  1. Sorry to hear about this.  I've read a lot of people having this problem so I appreciate your video.  At least I know what it sounds like but hopefully won't experience it (knock on wood).  I'm clueless when it comes to how most engine parts work, I have to agree with the logic that DonJuan has provided.

  2. I agree with Beemer that watching the videos really does help.

I personally mix about 3 oz of APC in with my car shampoo bucket while washing the car and that seems to strip all previous wax and/or sealants.

You will want to make sure you apply sealant (in your case Quick Sealant) to clean, bare paint.  Then you can layer the Americana over top of that.  (Brilliant Glaze is really popular to layer in between those two by the way)

  3. Improved how? It's already the color of butter.

Taste like butter? Smell like butter?

    HMMMM?

Butter goes on toast, toast comes with breakfast, breakfast isn't complete without bacon...BACON!!!

BTW: The store website says it's out of stock, I guess it's coming REAL soon!

Buttery Toast and Bacon Wax?  I don't even care if it's better.  I'm buying it.

  4. 30 minutes give or take depending on atmospheric conditions.

What Ryan said.  I usually do two full details a year and apply QS when I'm done.  This lasts through the year on my DD here in Illinois.  As mentioned earlier, it doesn't hurt to apply BG and then Buttery (or Americana) on top as you see fit.

  5. I started with the hand polish system.  I did two vehicles and realized it was not what I was looking for.  I knew I had to step up to a machine.  Couldn't afford anything but the PC at the time.  I did a couple vehicles with that and the three step polish system and still was only getting probably 70 percent correction (still new to machine polishing really).  I was just on the verge of upgrading to the flex when Adams released the new Paint Correcting and Paint Finishing Polish and boy do those two really work (even with the PC).  I know I can get results faster with the flex but taking my time with the PC really paid off this past time.

  6. Even if it's far off, start oragnizing now - you'll be on your feet that much quicker...take it from somebody who's started a detailing shop twice over. Insurance is easily the least exciting aspect of the professional detailing world, but at the same time it's also one of the most important.

On another note - there HAS to be an Adam's forums member who works in the insurance industry that can chime in on this...might even get some business out of it.

Thanks for the heads up, Frank.  I agree with it being the most important.  I like to have all of my ducks in a row before jumping into something.

  7. Your car is car is covered by collision or comprehensive coverage and your work, if covered, is covered by liability insurance.  What is covered under each is different. .

Here is a decent article on garage keeper liability.  Notice they say nothing about covering the car for the work you are doing on it.

Third paragraph: "Most garage keeper’s liability packages cover the vehicle you are working on against damage and theft"
