I think at the end of the day, I think it's safe to say we'd love it if the golden rule -- treat others as you'd want them to treat you -- we're the rule of the forum. Just as Adam and the staff would never come into your home or place of business to criticize your products and methods, we hope that our members will come here to share positive and constructive ideas, and if the company decides to leave a product or niche unexplored, just take their honest answer at face value. When it gets to the point that people are accusing us of being draconioan, stiifiling their first amendment rights (oh please), being Big Brother, etc, we're put in the losing position. Come on guys, it's a family run car care business. Adam's just trying to carve out his little nitch to feed his family, create some American jobs and take care of his customers. Let's not make it all into something else.

but see thats the point rich, the adams team shouldn't get overly sensitive when there is criticism over a product or when someone finds something better. If I was the adams team i would take that as "hey guys so and so found a product that seems to be working well" lets take this time to look at what we can make or improve on that is better then that product, but in the meantime lets let an open discussion so others can chime in and we get their opinions.

I run a business and I LOVE when someone critisizes me or questions me on my products and methods, its the only way to build a better business

I WISH i had a support group/free focus group like adams has that could critique me ...Nothing bad comes from it, only good. And i do understand about the annoying customers/people that are out to get some type of revenge, ive dealt with my share of those too. but 99.5% of my customers behave themselves, and im sure it would be the same percentage for adams. they just have more to deal with because they have more customers then I do.

But to have a thread taken down almost instantly when someone ASKS about another product is just plain crazy, personally i would take that time to let others speak and sing praises about an adams product and why such and such a product from adams is better. so what if someone chimes in and says something works better for them, just because it works better for them doesnt mean it will work better for others or that individual.

I wonder how many customers the forum team have turned away by someone just asking a simple question, especially someone that just joined asking if adams products are compatible with others, i have seen one too many threads taken down within minutes because someone simply asked the difference between megs/adams or can adams be used with other polishes etc... I know if I was replied "this is a forum that supports adams products only this thread will be closed" i would go somewhere else and never look back :(

  2. That's an awesome color for a Jeep, seeing Jeep's like this makes me regret not buying one last year when I had the chance! Beautiful truck though! I saw one of these driving down a main road by me but with AEV's JK250 package just yesterday. Pics don't do the color justice

Thanks! yeah its a gnarly color. The stares it gets is awesome. He just ordered a CB radio/antenna so we can go wheeling and join the jeep club. I think hes going to get his bumper in a few weeks, following new tires :D

Its so true about the saying Jeep = Just Empty Every Pocket :lolsmack:

  3. Dan,

You get banned for a week with no warning? What do you call that, pantywaisted? Listen, I Admin a forum with 15,000 users, and we show tremendous latitude with our members. Now we don't use the forums as a way to market products, but to build relationships. This is the power of social networking. So far the goodwill of the members continues to drop money in Adams pocket. Time will tell if Americans with ever decreasing freedoms and paying an inordinate share of the tax burden in this country will continue to have their freedoms stripped from them! If we don't speak out we deserve whatever treatment those that seek to control us mete out to us, either here, our jobs, or from our government. I would think you would be familiar with the "don't tread on me" coming from the NE!

    well said :)

  4. When I was about 20 I gave a cop a little grief over a routine stop (i had flashed oncoming cars to warn them of an approaching speed trap) and drove away with a ticket. Since then I've been pulled over about 6 times and never got more than a warning, apology for taking my time, or a thank you for understanding. The key? Four words:

    Yes sir.

    No sir.

You were driving a car that didn't have a front plate, so you were presumably in the wrong. It wasn't your car, so the officer had every right to be suspicious. You questioned his authority and put him on the defensive. Honestly, actions like that, and what I did when I was 20, are the reason police aren't about to take **** from young male drivers. You want respect? Earn it.

See thats the thing, it was about 10 minutes in when i questioned his badge, i was still polite the whole time. When he walked up for the first time it was "hello officer, yes sir, no sir" Kept my hands on the wheel told him i was going to reach into the glove box to let him know that the paperwork was in there, told him everything i was going to do, told him i was reaching in my back right pocket to let him know my wallet with my license was there. I gave him absolutely NO excuse to act that way.

