Was just wondering if Adam's products would be good for maintaining the finish on my drum kit? It's a high gloss lacquer finish.

Any issues with window tint?
-
Hey thanks Tony! Should I do anything with the drying towels or are they ok to use right out of the bag?
-
Got a gift certificate for Christmas and just purchased the Platinum Wash Kit! I've read a few things around the boards here about washing the Merino wool car mitt before using and wanted to verify that if possible. Can't wait to get the package!!!
-
Why am I not seeing anything on the calendar for North Carolina? :-(
-
I do recall reading somewhere on these boards that Adams is testing a new foam gun......but it could be MANY months before it's put on the roster.

Well call me crazy but I don't think a brand new car that will be a daily driver need absolute perfection nor $1500 worth of detailing accessories. Not knocking you or Adams but if you learn all the proper washing and drying techniques the you shouldnt need a Flex for awhile. My daily driver has be detailed with Adams products and techniques for a years and a half. The first 4 1/2 yrs I was doing it all wrong. I did a full correction and now I am caught up. I have some acid rain spot that won't come out but I'll survive. Now my wife's car is black and i bought it after I changed my detailing ways. Her car has never seen the porter cable. Just claybar quick sealant and buttery wax.
Pics to follow
It won't be a daily driver but the color is a black pearl tri-coat.....and I live on a dirt road.......YES, I am crazy, thank you very much! Well.....still don't know exactly how I'm going to tackle this.........but the idea of a Flex making a wax job take 60% less time (I think I've got that right) than doing it by hand certainly gets my vote!
-
Just to insure I'm being clear on this.....I'm most definitely not complaining. I'm just saying that if I haven't missed something here why on earth would I opt for the whole enchilada when I could get things as I need them without any financial "penalty?" A couple hundred bucks here and there is much easier for the budget to absorb than $1.5G's all at once.

I'm thinking I've missed something somewhere........in anticipation of the arrival of my new ride (this coming February) I've been checking out what Adams products will be good to have to keep my new baby clean and shiney! From what a lot of folks have said around here seems like the consensus is "if you can afford it get the Ultimate Flex Polisher kit as you will wind up with everything eventually anyway." Well just for fun I filled the shopping cart with the all the items included in the kit. I used basic combo kits and then added individual items not included in the basic kits to complete the list. I was surprised to find that my list came in about $5.00 less than the kit itself. I was under the impression that when you buy a kit you're getting a discount on what the items would cost individually. If the cost difference isn't there or isn't that significant I have no incentive to buy the kit as a whole. What am I missing here?

Thanks Tony! Nice to see a brother officer on here! Stay safe out there Bro!
-
You know me. I will always tell you what's up.
Ok, no I won't! If it passes ALL of the rigorous testing that Dylan and I have for it, you'll see it for sale at some point. Keep in mind, we test something for a good year usually before you see it.
R&D is hard work!
A FREAK'IN YEAR?????!!!! THAT'S TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!
hehehehe....take your time guys...well...not really.....
All kidding aside I'll be looking for one of these "cannons" in a couple months. Do you have a recommendation in the meantime?
-
None as of now.
If we decide to sell one, it will have to be made entirely in the USA, and fall into our other requirements.
Awwww come'on Mook.......you can tell us!
-
I've heard (or read) somewhere that the best tinting has some sort of nano-ceramic technology that is the best for heat rejection and no electronic interference. Does either the Suntek or 3m products have this?
-
Awesome! Thanks for the tip Dylan!
-
NO brand X for my baby! It will ONLY see Adams products once it's in my hot little hands! Sorry to be such a Noob with all this detailing stuff.....REALLY appreciate all the help and guidance you folks provide!
-
Are you getting them tinted professionally? You could do a clay bar pass before getting them done.
After that, nothing but glass cleaner and some elbow grease.
Yes, I'll be having it done professionally. So once the tint is installed do you ever do any claybar treatments or is it strictly the window cleaner?
-
I plan on getting the windows tinted in my new vehicle once it arrives and was wondering what the Adams pros out there recommend for a) prepping the windows prior to tinting and caring for tinted windows with Adams products.
-
Hey Gang! Just wondering what everyone does when you're traveling and your "baby" needs a wash? I'm thinking a brushless car wash is the ticket but wanted to hear from the pro detailers out there.
-
Great look'in ride!
-
Larry, It might be cheaper and easier to just move! Think about all the time and money you'll spend keeping it clean!! I'm just sayin!!
You're probably right Brian! Eventually I'll get around to that but in the mean time I'm thinking I'll be able to take GREAT solace in the fact that no matter how dirty my new baby will get ADAMS will be there to make it easier for me to fight the good fight!
-
Great advice guys, thanks! I've been leaning toward the Ultimate Flex kit, but never having been into detailing I just was'n't sure I needed everything that comes with it. And yes Chris, I have considered a different color and keep coming back to black (actually it's called Phantom black tri-coat pearl). I was thinking I'll be keeping a couple of towels and the waterless wash in the car to knock off the dust once I hit pavement when taking her out. I know it's going to be a pain but this is, in all likelihood, the only time I'll be able to get a "fun" car for myself, so I'm getting exactly what I want (including the color).
-
Ok, I've been doing my research in anticipation of a new car purchase with delivery in Spring 2013. I've got a big challenge in that I'm buying a black 2013 Challenger SRT8 and I live on a dirt road. Some of you here (I'm sure) have seen some of my other posts. Here's the question......would I be best served by purchasing the Ultimate Flex kit or purchasing a few of the lessor kits since this will be a new car not necessarily in need of extensive paint restoration. Thanks in advance for any advice/guidance y'all care to provide.
-
You definitely should get more of the glass towels. The one you have probably won't get you past the windshield. In the meantime, you can use the blue waffle towels that go with Waterless Wash.
edit: I assume from your post that you don't have any other Adam's products yet, so in your case you can go ahead and use the Glass Cleaner with a "regular" towel since it isn't quite as critical as the paint. (you're better off leaving your paint dirty than using inferior towels on it)
Just ordered a 5 pack!
-
How many glass cleaning towels do you recommend having? I just purchased/received the glass cleaner/sealant combo (my first Adams purchase!) that only comes with one towel and now I'm thinking I need to get a few more of those towels before doing any glass cleaning.
P.S. Is it advisable to wash the towels before using them for the first time?
First Major Purchase!

Also picked up the Jumbo Wheel and Under carriage kit as well as the pro detailers cart to store it all! Anyone know if the bottle holders in the cart will hold the jumbo bottles?
