There was a thread about this problem way back and it said to do the same thing. I've done this to my nozzle twice, including a couple days ago, and I'm still having this problem. I wiped almost all the grease off and it's still moving. I even used some APC on a shop towel to get the grease off.

Every time I set the nozzle down while washing, the rubber grommet will move and the spray pattern will change. I've just grown to accept it.

I do wish they'd redesign the nozzle with perhaps a design where you pull a sleeve down to move the nozzle from fan to stream vs the current design. I think it'd be much improved. I know I would love the fact if I set the nozzle down on a certain spray pattern and it stayed on that pattern.

This is my only gripe with the fire nozzle. I will admit it's much worse for those of us who use the brass quick disconnects, because the entire nozzle will spin vs staying static without the quick disconnects ( you have to use 2 hands, 1 to hold the maroon part of the nozzle, and the other to turn the black rubber part). Only reason I use the quick disconnects is to switch to and from my HydroFoamer.

I have the exact same problem!  and have tried the "fix".  it has not worked for me.  I ended up buying a Home depot sprayer to rectify the issue.  I know the quality of the home depot sprayer is not good, but while it works it is much easier for me to wash with than the firehose nozzle.  this is the only product that I have had an issue with.  everything else that I have purchased from Adams has been spot on!

  2. sorry to say,  but, I am not a fan (at all) of the firehose nozzle.  I've had one for a few months now and I do not like it.  the adjustable stream adjusts itself (keeps going from a spray to a stream on it's own).  it is difficult to make adjustments (it requires two hands to adjust, probably because the adams hose connection has a swivel on it too) and the least bothersome thing is the shape,  it is much easier to hold onto a handled sprayer rather than the nozzle.

I love most of adams products but this one is a huge "missed the mark" for me.

  3. thanks for the tips but since I have the de-ionizer and the master blaster, i no longer need to put a drying towel to my paint.  spot free car wash every time!

but the tips you mentioned are the steps I used to have to go through before i got the master-blaster. so it is still good info!

  4. Guys! (N gals) I just purchased the AF Master Blaster! That thing rocks!! It cut my drying time way way WAY down and I never touched the finish with a drying towel. I also got the 75ft hose kit with all the bells and whistles. Don't think I will ever have to buy another hose.

Along with the CR spotless water de-ionizer (which I had bought a while ago), these things really make washing the car here in Vegas a snap!

Thanks to adams, my almost three year old Camaro looks great!! I just had to post how happy I am with my new toys!!!

  5. Glad y'all found the CR spotless system. It has been a few years since I bought mine and I am still using it to rinse my car! I love this thing!!

I am getting ready to buy the AF master blaster this week. Used in conjunction with the cr spotless water system should make summer washing a snap!

  6. Today hung Christmas lights for my mom, taught a handstand class, and strip washed, Clayed and taped up my car in preparation for tomorrow's polishing. This weekend is going to be the last warm weekend!

  7. Welcome! Good to have fellow las vegans here on this site. I have been using adams on my camaro for two years. Love the stuff. I usually order straight from the site but there is one place that I found here in Vegas that carries adams. It called "Mutt n Jeff's". If I just have to have something today, I go there. Happy detailing!

  8. Possibly from claying.

If I am going to clay the car I also plan to polish it to remove any marring from the claying process that is so common. (revive polish won't cut it)

Also like others have said, no matter what, the swirls will return. The two bucket system only reduces the swirling to a minimum, it does not eliminate it completely.

My advice is get a kit for polishing with the more aggressive polishes for your new cars. It will not go unused!

  9. What an interesting thread! I also was able to read most of the other thread that everyone keeps referring to. And I think a large part of the misunderstanding here is..."what is 'Adams forums'?". Once that is defined (I believe it has already been defined) and everyone understands what it is, THEN everyone can discuss the rules in an informed manner always keeping in mind what this forum is.

The owner is the one that define what the forum is. Just because a member feels that it has grown into "more than that", does not mean that the forums purpose has actually been redefined.

One can contact the owner and/or the moderators to discuss changing its meaning and purpose. But ultimately, it is the owner of the forum that will make the decision.

And just because "other personal topics" are allowed does not mean the actual purpose of the forum has changed. It means the owner is allowing some latitude on what is discussed that does not conflict with the original purpose. A "perk" if you will.

Recently, I wanted to post something in the lounge section that was near and dear to my heart and I felt it needed to be heard by all. It was deleted and I was contracted right away and was schooled on the purpose of the forum. I was also apologized to. But the rules were the rules and my post would have detracted from the overall purpose of the forum. I understand that and feel that the moderators and the owner are doing a great job of keeping this forum on track. Thank you!

  10. I love fenix flashlights. I bought the whole crew where I work the tk15's. Best flashlight I have ever used.

Back to the question. It's interesting because some things that show up in the sun won't show in artificial lights. And vice versa. Just after my last full detail, which looked awesome in the sun, I found some light micro-scratches when I parked my car under a parking lot lamp. I was shocked!