I erned the respect i am deserved, especially with a cop that im doing everything by the text book. He just want having it. Complete and utter ***. im sick of it, it evidently doesn't make a difference at least with this guy, if they are going to treat me like a pos why should i respect them?

i havent been pulled over many times in my life, maybe 5 times all for stupid reasons like tint or license plate, each time im polite and respectful it got me off with a warning ONCE the other times ended in tickets. My biggest run in with a cop i wasnt even driving, im not even going to go into that it was so stupid involved the last day of highschool and our seniors traditional waterbaloon/water gun fight. cop drew his gun on us. Ended in lawyers and his dis honorary discharge from the force. after that incident ive always looked at cops a different way, and this guy takes the cake.

  5. Another great day in Gatlinburg, TN. And I in herited a silver 2004 Audi A4 Cabriolet that has been beat up. Taking it home to CT and cleaning it up so we can sell it.

Dude, Gatlinburg ROCKS! my gpop had a condo there and every year my moms side of the family would come from all over to spend a week there, many great memories there. Its been 5 years since ive been, go into pigeon forge/sevierville. there are TONS of great things to do, just dont get caught in a tourist trap.

I miss gatlinburg :( TONS of great hiking trails, its also a blast to rent some ATV's and go up the mountains. Tubing/white water rafting around there is a blast!

what was he harrassing you about Brendon? some of the Cops around here are that way. A few of them have been on the force for 20+ years and they are around to help the community.

What was a routine traffic stop turned into a one way pissing match of authority by this "cop" multiple tickets, verbal abuse total lack of respect. He went off the deep end when i asked for his badge number so I could call into the local police station to verify that he was a cop because myself or the people in the car couldnt believe he was a "real cop" Consistently walked away from me as i was talking to him etc etc. I mean it was bad, Literally screaming at me. to make matters worse it wasnt even my car, it was my dads

And in return I sat there and still acted polite and treated him with respect and "took it" I dont want to go into to much detail as im not sure what will happen next, thinking about calling my lawyer and asking for advice, i want to post this video on youtube but want to get my lawyers opinion first.

The reason i was stoped is because i was driving my dads car and he didnt have a front license plate, it just escalated from there.

I have lost all respect for cops, ive had my share of cops in my life but NOTHING like this :( I posted about it on FB but left out alot of the major details of what went on. ill keep everyone posted.

  6. Got pulled over and harassed by an Arrogant POS cop. I have never dealt with such unprofessional behavior from a person that is "supposed to serve and protect" im sick of it and something has got to be done. Im sure there are a few good cops out there but lately im beginning to think there isnt anyone out there that goes into law enforcement to actually HELP the community anymore  It was unbelievable, Fortunately it was in a public place and a few passerbuyers stoped to witness the harassment, got the names and numbers of those that stuck around, one person recorded the incident.

I will be filing a formal complaint with the police department on Monday. Im sick of being nice and polite to these types of people..IM DONE!

  7. this is in direct correlation of the autoscrub thread, and after a few comments from the adams team has me really questioning...The final comment in that thread left a REALLY bad taste in my mouth, i really dont like how that thread or ANY thread regarding competitors products has/have been handled. Especially that one :(

you guys have an incredible FREE focus group right here, I would think you guys would LOVE to watch and listen to these threads and let them run their course, only to be closed when name calling and the maturity level drops. IMO that thread had some great constructive criticism from more the a few forum members.

Again this is my opinion, I do have a really bad taste in my mouth and I really dont like it. Ill continue to support a few of adams products and respect the rules but I do use other products that are far superior in there aspects

    Carry On :)

  8. I was reading this thread with great interest. I too agree with everyone about the packing and customer service; FIRST RATE!!.

I also agree that shipping is a necessary evil and someone has to pay, somehow. While I'm not complaining directly about the shipping charges, they have stopped me from placing small orders (especially disappointing are the daily specials).

It's very hard for me to accept that the shipping charges sometimes are almost 30% of the price of the products! Usually around 20%. To me, that's just unreasonable.

As of right now, I have the two specials (36 oz Detail Spray and the Daily Special, 36 oz VRT) in my cart and with the forum member discount the price is $53.91. Ground Shipping is $9.58 or about 18% of the price of the products.

Now, spending $9.58 is not going to change my lifestyle any and I will place the order but it's the principle of it all. It's a huge percentage. We know that it's weight/distance based but I get a FexEx discount from my employer for 2nd day shipping and I priced the same weight to ship back to Adams using my discount and the price was $11.55, and that's second day air!! The price Adams is charging is $20.44 for the same service! If I can get that discount from FedEx, I surprised that Adams cannot.

