  1. Oh boy here we go! Politics has now migrated to every site I've been on. Good thing Congress votes for their own things. Good luck with this!

You like that congress votes about things they know nothing about, about corporate interests, about lobbyist agendas, and even constantly giving themselves raises?

  2. We could remove the pensions.

I'm ok with letting go of some good to make sure we get rid of the bad.

We don't have to have it be 2 years. How about 1x 8year term? or 2x 6 year terms. I'm not saying short terms. I'm just saying no one should be making policies today that was making policies in the 60s. This is a different world. It's a PITA to see congressmen that are 70 years old making bills about MY internet. Something they barely know anything about.

  3. Pretty cool. I'd like to know what that long line of colored flags or colored clothes is that runs behind the yellow tents. Interesting. Never mind, I was just scrolled in too far. It's flags............all over camp.:2thumbs:

I think the flags are there so one can find their way around when the snow is blowing and the wind howling...

They are prayer flags and are very typical and prolific in Buddhist communities where they are often referred to as Wind Horses. Each colour represents an element - red for fire, blue for the sky, green for water, yellow for the earth and white for the air. Each flag has a winged horse and prayers. Each time you string a set up in the wind - usually as a blessing or giving thanks, the wind catches the flags and the winged horse will gallop around the world delivering your blessings.

  4. Depending on what camp this is, there should be a few bodies around.

Did you know when you die on the mountain, you are left there? They are set as milestones on the mountain and certain bodies have become very famous. Such as old green boots.

It is a bucket list item and very big dream of mine to climb Mt. Everest. I'd love to see the view in person at the peak and it (literally) would be breathtaking. The sad part is, it costs upwards of $75,000 to do it properly and I doubt I'll ever be able to afford something like that, so unfortunately I don't think I'll get to do it in this life.

  5. This is a special to the Adam's members only.

I am offering Life Assurance Plans this week ONLY for $1,000!

My plans guarantee you will live past Friday. If you do not, I will follow what Adam's does and give 110% back to you!

    PM me for contract. :2thumbs:

  6. Mine's easy. I found a listing online for Craigslist. I nail interviews like it's nobody's business and I got offered the job the next day after only 1 interview. The funny part is my company is huge and they were posting craigslist ads. Don't think only ****ty jobs are on Craigslist. After ~1 year, our team lead left working for us and he taught me everything. I became psuedo-team lead and have been since. Everyone naturally comes to me for information. There are people who have been with the company for 7+ years coming to me for information. This was the same way when I was in the Marines, I would have officers coming to me as a LCpl for information on insurgents/areas/intel. haha, seems to be a trait that I have I guess.

They keep giving me every raise I ask for, so I must be doing something right, haha.

About to be promoted to Network Security Administrator or Network Security Architect once I finish my degree. Unsure of which title I'm going to suggest, haha.

I love my job and if offered enough/in the range I am looking for, I will stay with this company once I finish my degree.

  7. IEPs. It's funny how much more a special education teacher has to do yet they are not compensated for it. In fact, I believe my mom makes less than normal teachers with a Bachelor's and she has a Master's in Special Education.

Like she says though: "I do it for the kids."

  8. I have SO much Adams now that I've told people NOT to buy me any. This last year was BAD for detailing at the Smith household. Too bloody hot.

I have a NEST 2.0 thermostat on my list from the parentals though.

Oh this isn't my actual list, just my Adam's wishlist to myself, haha. I've asked for a DeWalt drill and other things.

NEST is pretty nice. I have a buddy who got it for free and installed for free as he signed up to be on the test pilot for it. It's pretty awesome. His bill has definitely cut down and it's extremely smart. I love that you can control it from an iPhone too.
