for stripping you ride?
  10. Ok the rookie Cedric is back. Did a interior & exterior detail. Was a 1996 Mini Cooper, hadn't been washed in months i thought it was a dark gray color with black brake calipers. lol, ended up after i detailed it Navy blue with bright red calipers lol let me try and put some picks. i also did a 2017 crossover Mercedes, exterior detail boy did i make it pop!! let me try to get some picks.
  11. Cedric the rookie back again. boy good to be making some cash doing something i like to do, first time in my life work since i was 15 1/2 years out. Ok it is time to give me advice and put the brilliant glaze questions and arguments to rest i am trying to learn and make some buck here. ok everyone chime in specially people form Adams. 1) Is it true brilliant glaze adds shine even if you don't put it directly on the paint, so if i put it on top of paint sealant will it still add shine? 2) Does it shine better than patriot wax? i bought some couple weeks ago and was impressed buy it. I put it with under patriot wax on one car and on top of it on another both were blazing which is better for shine ? 3) I see a lot of post saying try it on windows, what does it to them? make them shine as if they were polished? 4) What does brilliant glaze do to interior windows? 5) What has been your experience with making a car absolutely pop using brilliant glaze? 6) Can brilliant glaze be applied with my swirl killers? if so how do i do it right? 7) off topic! how long does a coat of patriot wax last? now my favorite wax. and can i apply a second coat on top of it? Ok everyone chime it help the rookie out got a interior and exterior detail Saturday and advice on interior would be nice.
  12. Ok any reports or videos on new wheel cleaner? is it just a APC? what ever it is hopefully it is strong so i can dilute it if i must.
  13. ok no need to get mean. i never noticed it, i come home everyday and get up in the mourning and look for new stuff. i never notice a " flash sale " before. still kind of new. usually i get emails from adams bout this stuff or as soon as you log on to site you see mystery sales that didn't happen this time. now i know to look under every thing when waiting on mystery box stuff sheesh no need to get smart with me. i'll just keep my money
  14. I come home from work and there is a mystery sale and sold out already!!! That is jacked up man!!!
  15. Just wanted to thank all the people at Adams Polishes especially Dan, Tyler, and Bianca. Why you say??? Be Cause the rookie got paid!!! yes!! who's the man!!! High five!!!! You go boy!!! ( calm now). well actually i have been washing cars and doing little this and little that you know wash a car, wheel detail added or someone with bad leather seats whats a partial inside detail with concentration on seats etc, etc. But after washing my car and family members cars over and over and little jobs here and their i finally got a full detail job for my full price!!! yes!!! same day a friend of person said they wanted their car done. The job was a full interior detail and a regular wash ( of course my first full paying customer got a bit more lol) but after hours the horrible dirty 7 year old car that hadn't had a inside detail in years looked like new. customer was very pleased and promised and promised to come back for a outside detail soon. After months of utube self training and giving free washing and practicing on friends and family cars i made some decent cash, and enjoyed my work!! good lord that is a first!! Thanks again adams polishes and forum people for helping me.
  16. First heard this from one of the detailer from adams on the phone. he said he uses the wheel cleaner as his fallout remover on his paint. how bout you guys? if so do you use it like him diluted 50/50 or straight up? wet or dry car? before or after wash? have you compared it to iron x or other fallout removers on the paint? this came as quit a surprise to me. help the rookie out!!!
  17. most of you know what this stuff is. it remove stuff like brake dust and iron particles off paint. i was watching video of a guy using it and did it on a dry car. is that right? i usually use it on a wet car. how bout you?
  18. ok everyone thanks for advice. let me clarify some things. ok i call myself the rookie because i am so i want the advice to be to a rookie. most of the people i am doing business with no my experience. i have gotten more business because they see my results. things i have learned from here on forums and adams polishes videos and on utube and some people i know who used to be detailers. so i am not over selling myself and my experience or skill. i have gotten some good comments from all my customers, well friends , family, neighbors who are sad that i am starting to charge money now because they have had great looking cars that i experiment on and they have getting free washes and other thing 3 or 4 times a month lololol. but i feel i can do this and it is time to get paid. i am very cautious at this point which is why i asked the question bout black paint. just wanted advise before i do anything. but i got to start sometime and get my feet wet. i will take advice talk to her bout what to expect lean towards polishing but will use orange pad. got some family with dark cars i can practice on lol they will be ecstatic lololol. oh and i am not a cheating my customers my prices right now are well below what i scouted around for months to see what other charge mostly. i am right not just getting money back for supplies and keeping wife off my back by giving her all my earnings lolol. ok i am a addict!!!! you got a problem with it buddy!!!!! this is a important one though. if i can get her car looking good people in my church will come looking me up!
