  1. That's what I ended up going with. Used 4 oz of car shampoo. Foaming action wasn't quite as good as I've seen online but here's a pic of the truck. Didnt dwell very long either before soap was mostly off paint. Top knob was turned fully to the right.
  2. Ok guys. Maybe a dumb question I'm split 50/50 on how to mount this foam cannon. Below are pics of the washer I have and my 2 options of mounting. Not sure if the metal tube is required for pressure adding purposes or not as the pump is before the hose/gun. Anyway. Option A is the short assembly. Option B is full length. I have tried both attachments on my unit and both are correct size and thread to work either way.
  3. ahhh ok. i thought i was making some stupid sophomoric mistake this morning when i was trying to screw the sprayers on the top of the bottles. Hah! guess im not as dummy head as i thought lol!
  4. hey everyone, just curious if the "straws" for the spray nozzles come longer than the bottles are tall. i assembled and used my detail spray and waterless wash today and both spray nozzles were a solid inch too tall for the bottles with the straws pushed all the way into the bottom of the spray nozzle head. Had to take my knife and cut a goof inch off both so theyd screw on the bottles. anyone else have this happen or am i just a weird random case of this. is there something im doing wrong when i do this? i cant imagine every straw for these bottles would come too long.
  5. i agree, was gonna order some tonight but its GONE they should leave item on website and ship when its available.
  6. i see an iowa plate on that car.......wheres he run it at? eddyville? humboldt? CFR? somewhere im not aware of?
  7. So now my next question is....What's the advantage to foaming a vehicle prior to washing. My hope is it'll pre soften bug residue etc.
  8. Yeah I understand that. That's why I use multiple wash pads lol. I just have a better time going around the truck one time vs. 2 times.
  9. Nice. I'd prolly do truck one side at a time. Mine pretty big too. Lol.
  10. .....with one of these guys. Anyone have an tips/trucks on using one and what product works best in it?
  11. Here's a couple pics of my detailing menu. Like said above. My pricing in small town north iowa and market is nothing close to yours however this is what I have my pricing set at.
  12. has anyone tried gluing the top back on? lil dab of super glue?
  13. Yeah. I wanted to keep order under 100 bucks though as I don't have a ton of extra cash to spend. I don't need any new pads right now as I have plenty of megs pads to use.
  14. Ok well I took advantage of mondays quick 24 hour sale and bought some more stuff to try and round out a good detailing combo to compare adams to megs. Here's what I got in this order. Of course I'll be adding more product as sales continue or I find something I'd really like to try.
  15. Thanks nick....heres what came in the mystery boxes i got. Also took part in Mondays 24 hr sale. Heres what i have coming for tomorrow.
  16. I've got plenty of megs clay. 2 buckets. 2 grit guards etc. I've got all the brushes and towels. Just looking more for actual sprays, cleaners, waxes/sealants, dressings etc. I've got all the "material" things.
  17. also just wondering....what are the blue and black pads that came with the order....only thing i can see that resebles those are red interior pads....confused? i think yes!
  18. i looked at that kit Chris - just not sure i wanna spend 200 quite yet, im sure its well worth it, but i need to get through some of my M105/M205 before i just throw it on the back shelf. i will probably pick that kit up in a year or so once my meguiars compounds are lower.
  19. Hey guys, just recieved my first order of 3 of the mystery boxes today for adams products. Ive been a die hard Meguiars fan for YEARS and used almost NOTHING other than Meguiars, however, theres been a TON of hype lately about Adams Polishes so i thought id give Adams a try. Anyway, this is what i recieved today from the mystery box special. Anyway, besides whats shown above, what else can/should i order to give myself a well rounded/versed "kit" of products that i can use to try in place of my Meguiars stuff. i DO have a 7" Meguiars G110 (PC 7424) and an array of Meguiars 2.0 polishing and finishing pads. Not looking to spend multi hundreds to start, but id like to add some more to what i have and really give adams a try on every aspect of a vehicle. So let me have it guys, what needs to be added to my shopping cart!?!?
  20. cool, nice to see another iowa guy around here already. Hoping Adams impresses me as much as all my Meguiars products did and still do today.
  21. I guess i should spend a few minutes to intro myself. My name is Zach and im currently living in a small town in North Central Iowa. Ive been a Die Hard Meguiars fan for years but as of late there has been a LOT of hype about Adams Polishes. Im not going to lie - i have hundreds - if not thousands invested in Meguiars enthusiast, pro "mirror glaze", and detail line. Ive been MORE than happy with all their products, and will likely continue to use them. However, lately ive been thinking about trying some of the Adams line of products and this latest mystery box special finally made me pull the trigger. I ordered 3 of the boxes and will see how the Adams line compares to the Meguiars lines. Anyway - on to myself. Im 29 years old and drive semi for a living. Im also a HUGE car enthusiast and have 2 vehicles that i strictly show and cruise with while my 3rd vehicle is my daily driver, but sometimes also enters the show side of things. Ive been big into vehicle detailing for the last 4 or 5 years, but the area i service is relatively low on the detail side of things for customer base, so ive turned more to just being an enthusiast and servicing my own familys/friends vehicles and the occasional customer for work. Heres a picture of all my vehicles with a short description about each Daily Driver: 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Modified drivetrain with an estimated 600-700 horsepower at flywheel, with 500 to 600 at the rear wheels. It hosts a larger 64mm turbo with a different cam and full valvetrain, 175 horsepower over stock injectors, a dual disc clutch etc etc. I have used it for daily driving, drag racing as well as sled pulling. Show/Cruiser #1: 1983 Chevy C10 pickup Fully restored chevy pickup with a McGaughys 4.5"/6" suspension drop kit with a moderately modified 355 small block chevy engine and well built TH700r4 transmission. Soon to be replaced by a VERY modified 496 Big Block stroker with hopes of over 800 horsepower at the WHEELS. Show/Cruiser #2: 1939 Dodge D11 Luxury Liner Deluxe This car was originally bought by my father in the late 80s/early 90s in a non running condition and has been with our family since. It currently DOES run and is in original running condition with the original 218 cubic inch flat head 6 engine producing 75 years ago a whopping 87 horsepower. The paint on this car is NOT original, nor are the wheels, in fact the paint was originally seabase green and had since been painted red and then its current white. the paint is in VERY rough condition and ive done almost all i can do to bring back any shine/correction it will allow.
  22. "chipping" a 12v Cummins is impossible, as their ALL mechanical, right down to the injection pump. The only way to make it smoke is to crank the AFC, fuel adjustment screw, full fuel screw and change or remove the fuel plate completely.