I wanted to share my feelings (and they are mine alone) but the shipping charges do prevent me from placing orders for items that I would prefer to have but can find an alternate for so that I do not have to pay such (IMHO) high shipping charges.

This is a business decision of Adams and I would be remiss not sharing my thoughts as I think many others might feel the same way!!

I no longer buy from adams direct because of the shipping, it's utterly rediculous. Local dealers FTW! I have two dealers somewhat local to me that are a day away for shipping and charge about 6-8% and the packaging is just as good! Just for giggles I typed in their location to adams warehouse in colorado and shipping is about 9-12% of the package same adams products etc, even gallon stuff and it's just about the same % every time, they are small time dealers and can't be doing he volume adams is now..........

I know adams has a larger overhead and know how thngs work because im in a business but I've given up on daily deals because shipping eats the savings instantly. Actually couldn't tell you the last time I bought anything from adams direct :(

But I'm supporting "local" business and ultimately Adams so it's a WIN WIN!

  9. sweet rig man! I need to build me another computer my fps in bf3 is awful. I need silence, I bought a massive heat sink for my processor to quiet it down and it has substantially, I just want complete silence.

What system did you go with? Is it active or passive? And is it silent?

Edit:Looked at pics on pc, see that you also have fans...nice rubber mounts!

  10. Im going back to school next semester, decided that I cannot do what im doing for the rest of my life, i plan to see it through to the end of my van lease and as soon as thats done shop is getting "sold" :o:D it will be the saddest/happiest day of my life

But the main reason for going back to school is to hopefully meet a cute chick, i dont get out much any more soo..... :jester: (not really but its the only thing that makes it less miserable)

to be honest im not really a book/education guy. It has always come difficult to me. But in this society where you now have to have a degree to work at verizon/att and looked down upon for being "good with your hands" im going to force my self through it and do the best I absolutely can.

best of luck i have one more year to get through before my associates degree, then ill move on to my bachelors and call it quits after that

  11. I need to buy an oil extractor for my Jet Ski and my Dads Audi. Ive spent a few hours searching for some oil extractors and cant decide on a single one. I know Mityvac is good but im not sure which model to go with. Ive read the pneumatic ones sometimes work good and other times dont and your better off with a hand pump.

Can anyone help me here? :o

Ive also read that an extractor with a rigid insertion tube is best because you can push it past the bends in the dipstick. here is the one that im currently looking at Mityvac

    TIA

  12. Looks well corrected but personally I can't stand that color or the Citron color used back in the early 2000's. Yes I work with Jeeps every day so I'm allowed to say that :P

A 2 door is a great platform to build off of. What are the overall plans for the build? Just to make it look aggressive or does he plan on using it? :jester: I frequented Rausch Creek a lot over the past 5 years and it's a fun place to test out the capabilities of your ride offroad. Plus its all legal there so nothing to worry about on that end.

First few mods I would tell him to get no matter what is a good first aid kit and two fire extinguishers and mounts. One that the driver can reach while in the seatbelt and another that someone else can reach from outside the vehicle. You can never be too safe in any situation!

If you or your brother have any questions about his new ride feel free to PM me. I've been around them for many years now. :)

Lol, the color isnt for everyone :)

Immediate plans are 2" lift, 33" tires and new rims. He doesnt want to get into getting new driveshafts etc so thats why hes sticking with a 2" lift. Hes going to get the smitty built MOD bumper and a quadratec winch. He'll probably get a rear bumper/tire carier because he wants the side by side jerry can holders. Also some Rock rails to replace those god awefull stock running boards. Also a new audio system (basic) because they OEM one is miserable :loser: Ohh and a rugged ridge snorkel when they release for the 2012s.

also will do a bit of lighting, looking at the dually LED's for the MOD bumper and will also do a light bar above the windshield.

This isnt going to be a road queen jeep, he has every intention on getting her dirty. We have been told not to go out anywhere even basic trails without having another jeep there you can follow and learn the ropes. I would LOVE to get up to rauch creek but we dont know anyone and jeep clubs seem to be scarce in NJ :( unless im not looking in the right areas (were on wrangler forum)

Ive caught the jeep bug now and really want a jeep :lolsmack: will probably get one next year. :D

thanks for the headsup on the fire extinguishers, we'll get some ordered. How far away are you from South Jersey, maybe if your willing can be our jeep budy and help us out with mods for some beer and extra cash? :D bumpers we can do our selves but i dont have the slightest clue on where to begin with the lift :o

    Thanks Man!!
