  1. Food for Thought:

    Insurance

What's your time worth to you? Do not undervalue yourself. IF someone is cheap, don't let them bust you down. Simply point them towards the nearest fancy car wash, and be on your way.

Agreed, if they are cheap they are not worth your time & effort...

Insurance is relatively cheap too, way cheaper that your out of pocket expense of wrecking someone vehicle.

  2. Everyone I know is a cheap bastard. I tried to detail my buddies massively swirled Mazdaspeed 3 for $50 just so I could get more experience on bad paint and he declined lol.

    Consider yourself lucky.

Just a thought, if hes your buddy, then do what I do.

Do the job for free, just get him to help you with the little stuff, and bring the food and beverages. Take tons of B&A pics, have him give you props on any social networking sites hes on, take some of your cards etc.

I have done 4 or so vehicles like this, in fact both of my cousins have recently acquired new vehicles, well one new, one beat to death but I will do both for an EXTREME discount if not free just to get my name and skills into their circles.

Just how I spread my name..

  3. I have my cards on the counter at work and had a customer ask me what I use, and got basically the same response. "I can use OTC stuff and old tshirts and get the same if not better results" he told me. Then offered to have me come look at his weekend cruiser. Well to quote Dylan..

It looks like he washed it with a bucket of playground sand

So agreed, there is no educating nor need to waste time trying to with people like this.

In the end I think it works better to Adam's advantage.. Park my Adamized ride next to Mr OTC and see who gets more ooohs and ahhhs..
