Lots of auto makers are adding those these days. My GTI has the same thing. My product of choice is Plexus plastic polish. It will not level the scratches and swirls, but it will lightly fill them and add a small layer of protection. It's perfect for a post-wash routine. Just spray it on a clean microfiber towel very liberally, then wipe on, let haze, and wipe clean with the dry side of the towel. The results are much better than you'd expect. You can pick it up an any marine store or motorcycle shop. It's also a great product for use on headlights and tails.

Great! thanks for the tip. I may get some of that for the interim. I'm trying to decide on vinyl now. A guy of the F150 forum used a carbon fiber pattern and it looks pretty sweet.

ok, so Ford thinks its a great idea to put the easiest scratched material on this planet on the outside of a vehicle. I recently picked up a 2015 F150 and the pillars were pretty scratched already. I have tried to correct them with not so desirable results. The even scratch using revive polish and the blue hand applicator. Does anybody have experience with these demons? I'm more than likely gonna wrap them with some vinyl down the road, but in the mean time i would like to make them look as good as they can get.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated! They are driving me crazy!!!

Thanks for the replies! As to how it happened....someone left a cup of milk sitting on their car(first gasp) then forgot about it and drove for a couple hours (second gasp) then continued to forget about it for another day...

It'll be a couple weeks before I attempt to correct it for them. They are in college a couple hours away. At least it has been washed...

to a black car? this is a friend's 2008 infinity g37. any ideas on what could possibly fix it? it looks pretty bad. I havent tried anything yet as far as polishing goes. Does anybody know the kind of clearcoat infinity uses? Hard or soft? I'm not a expert but it looks like etching.

Thanks for the feedback! And thanks for the links Adam! If Mook's suggestion doesn't kill it I may just have to get one. I was relieved to find that after work today it didn't smell as strong so I am hoping that it didn't make it's way down into the seat. We shall see tommorrow.

Once I cleaned it it looked more dried out than the rest of the seat. I then dressed it and it looked normal. My thinking is that since the seat middles are perforated that some of it got down to the foam of the seat cushion itself. I vacuumed it with my shop vac the best I could before I started cleaning it.

Long story short I spilled a couple ounces of mineral spirits on the back seat of my truck. They are leather and perforated in the middle. Good news is the leather is fine. I vacuumed them to get as much of the liquid as I could. Then I cleaned them and dressed them with leather conditioner. The only thing is the smell is still there. My question is...is there anything else I can do? Or do I just have to wait till it goes away on its own?

I tried to take pics but all I've got is my iPhone. And it doesn't capture it well. I know it's just regular road grime. I'm not sure if they are painted or powder coated. I can't find anything on their website that says what finish they are. I didn't want to have to use apc since it would degrade my QS but I guess I gotta do what I gotta do! Thanks for the input fellas!

Side note. I'm guessing too that I have to get used to these flat black wheels just being harder to clean. Starting to regret even getting them! Ahhhh!

It was a dry wheel. I left it long enough that the rotor had changed color but I know these ford brakes put off a fair amount of dust. I've been having a hard time getting these new wheels clean and thought the dwc might help. Maybe I should switch to a 50/50 of water and apc?

Quick question. About 3 weeks ago I cleaned up my truck and when I got done I put a good coat of QS on my new Ballistic Morax flat black wheels. Fast forward to today. Its been 3 weeks, my truck was filthy, rain, rain, rain, rain, pollen, rain, so I decided to clean her up. Was excited to try out the new DWC and my turbo stick that I recently purchased as well. Here comes my question. The DWC did nothing, and I mean nothing after it was sprayed on the wheel. Looked like I had used GWC. My question is does the QS keep the DWC from activating? The lack of performance today kinda bummed me out. Thought I would ask the collective knowledge base and see whats going on. I tried it on a dry wheel and on a rinsed wheel, both had the same effect of nothing.

2nd - Primo Grills and Smokers

This is a biggie. Probably the best grill in the country. Kind of expensive, well really expensive but we know how the ol' saying goes. I do not have one but my dad and brother both use them exclusively at home (they use cabinet smokers at competitions). Why does it matter what they use you might ask? Well I'll tell you. haha. They are currently ranked 67th in the country(Big-Blue-Que) on the KCBS pro circuit. If you follow bbq then you know thats pretty major.......oh and its only their 2nd year pro. They won reserve grand champion(2nd place) this past weekend in tupelo, missisippi. Johnny Trigg was there. Wish I was!

I shared all of this because until they got into competing I didnt know crap about cooking and I've learned tons from them already. I will say that a device like the thermopen has really increased the quality of meat that I take off the grill. I have adapted some new cooking techniques and now I'm using competition spices which makes a huge difference as well. If anybody has any questions I would be more than happy to answer any that I can!
