  1. Great feedback, and thanks again! Maybe we'll just introduce a bottle with professional grade sprayer, and make is a cost-effective option to add on to a gallon purchase?

The photo below is of the sprayer I use at home, and it's outstanding! I stand 2' away from the wheels, not bent over at all, and stream-spray APC a complete wheel and 285-75-16 tire in 4 pumps.

Wheel wells on the Excursion or Land Cruiser get 2-pumps of Undercarriage Spray each.

After a wash, I walk briskly along the vehicle, while still wet, and with 4-pumps, the entire side and one half of the roof get a mist of Detail Spray before drying wtih the Monster Sprayer and 24oz bottle.

When cleaning carpets, the larger size is an ABSOUTE MUST! Using the 16oz sprayer is simply inadequate, as it will be refilled 3X on any given job.

Still, I keep a 16oz bottle of DS in the door panel for 'shining while fueling' or waiting for my wife to run into Starbucks for a latte on any given morning. (The fine mist offered by the current sprayer is quite good, and just right for touch up's and regular dusting.)

I also keep the Glass Cleaner and Leather & Interior Cleaner in the 16oz bottles, as a controllable mist is essential in those applications, and the Monster Sprayer is simply overkill.

THANK YOU again for your help and input here. Our goal is simple: Have the best, most effective means of using the best, most effective products. Your input will help us to make sure we keep trying to improve!

    - Adam

  2. I finally had a chance to detail my truck that had been down for quite some time. The wheels were in bad shape so I ordered the Metal Polish.

My friend, you absolutely ROCK for using our goods, and really ROCK for posting before and after photos! Can I use these on our website for marketing purposes?

Thank you thank you thank you!!!

  3. For a garage kept car that is never washed and never sees rain, how often should I put a fresh coat of Butter Wax on?

Bill, you don't need to wax that often, IMHO! If you use Detail Spray as your exclusive cleaning method, after 3-4 months, you'll see enough small wipe marks that you'll want to polish the paint, enhance the depth, and seal the finish.

I've got a car that gets driven like yours, and I use Brilliant Spray Glaze once every 5-6 weeks, and Buttery Wax once each year.

If you are waxing for therapy, go to town! If you are waxing to add gloss and provide protection (basically from the car cover, since it's barely exposed to the elements,) you can get away with a quarterly coat.

Remember: I'm the guy making the wax, so really, if you ask me, it's impossible to use enough of the stuff!! :banana:Go bananas! (You should also store the bottle open, and on it's side so the wax creeps out slowly over time. If there's still more left after that, give it away to a neighbor or family member, and come get some more!

  4. This is probably the one item I would have to say that I wish the Adam's line had...a plastic polish! Headlight/taillight covers can get scratched and dinged from daily driving, it would be great to have something we could use for these! I do use the buttery wax on them, which works great, but in the end even with extreme care there are a few scratches in them.

Indeed, something to shine and restore plastic this way comes!! ;) In the mean time, so you know, using a clay bar and Swirl & Haze Remover, followed by Revive Polish is VERY effective at clarifying hazy headlights.

    Just my $.02!

    :D

  5. You are a super gang! Thanks for your feedback! I'd like to make a designated titled thread to getting your feedback. It's priceless, and what is better than getting feedback to offer our customers EXACTLY what you want??

Would you be pleased if the 20-24oz bottle would fit in the bag? One that is short and squatty so that it is the same height as the current 16oz w/ sprayer?

Thanks again to all of you my friends!!

    -Adam:thumbsup:

  6. Haven't tried the A/P cleaner yet, i'll give it a whirl see what happens.

I have used a claybar, not the Adams brand and didn't get the results i wanted. I will have to get an Adams bar and try it out. Maybe i just wasn't using the right technique or something...

    Thanks guys!

Hey Chris, who's bar were you using? If you don't recall, what color is the bar? It's strange that a clay bar didn't do the trick, unless it's super soft, or too hard.

  7. Thanks for asking, and my favorite tool for cleaning lug nuts is available at Lowe's or Home Depot: It's a natural bristle wooden paint brush with 2-3" bristles. The bristles are great at getting into the nooks and crannies of the lug nut, and socket area.

We don't sell these, and I'm sorry. However, I love them! $3-$5. Here's a photo of what I'm talking about. Be sure to buy a few while you are there.

TIP: Spray our APC on a cool wheel first, then hit with the brush. For MUCH better and more effective wheel cleaning, use a power washer.

