I finally got to do a proper detail on my FX4. Its new so not alot of hard work was required but I feel better about it now I went with the usual 2 bucket process, then clayed and layed down a layer of Americana. I also applied a layer of BG and Americana to my Bakflip G2. But it wasn't all rainbows and lollipops today. I found a few spots here and there that had trash in the paint and a spot on the top of the cab with some tiny bubbles. I'm debating on whether I want to address them with the dealer or not. Its not noticeable really and I only found them because I was claying. I could feel them when I clayed but not while I was waxing or buffing with my double soft. I believe it's too big of a risk of a blotched paint job to really make me address the trash. It's in one spot on one of the rear doors. However the bubbles on top of the cab I may make them fix. still undecided.
Anyway, here are a couple of pics. A couple of them show an exhaust tip that I had left over from my blue truck. It was the factory chrome package slip on tip. I prepped it and painted it black, then cleared it with clear header paint.
LEN! take special notice of my now bare naked bed sides! I await your thoughts kind sir!
I am still thrilled that I chose a silver truck this time. Sooo much easier to work with:rockon: I also had my front two windows tinted 20% to match the factory rears with LLumar's UV shield tint, and a 5% windshield brow. I'm working on getting some custom ford oval overlays in black and silver for the front and rear ovals and also plan on adding rear wheel well liners(should come this way from the factory.....Hello Ford?) painting my F150 emblems black and silver, and eventually a level and some larger tires.
