STex
What tape would you recommend when polishing? Do you tape to cover both sides of the panel seams with one strip of tape? Say trunk lid to qtr panel...
JBlack151
3M painters tape here as well. Just waiting for the Adam's Polishing Tape to be released soon! I like to inspect the vehicle I'm working on to see all the areas the pad may go over that meets with any part of the paint. Like window trim, plastic moldings, headlights, emblems, etc and tape those areas off. Sometimes I may go overboard with the tape but I'd rather waste a cheap roll then spend extra time removing polish residue after a long day on a job. Chewy
3M blue painters tape works just fine! It's all I use...
Luken10
I personally just use the blue painters tape, it holds very well. As for what to tape, i would definitely recommend taping any edge or crevice that the polishing pad is going over. My first couple details I didn't tape anything and it has been a nightmare getting all of the caked on polish residue off. I'm still trying to figure out which parts to tape without being overkill. I actually think a tutorial video on this would be extremely helpful!
