  1. So I've been on the fence for a while now about getting the merino mitt because I've read mixed reviews. But I decided to go ahead and get it during the spring sale because I am tired of dirt getting stuck in my wash pad and scratching my paint. I have to say, I wish I got it sooner. Nice and soft, and not a speck of dirt in it when I was finished. I’ll keep an eye out to see if this holds true over time, but for now I am very happy with it.

I also picked up the DWC and used it for the first time and I was extremely impressed with it. I didn't let it dwell long enough because there's no mention of dwell time on the bottle, so there was a few specks left, but I've never seen the barrel of my wheels so clean before and I use a turbo stick every time I wash them. Another great product by Adam's. :2thumbs:

  2. So I recently bought some revive polish and matching applicator, and I am very impressed with it. I've read on a few threads here and there of individuals using the revive after FMP with good results. What pad is recommended for this operation and what speed with flex and pc is being used?

  3. So I've read in several threads that Brilliant glaze will degrade Americana if it is applied over top of Americana. I can personally attest that this is true. This got me thinking how it seems to be the norm to apply glaze before Americana, which I also do. So my question is why does this not have the same effect, or if it does, why does it seem to degrade less when applied before Americana?

  4. :welcomebanner: to AA. (Adamaholics Anonymous) :lolsmack:

I would highly recommend Adam's microfiber and glass cleaner, with appropriate MF glass towels on your next order. Adam's glass cleaner is probably my favorite product. I own every Adam's MF except the new metal polish towels and I will never use any other towels on my car again, they are all AMAZING! And if you want to reduce scratches on the door jambs, try some waterless wash.:2thumbs:

  5. So there's something nasty on the felt window guides in both front doors. When I roll the windows down and back up it leaves white residue streaks on the tint. I'm going to remove the door panels to clean the felt and was wondering what the best thing to clean this would be.

  6. A larger diameter hose will increase the (volume) flow. Restrictions are what creates pressure.

You're on the right track! The pressure will be in the hose behind the restriction. this pressure differential is what creates an increase in fluid velocity out of the nozzle. The larger the diameter of the hose, the greater the pressure differential and thus, higher velocity out of the nozzle. :2thumbs:

  7. Putting a 3/4" ID hose on a 5/8" nipple doesn't make sense to me.

Also, my house has 1/2" lines running into the spigot which branch off of 3/4" lines which branches off of the 1" main line. So if I truly wanted the best flow, I'd have to plumb a 1" line to the spigot.

It comes to a point where you just have to say "it's good enough" IMO.

A 6' at 5/8" diameter isn't going to make that dramatic of difference at the nozzle.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just providing Larry with the facts so he can make an informed decision.

  8. Weakest link? The leader hose won't matter. You just want a nice flexible hose HD for washing. ALWAYS shut the water off at the wall and let the pressure out of the hose.

    Chris

the hose reel i have uses a 5/8" leader hose also. doesn't really effect the flow

The size of the leader hose does matter and it will affect flow. The total system will only flow as much fluid as the smallest diameter in the system will allow.

Larry, your best bet is to make your own hose. Check out McMaster Carr or Grainger for supplies to make said hose. Just keep in mind that even if you get a bigger leader hose you will still be limited by the hard lines inside the hose reel which are usually 1/2" or 5/8".

  9. I think next time you are having issues, please take pictures so that we can better assess the situation.

It sounds like to me you were using too much product. Always look at your pad before adding any more polish to it. If you can still see dried polish, snap off a couple rounds of DS to the pad, and re-energize the polish that's still there. What will happen when continually adding polish to the pad is that you will end up with a gummed out pad that won't be nearly as effective nor will it allow the polish to work.

    Mook

I think this was my problem. The pads were really nasty with gunk by the time I was finished.
