I'm guessing the winky face meant it was just a playful question. No harm no foul.

I'm patiently waiting for a spring special mostly because that means that (hopefully) the winter weather will be coming to an end.

How about just using Wipe New?

To get all techy you can get a tester similar to what the Baron used in this post http://www.adamsforums.com/topic/25801-2013-nissan-gt-r/?hl=nissan. Never used one but I'm sure some people can chime in on it.
EDIT: This is only for paint thickness not clear coat thickness.

The OP did say he knows he didn't use this correctly but there are two things that stand out to me. It sounds like you needed two buckets and not just one. You were probably just pulling the dirt off the vehicle, putting it in your wash bucket, and then putting it right back on your vehicle (thus the haze). Definitely need to invest in two bigger buckets both with grit guards. Also, I'm not sure which silver towels you're using but either the metal polishing towels or the utility towels probably aren't the best for this.

Welcome! I wouldn't be surprised is most people start with that fear. Watch the videos then dive right it in. Nothing to fear!

I think even the term drool-worthy doesn't even do this justice. Beautiful.

What's the concensus on a truly "touchless" unmanned wash? You know. The tunnel you drive in that foams the car then has a series of high pressure sprays and when done you drive under that huge blower. I've thought od using that and then misting with detail spray and drying by hand. I, too, lack a garage.
From my understanding, the detail spray might not have enough lubricity to clean without introducing scratches. I never used waterless wash much but I'm very interested in the new Rinseless Car Wash(http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-1013-new-adams-rinseless-car-wash.aspx). This will be in my next order for sure.
I will be be using the touchless car wash to get most of the road grime off the car then bring it back to my garage for the Rinseless Wash. When I didn't have a garage, I found a local car wash place that has a bay that you can pull in and close the doors on both ends. It said to not wash by hand but I was always courteous of others and did it anyway. At least it was out of the cold wind.

I have a pair of waterproof gloves that go up to my arm pits! That helps a TON!
Absolutely. I have a pair of waterproof and chemical safe gloves (from a previous job) that helps a ton.

A little tip I've been using forever...fill your clay tub with HOT water, the clay will be like butter and much more pliable around body lines, and also helps with the needing and folding.
Interesting tip. Thanks!
Claying just feels good once it's done. If you do the baggie test before and after and can notice the difference, it's really worth it.

Looks fantastic! Did you take it for a spin around the block to make sure the wax stayed on? (My dream car btw)

I'm only 26 but I'm an old soul. I wish times were like "the old days".

P.S. - What camera are you using?

I'm in the stone age as well with my iPhone 4 on ATT. I will be switching to the 5s and Verizon in the very near future to take advantage of 4G. I agree with not wanting to be dependent on the cloud but having everything linked with iCloud and Dropbox makes things a lot easier for me. Then every once in a while I plug my phone in to make sure everything is synced, then delete everything off my phone.

A few tasteful mods on my dream G8. Very nice!

I tried this and other recommendations to my question. It worked great with great results from my weekend detailing. The black Volvo looks fantastic, now tape lines or white residue in the gaps. Thanks to everyone.
One of the main reasons I'll always use Adam's is because of this forum.

Quick shot of detail spray in the pretty tightly sealed container kept my clay in perfect condition throughout the winter. Plus it smelled good when I opened it

A pretty good video from Dylan regarding vinyl stripes. I'm guessing you would just apply the same concept to the entire car.

Beautiful beast of car. Love those replica's as well. GLWS.

I use Adam's BG after every wash on my glass. I like the POP I get having tinted windows, and also the decreased ability to smudge. I apply it before I start using SVRT on the trim...this makes getting the leftovers off the glass EASY!
Exactly.
And Adam's Glass Cleaner is well worth the money. I even have the fiance using it around the house now. I'm yet to purchase the glass towels but everyone raves about how well those two work together.

Yeah the stuff holds up really well. My DD G8 wheels have been dipped for over a year and changes the look of the car. Worth the price. (Plasti-Dip loves some SVRT too IMO).

Definitely great price and a bonus 4" backing plate. GLWS. I'm still loving my PC. Going to purchase a different machine?
How I can detect if the paint/clear coat are soft or hard?

I stand corrected. Sorry for the incorrect info OP.