  19. OK girl form my church heard i was a weekend warrior detailer. wants me to detail inside and outside. she has a black car!!! i was ok at first but a friend scared me we he asked have i ever detailed a black car. i said i washed some but not detail or paint correction. he started laughing and said good luck. do i need to be nervous??? i looked at her car for a few minutes, outside is real dirty. a Honda sonata bout 2 years old. but she usually takes it to a car wash with the sanding machine stuff. paint full of swirls now. was thinking bout using the new one step been hearing a lot of good things bout it. with the quick look i didn't see any scratches if there is they or probably minor. was thinking of using a orange pad. guess my question is how do i know when a blue pad or blue compound is going to be needed? or maybe the microfiber pad? what condition make is necessary to move up to them? this is going to be my first big job. she told me to recommend what i needed and don't worry bout what she has to pay for. i said a inside/outside detail and paint correction and polish. also i told her to get ready for winter with what i call a window detail ( clean-decontaminate with clay or etc, etc,- seal- and boost don't steal my idea!!!! ) lol! will also recommend paint seal. but now i am scared because i see so many videos on black cars like they are tough to deal with. i will take any advice you have!! the man the myth the legend the rookie
  20. ok revive is one of the most confusing products adam's polishes sells to me. when do you use that stuff? what good is it? what does it do? does it do any correcting? i know i know i watched the videos and they are confusing. they all say this stuff is great but never what it does. does it just make paint shine? can you remover minor swirl marks and scratches with it? someone help me. i read the forums people saying how great it is but for what!!!!!
  21. Shane i get everything you say. all true, i have been doing my friends and family cars since i started going into this. most for free. washing , wax, wheel detail, etc, etc, i get paid now. got neighborhood business starting this is a pretty nice hood so i my do alright. the polishing is something i haven't done for pay yet. after practicing on family cars they don't seem to mind. i see " good lord i need to work on that" they see " Boy!!! that looks fantastic!!! lolol hope they don't start watching utube. but i want to me a honest detailer and do a premium job specially in this neighborhood. so don't worry i am still practicing. but when i hear or see someone tell me something i am not sure about if they are telling the truth i gotta ask. all the folk at adams specially Dan and Bianca must be tired of me by now. so don't worry not getting in over my head but i just wanted to make sure the information i get if right. my first real polishing job was on my own car. it sat in the back yard collecting dust and dirt for months it was looking real bad people were asking was i going to sell it. it is a 2008 Cadillac SRX. i did it on purpose. it was spotted with Los Angeles, California pollution if you live here you know that your car is dusted over with stuff 5 minutes after you detail it. tree sap, bird droppings, construction junk from neighbors. For advertisement sake i drove that sucker out of the back and i can only call it a resurrection. after the polish and a layer of buttery wax ( was going to seal it but man the car won that fight) i learned a lot specially bout, ok ill admit it, SLING GOOD LORD IN HEAVEN EVERY TIME I THINK I HAD IT DOWN PACT SLING, i must have rubbed that car in couple hours more than all the cars i have washed put together getting sling off of it lolol, i looked like i was a orange spotted alien. I had already decided unless it is family i want touch a blue pad or microfiber if it is that bad i will walk away. for now. so i am not getting in over my head learned that from guys on utube. any way thanks again shane.
  22. I was watching and learning on utube and someone said something and talked about some i have yet to see anywhere. They were polishing and orange paint correcting a suv and said that they will need at least 2 pads maybe 3 to do a large suv. Is this true? this how long they last? and how do you know when the pad is used up? will it look different? will it shrink? get flatter? and will a suv where out more than one pad? good lord everyone is selling stuff but no one talks about this. i am a rookie getting started and bout a lot of stuff think the amount of pads i have will last me a while if i take care of them. but if i get lets say 2 cars done on a Saturday with my orange or white pad on both cars will it be almost gone? what if someone pays me to do a large Yukon will one pad be enough? sheesh no one talks bout this. everyone ready to sell but not tell you this stuff. help the rookie out!!!!! do i need to stock up on pads???? The Man The myth The legend The rookie
  23. That is what i mean. I am just getting started into detailing. I have watched everything adams has over and over. i have watched tons of detailing videos on polishing with a machine. i have yet to see techniques and equipment for polishing top of a car and again a truck. goes without saying a ladder would be needed , i just bout a platform ladder for experimenting on my mother-in-laws car (poor family i am learning on there cars lol but they don't mind everyones car is clean wait till i start charging them full price lolol). It worked out great. but would still like to see what type of ladder others use, how they hold the polisher when they have to lean over some. sorry but this stuff is important to short detailers. help a rookie out!!! The Man The Myth The Legend The rookie and already addicted. ADAMS POLISHING I HATE YOU!!!
  24. Has anyone ever seen a video on polishing the top of a large car or especially a big truck? i have seen ever part of a car polished and washed on utube but i have never seen anyone polish the top of a car with a polishing machine.
