Getting the last of the scratches

camaroguylenny

Question

Newbie question. I have had great results so far with the PC and Adam's products on our new 2010 Camaro we bought in December. The car had scratches and swirls on the entire car including the side windows (damage came from sitting at the dealership for almost 4 months before we bought her, no 2 bucket system at this dealership). I have already performed one pass of SHR along with FMP and MSW and am very pleased with the results on the spider web-like swirls and most of the other scratches, but the pictures on the site are forcing me to go to the next level...perfection. My question is how to handle the remaining scratches that remain (no fingernail grab). Should I bump up to the severe swirl and green pad and treat the entire car in this fashion followed by SHR/FMP/MSW? Should I try another pass or two with the SHR and then follow up with FMP/MSW process? Or can I get away with using the respective focus pads with the Severe/SHR/FMP/MSW process on the scratches without disrupting the finish on the rest of the car. I'm willing to put in the time and work but wanted to get the opinions of those who have already been down this road.

I tried to snap a few pictures but the Victory Red color makes it difficult to pick up the remaining scratches on my digital camera. Any tips for getting good pics on a red car would be appreciated as well.

If you have the focus pads I would go with what Chris stated above and use them. If not I would do another pass with the SHR to see if it will get ride of them and if not then I would move onto the SSR. Just remember you want to go the less aggressive route first.