Love your thoughts on my theory, and any opposing tips!

  8. Hi, and thanks for joining our forum! Wetsanding is a great way to make your paint look 3-feet deep. However, as a method of scratch-removal, is a last resort, once all else has failed.

First, where on the car are the scratches? Second, what methods and products have you used thus far to remove them? Lastly, do you have a rotary buffer?

I'd like to walk you through additional steps to attempt to remove the scratches, before throwing in the towel, and reaching for the sand paper.

Here's why: wet sanding will certainly remove surface scratches, but will also remove the orange peel that is factory applied in your base and clear coat. If you do an area, it will look different than the rest of the car. Also, it's not something to learn on your Vette! (I learned how on a rental car, which was returned exponentially nicer than when I picked it up, and only one spot that I got a little deep with the paper, and subsequent buffer!)

Still, wetsanding and high speed buffing is an art, and something that should be experimented with for many panels on a fender or hood from the junk yard, or better, a rental car. (wetsanding needs to be followed with a rotary buffer, and often a wool pad, which can and often does burn the paint if not done with care and experience.)

Here at Adam's, we make sure that the results achived are done so with minimal risk of damage, as that's our specialty. Please give us a shot at removing the scratches without wet sanding and buffing, as most new cars don't have gobs of base and clear coat applied, so it's key to do only as a last resort.

    Thanks again for being here!

Thanks Rich! Hi to Darlene, and you are right, time FLIES. Funny, a guy looses much macho-ness when he has a daughter. Most macho-ness, maybe! All for the better.

  10. And don't forget pictures of that beautiful new baby of yours

Did you teach her to detail her crib yet :lolsmack:

PS -- watch the taillights in my Avatar for about 10 sec... I think you'll get a kick out of them...

That is TOO COOL!!! Flash/ .GIF animation in you avatar?? Wow, that's top notch. Thanks for your kindness, and for joining our online family!

    Cheers, Adam:thumbsup:

  12. Well, as a man who has built a nice little sign company who has achieved the Bank of America as a customer, you are clearly speaking from experience!

It's been nearly 30 years that I've been doing what I love for a living. Moved from detailing services to products only 8 years ago, and the evolution has been an education to say the least. (I'm probably a better detailer than entrepreneur today!)

Thank you, again and again for your friendship, advice, and business over the past 6+ years.

You have a friend in Colorado. -Adam:thumbsup:

  13. Great idea! We don't have meetings at Adam's Polishes, so when we got together to discuss the changes for 2009, we held our, "Get Together," on the roof deck of Hennessy's Bar & Grill in Hermosa Beach, CA. After the meeting, we went for a brief walk out the pier, and took this photo:

From left to right, these are our team members in CA, and I'm on the far right:

    Steve King, Warehouse

    Rob White, Shipping Manager

    Ashley Wilson, Sales Associate

    Jason Armstrong, Forums & Events

    Dan Gebben, Warehouse Manager

    Adam Pitale, Janitor

(Missing: Justin Politte, sales, and Gina Mannion, Controller)

We'll have each team member introduce themselves, and tell a little about their interests here in this thread. I'd love to get the same from our friends and customers here as well!

Thanks for being here, and if you have any input or ideas as to how we can make this a better place, we're all ears!

  14. Hello Friends-

It's been an incredible ride, and over the past 9+ years, we have made hundreds of friends through this little company.

I'm honored to have your business, your friendship, and recommendation to your friends, co-workers, and family members. We are not a huge company, cannot advertise in magazines or television, and rely primarily on word-of-mouth for our sales.

You keep us alive, help us grow, give us feedback to help us get better, and for that, we cannot thank you enough!

We are going to be introducing some exciting new products, and will improving our existing line again for 2009. We're going to be asking for advice and input from you while testing, and thank you in advance for helping us develop and market the best car care products available.

I've been detailing bicycles since the age of 8, and cars since age 10. Today, I still detail our vehicles, and dozens of vehicles each year at the many clinics and shows we attend. (Mostly, however, I detail classic Schwinn bicycles, a hobby that I picked up originally, nearly 30 years ago!)

Clearly, we are not genius' here, that's for sure! However, if you have a product request, or are unsatisfied with the advice provided by friends, videos, FAQ's, or staff here, just ask me! Shoot an email over to us directly, anytime: Tips@AdamsPolishes.com

Thanks again for being here, for chiming in to answer other enthusiast's questions, and for being a part of our family!

    Sincerely,

    Adam Pitale
