What is the advantage to this compared to paint sealant? The longevity is about the same but the price of the ceramic spray is a lot higher.

I've always been under the impression that ceramic coatings provide better protection from bird bombs and chemicals than paint sealants.

Would it be better to apply this after a clay bar and paint sealant? And the website states it has to be left element free for 3-4 hours.  What's element free as my lifted truck has to left outside since it doesn't fit in any garage.

I take element free to mean no rain, snow, mud, splashing it with a hose to see the hydrophobic effect right away, etc etc.  So besides watching out the previously mentioned, if your area gets dew that forms on your car, even that light dew that comes in the evening after warm temps drop cold, don’t do this application later in the day as well.  Pretty standard requirement for most coatings afaik.

  3. Got my order today and love the shirts!

I got 3 different shirts, images attached of the 3 designs, a cars and coffee detail spray and a mystery detail spray.  My son and I love the mystery spray, he says it’s like kool aid.  I think I was expecting more coffee scent in the C&C, it just smells like sweet chocolate to me and my son and wife smell more hot chocolate.  Nonetheless, I buy these to use and not collect so the scents will be enjoyed while using them.

Thanks Adams for more great fun products!  Before the sale ended yesterday, later than it was supposed to, I ended up grabbing a ceramic boost and wheel cleaner as I’m almost out.  I started using griots products nearly 19 years ago, eventually switched to Zaino and then to OPT (optimum polymer technology) products.  I used OPT stuff for many years now but I must say, I’m liking the quality and uniqueness of your products as well as the amazing gloss your detail spray adds.  I thought OPT quick Detailer would be tough to beat but you guys succeeded in my book.

The only competitor I am aware of is Ammo Hydrate. The original formula was water activated just like G&G. It was recently re-formulated to be used in the dry as well (Feburary 2018ish).

Thank you for the reply, I’ve been aware of Ammo products but never considered them so that one flew under my radar.

  5. I know many products in the detailing realm have cross competitors, with slight variations to their chemical makeup.  But, is there a competitor to H2O G&G?  I can’t immediately think of a spray on wipe on water activated product.  I know of spray on while wet products mike McKee’s Hydro Blue that are immediately rinsed off once sprayed on but G&G just seems so unique.

I have only used 1.0, I bought it for the first time in the pumpkin spice ‘variant’ months back but I really do like it.  I use it on a black 18’ Escalade a metallic black 18’ XC60 and have only really had a streaking issue if too much product is applied.

  6. Thank you all, sounds different so glad I grabbed one.  I'm not the collecting type so I have been and plan on continuing to use all the Limited Editions I have been grabbing.  To some I talk with it sounds dumb to care about how these things smell but they're not Enthusiasts so they just don't understand...

Good luck @ObsessedDetailer, here's to hoping for the 3 different ones but I agree, very good price on the randoms.  If I get all 3 different I'll be kicking myself for not grabbing 5 or 6, lol!

  7. I ordered 3 shirts but regardless of what the description says, I'm seriously hoping they can take the extra few seconds and send me 3 different shirts and not 3 of the same... 🤞

While I was at it, I also ordered a bottle of the cars and coffee detail spray and a bottle of the mystery scent detail spray.

Which makes me want to ask, for those who know, what scent is the mystery detail spray for those who have ordered it already?

  8. In my experience not anywhere near enough, if any, to make it noticeable.  Much of the sealant probably fills in the microscopic pits and pores of the glass so the scraper wouldn't really remove that.  I've gotten so used to using Rain-X many years before better sealants came along and now Glass Sealant, that driving a vehicle in the rain with nothing on the glass feels strange.

  9. After applying a tire clearcoat like tire armor, there is no need to apply a different type of product such as VRT or Tire Shine to the tires.  It basically negates using the Tire Armor and prevents you from properly touching it up with subsequent applications of Tire Armor for 're-freshening'.

I've never found the need for a harsh or strong tire cleaner after using a tire clearcoat like Tire Armor.  I just have a spray bottle with water and car wash solution in it, and use that to spray on the tires and agitate with a brush while also cleaning my rims.  Once a month or maybe every 6 weeks, depending on how the clearcoat still shines, I'll apply a new coat of product to get things back to the level of shine I like.  Just make sure the tires are plenty dry after washing the tires/vehicle before applying the product.
