  1. SERIOUSLY! Just look at this thread...knowledge dropping left and right from the guy. Answering questions...I mean...seriously...Welcome home DvK. That said, I didn't realize this thread would be so popular when I created it. Dylan, to your question: I think you are on exactly the same page as me (at least)...I want a coating to protect. Period. That's what it's for. If I want shine, I'll add it via LSP...But in my mind, a coating is to protect. And I say that because of my daily driver that sits outside 24/7...The whole reason I posted this thread was because I detailed my Acura over the weekend when I posted this and knew afterwords that the protection would barely last through winter, if that. I want something that will last October through October or more. The guys who do this for therapy or on a garage queen won't be the target demographic I don't think. The guys who run a business and the guys who want to protect a daily driver are who this should be aimed towards I think. I wouldn't MIND a glossy finish, but if it shortens the life of the coating, I'd skip that and advise customers to top with Americana. Thanks again for the wealth of knowledge in here. -Bryan
  2. Was hoping you'd chime in with a yay or nay. Thanks Dylan! I understand the "weekend warriors" that's what I am...But at the same time, I don't get the time to do polishes all the time. So a coating that I could throw on and know it'll protect the paint for at least a year would be awesome. A yearly coating would even be excellent to me. I can also understand the business side of not wanting to do that...but really, if you offer a product that can compete with others out there...Competition is a good thing for the consumer :thu:
  3. Hi guys...I don't post much, but lurk quite a bit. I am curious if Adams has considered a high end sealant similar to a product with the initials OC and OG. They claim years of protection if taken care of. Has Adam's considered a product like this? I think it would be awesome for those times we spend 20+ hours doing a correction, knowing we had a sealant that was "apply and forget" for a year or so. Especially for vehicles that are drivers. Love every Adam's product I've used...I am about to switch to Adam's polishes, as I'm tired of struggling to get one-oh-five off the paint!
  4. A vehicle that size, and that trashed...at LEAST 700...And that's being generous. That's less than 50/hr...
  5. Here's the way I see it...let's be honest, you end up with all these things anyway right? There is a black Friday sale, so I just decided to get the best prices I could since I'll end up buying it all eventually anyway. It's basically like buying the ultimate kit
  6. See, and this is EXACTLY why I placed this big order with you guys, instead of someone else...Not only are you guys focused on Made in the USA, but the big dog himself came in to thank ME for ordering??? On Thanksgiving no less? This kind of thing doesn't happen anymore. THANKS ADAM! I have 2 vehicles as my test subjects. One is a BLACK 2000 Chevrolet K2500 Crew Cab short bed. I can tell the paint might look good with some Adam's love, but it was a farm truck, so it's got some scratches and scuffs that I'm hoping I can get out. The other one is my daily driver and it's a 2004 Acura TL...It's a dark grey color (Anthracite Metallic) and will also look awesome when it's all done up. Thank you very much for that message Adam, means a lot that you care to thank your paying customers. So when you get back to the office Monday, make sure you pack those boxes with care, deal? I'm totally kidding. I'm super anxious to get this stuff in and start playing -Bryan
  7. Thanks guys! I ended up with more single soft towels than the ultimate kit, but I will only have 2 double soft, as opposed to 4. One of my future purchases will be the microfiber towel and revitalized bundle!
  8. So, I did some price checking, and with the Holiday sale for the Flex Complete kit (Plus the Brilliant Glaze pad and liquid) it was cheaper to buy the kits individually than the ultimate kit, and I got a few more things to boot. The only things I wasn't able to get and stay under cost was the gallon refills of Detail Spray and All Purpose cleaner. But with the other kits, I got 32oz of Detail Spray and 56oz of All Purpose cleaner. I figure that will last me through winter, and I'll order the refills this spring. I'm extremely pumped. The Black Friday 15% made me pull the trigger. Here's what I ordered: Adam's Platinum Carwash Kit Adam's FOCUS 4" Complete Polishing Pad Kit for PC Polishers Adam's 4" FOCUS Pad Cordless Drill Backing Plate Adam's Premium Shine Kit Adam's Jumbo Wheel & Undercarriage kit Adam's Quick Sealant Kit Adam's In and Out Spray Dressing Adam's Complete Flex XC 3401 VRG Polisher Kit with FREE BONUS Adam's Perfect Vision Glass Cleaner & Sealant Combo Adam's Microfiber Revitalizer & Brightener 16oz Adam's Perfect Interior Kit Adam's Blaster Sidekick Dryer by MetroVac Adam's Waterless Car Wash Kit Adam's Foaming Sprayer 3 pack Adam's Vol 8 Detailing DVD $1240 delivered. Thanks Adams! I'm a rookie, but I'm totally looking forward to learning and giving my cars the Adam's treatment. Maybe some friends will pay a couple bills to do their cars too. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! -Bryan
  9. Wow, thanks for the warm welcome guys! I think I'm convinced...dang you guys! Here's a question for ya...I don't have a garage, unfortunately...Is it ok to use Adams products (or any product really) outdoors? I mean, I have a carport I can pull under to work, but if it has to be a certain temperature or something, that could be a problem. Seriously, thank you guys so much! Fat Mike - this truck came from Nebraska actually! O'Neill...so northern nebraska I guess.
  10. Hello all, my name is Bryan, I'm from Kansas City. I just bought a 2000 Chevy k2500 Crew Cab short bed that is in good overall shape, but the paint needs some TLC. It was a farm truck, so it's got little scratches and blemishes all over. After looking into going with Meguiars products, a friend recommended Adams to me. After looking at the forum and the products, I'm about 9/10ths of the way to pulling the trigger on the Flex Ultimate kit...Holy crap a lot of money But I feel like it will give me results, and I can do cars for friends and stuff as well. Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself! My question is: Would I regret going with the premium kit over the Ultimate kit? It's almost half the price, but I'm wondering if all the extra tools and product are worth it in the Ultimate kit. Convince me ladies and gents And because we are all car guys here, here is the new toy:
