  1. Hello all, I have an old aluminum drift boat that needs a good cleaning. I gave it a good cleaning using Adam's car shampoo and used some of Adam's metal polish, it made a big improvement, but there is still lots of "boogers" that normal cleaning and the polish didn't remove. Does anyone have any idea what I can use to remove them and get this aluminum to shine? Its not any form of bug or sap, so I'm not sure what it is. Thanks
  2. I don't see them either. I've opened the thread a few times now.
  3. lol, I'd attempt it, but I think you need some better pics. The truck isn't totally visible is 2 of them and the other the truck is a little too far away.
  4. +10000. That truck looks SOOO much better without it:2thumbs:
  5. LOL, I voted. I guess I can vote from each IP I have access to.
  6. Now update your sig! I hope my truck looks that good in 12 years:)
  7. Thanks for all the kind words. And yes, I had to take advantage of this 70 degree MI weather! To think I just froze my hands off cleaning the G8 Tuesday (two bucket system was painful in 30 degree weather) Jesse, it will be a while before I let this one go I put 235K on my last ride before giving it to the neighbor (kicking myself now as it would have been great for winter). In the after picture you can see the green sunfire in the reflection...that was the DD from 97 to last Feb. Teresa, the truck never looked this good for sure! Looking back on it, they had just washed the truck before I drove it home....if only I knew what I know now.
  8. Trucks looks great with that visor thing off. Good job:)
  9. 2 weeks ago I finished a full detail of my truck...a project that took me over a month to find time to complete. The outside got the works. Used the PC to get the swirls out, then MSW and APW. Used the glass cleaner and wheel cleaner, then some VRT. As some might know, I finished my truck the night before I had to make a trip from MI to TX. It was night when finished and rained all the next day. So I have no pictures from when it was 100% fresh. The before picture here is after about 3000 miles of driving and a solid 7+ hours of heavy downpour. Sorry for the crappy pics, the battery to my good camera wasn't charged yet. Before: Here I used the 2 buckets and soap with foam gun, more glass cleaner, used DS and WW while trying, then went over it again with WW and the WW towel. After:
  10. Well I am back from my trip. Drove from MI to Houston TX, then Back again in 3 days. I have to admit it was allot harder to drive that long than I thought. I've been up longer than 24 hours many times, but to drive that long was much harder to do. I put in 18 hrs straight before I had to pull over for sleep. The first 10 hours down I was in constant rain, not just a mist either. All of this was at night. I had just cleaned the windows with Adam's glass cleaner and I was surprised that it acts like rainex. I never once turned on the wipers during that 10 hours of heavy rain at night. I finally had to wash the window on the trip home when it got dark out, the window was just too saturated with bugs. After the rain the truck looked pretty good still. However you had no idea I ever used the VRT, it was all washed away by that time. It was raining again when I got home, so I haven't had the change to clean it up and see how she shines.
  11. I have all the stuff you mentioned (I almost have 1 of everything Adams now). I wasn't sure if driving in the rain (dirty water) would cause micro scratches, especially the crap thrown up from the tires. Thanks
  12. I've been doing everything possible to avoid the rain, but today I had no choice. So 70 miles in the rain:willy: I was about 2 seconds from calling in sick...kinda wishing I would have. So my question is how much do I need to do to get my car looking like it did? How much work did I undo by driving in the rain? Do I have to break out the PC again? Wax again? What sucks even worse is I just got my truck done (4 straight 6 hour nights after work....and I already had it half done) and I have to drive it in the rain too. I won't even get a picture of it clean:( ...I gotta get a beater fast. Sorry if this was asked before, I scanned the forums a while before deciding to ask. Thanks
  13. One of mine did the same thing...I just order some more
